The customer service rep Sammy was…

The customer service rep Sammy was excellent. Sammy was able to take care of me and gave me great customer service. We had gotten disconnected on the phone. Sammy called me right back. I was very happy with that.
Soda Stream should have more employees like Sammy

Reminders would be nice

The problem with this generation is everything comes with a subscription option. These companies think they are saving you money. They probably are, but the reality is it takes longer to use items and then they just sit there. It’s taken over 4 months to use all my canisters. Sodastream is one of those companies that should never have offered a subscription option. It would also be nice if you gave people a reminder about returning canisters as with most subscriptions the onus is on the customer to remember. It’s all well and good saying as per terms and conditions but there’s a lot of of t & c to remember now .

Soda streams appalling service

I ordered for daughter for Christmas, It never arrived even though I had paid for express delivery. The customer service agents blatantly lied about the status of the order. They had assured me it had been dispatched to DPD on a 1 day delivery only to be told it was still in the warehouse.
Absolutely appalled generally.
I’m still waiting for my goods.

Deliveries not accurate as stated on their website

After many years as a loyal customer, I feel the need to share my experience.

SodaStream guarantees next-day delivery for orders placed before 11:00 AM. What they fail to mention is that if you place an order on a Thursday, this guarantee simply doesn’t apply. The standard explanation I receive is always the same: “There were general delays in delivery.”

Once - understandable.
Twice - concerning.
More than that - it’s no longer an exception; it’s a pattern.

If next-day delivery cannot be honored on certain days, this should be clearly stated on their website. Repeatedly missing promised delivery times is disappointing and misleading.

Soda Stream

Soda Stream, owned by Pepsi Co, is NOT interested in the environment or your health.

There is overwhelming evidence showing Soda Stream machines and bottles are designed to fail on average every 2-3 years. A common claim in Soda Stream marketing states that you could save more than one thousand single use plastic bottles by using a Soda Stream. Looking at aggregate results of worldwide users, machines and bottles fail every two years and this has also been my personal experience. I am also an industrial designer of over 20 years. There are numerous design features I have inspected that appear to be deliberately implemented to cause these products to fail.

There is nothing shocking about any of this unfortunately. This is the business.

What I find deplorable is that Soda Stream positions itself as a company that is about reducing waste. But the reality does not stack up. One machine thrown in the garbage every two years is the equivalent of hundreds of single use plastic bottles.

From a product point of view then - it doesn’t even do what it claims to do. Therefore - Soda Stream is a fail.

Terrible experience

Well, looks like I’m not alone…Their customer service is terrible. I’ve emailed four times and got one AI response that didn’t answer my question. I need to know about my exchange. I wish someone would start up a competing company!

Designed to use up more C02 per tank for less seltzer..

First I will say that Sodastream customer service by phone is excellent. My complaint is that they redesigned their current line of sodastream dispensers to cause users to use more CO2 and get less seltzer in two ways. My old machine was much better, but it malfunctioned after a long period of use. So I needed to replace it. The old model allowed me to let the bottle sit in the machine for up to about 10+ minutes before all the pressure was released. This let me leave the tank in the machine to allow the CO2 in the bottle absorb into the water ( 6 or 7 minutes was what I did). The new machines all release the pressure within 10 seconds, which basically releases a lot of the CO2 before it actually can be absorbed into the water. The result it that much more CO2 needs to be injected initially. The 2nd issue is that once the button is released CO2 continues to be released for at least 20 or 30 seconds. Users wouldn't see this unless they put another full bottle in and observe the bubbles still coming out. In my mind, this new design was either deliberate, to sell more CO2 bottles, or simply a complete lack of knowledge how CO2 is absorbed in water. I would guess I get half the seltzer I used to get now from a tank. That is only a guess though.

SodaStream blue refill Issue

Sainsbury’s SodaStream Issue

I recently bought a blue SodaStream refill from Sainsbury's since the pink refill was out of stock. Unlike the pink one, the blue packaging did not mention any model compatibility restrictions, which led me to believe it would fit all models. However, when I got home, I realized it was not compatible with my SodaStream model. I attempted to return the product, unused, to Sainsbury's, but they refused to accept it.

Sainsbury's and SodaStream should work together to either accept returns for unused products in cases like this or clearly indicate any model-specific restrictions on the packaging of the blue refill. Otherwise, these blue refills should be removed from sale. It’s a serious oversight for both brands.
