Great service & best of all its just around the corner !

We just wanted to comment about the friendly and helpful staff. We were looking for a mattress after our landlady told us she purchased here and we thought they may ship to the mainland. Although they don’t a friendly member of staff tried a store on the mainland to see if we could purchase it there and when this wasn’t possible found some online retailers we could look at. It’s unusual to find such a great level of service when there is no sale involved so we just wanted to say thanks and well done!

A excellent service from start to finish, the whole team ( sales, delivery, installation and customer service) are friendly and go out of their way to be helpful. The team were quick and came to our aid to solve a minor problem that we had with one of my mothers items. Thank you all very much.

Used solent beds to buy my bedroom furniture.
Upside - The service received in the showroom was ok. They kept to their delivery timetables and the delivery guys were great. The furniture is a good quality.
Downside - communication with their office is poor I emailed to ask about pricing before I made my purchase which was some 10wks ago now and they never replied at all.
A little bit pricey on comparison. I could've gotten furniture of an equal quality delivered from the mainland for a bit cheaper but wanted to try and support a local shop. Had finance not been an option I would've shopped elsewhere.

If you live on the Isle of Wight, there really is only one place to buy your furniture from. Such a friend and helpful company, with amazing showrooms, and products, you’re spoilt for choice! We’ve purchased a Hypnos bed from them already, but needed a replacement sofa quite urgently for my pregnant wife, and I’m please to say that Solent Beds did not disappoint! Expecting to wait up to 24 weeks for delivery, we went in there not expecting to get what we wanted, however, within minutes, Sam (Newport store) was able to help us find exactly what we needed, and in stock! No pressure to buy like you get on the mainland, just friendly and happy to go above and beyond to make you one happy customer! The next day, we had our sofa delivered! Now that is what I can first class service! Never ever buy from the likes or Argos, The Range, or Dunelm, as they usually use the same cheap supplier, which break within days, like what happened to us. Solent Beds really is the one and only place that you should visit for your furniture needs! Thank you again for all your help!

We are absolutely delighted with our bed and mattress. The staff were a great help, from the lake branch. Isle of wight. We would recommend them to anyone. Very helpful, polite and patient. We'll done.

Well this company is just the worst. Just had a phone call to discuss my cancellation. Whatever I said to the lady so would only say that’s not true . We signed a contract. We are liable for cancellation fee. Please do not use. I felt very bullied by this person .If I could give a 0 I would. I feel this company is very deceitful. We ordered 2 sofas in March. We have not received any communication from this company to say where I order was up to. Phoned them only to be told that we would not have a delivery until August. August 19th. Over 6 months. We was not told about the estimated time frame which is 16 to 18 weeks. That was bad enough But now we have to wait a lot longer. So I cancelled them . Only to be told that we would have to pay £400 fee. That was on the Friday. So I went and had a think about it. Phoned back on Monday to be told it was going to be £600 odd . When I told her she said she would go and get some information and call me back. But no call back. So phoned again on Tuesday was answered by the guy I had spoken to on Friday. Only to be told that he never gave me a fee for cancellation. Where would I have got that figure from if he had not said it. I’m now waiting on the company to get the recordings of the conversations. I was also told by the lady that I talk to that this company that was making my sofas well was known for it’s lateness in delivery. Do not use if you don’t want to be waiting forever to get your furniture

We purchased a 3-seater and 2-seater settee which arrived 2 weeks ahead of schedule. The showroom staff had been most attentive and patient in our selection of exactly what we required. The delivery men arrived at the agreed time and did an exceptionally good job of delivering and assembly of the settees.( We live in an awkward location in a second floor apartment made worse because of landslides and road closures.) Our whole experience with this company has been totally hassle free and satisfying hence the good score.

After writing this review I was contacted by Solent Beds who reconsidered my complaint & have now resolved it. They have collected the sofa & returned the purchase price although we lost the £120 we paid for insurance . A reasonable result.
Original complaint - Bought a sofa for almost £800 less than 6 months ago. Both of the cushions are sagging & we have been told to "dress" that is smooth out the cushions. I have never been told to do that before & we were not told about this when we bought it. The sofa is rubbish as is their customer services department. Do not buy a sofa from these people, you will be disappointed & out of pocket.
