The device seems to be working. If you cannot tolerate a cpap machine then I recommend using this device if you have no other options. I have noticed several side effects; The bottom plate keeps slipp... See more

The MAS was easy to get used to. I felt that the quality of my sleep quality had improved but after 5 months' use, a sleep test showed that the improvement was not as great as I had perceived. The number of respiratory disturbances had declined by 50% from the previous test but there had been only minimal improvement in my oxygen desaturation level. Back to the drawing board!

The splint for grinding is not comfortable at all. Two wide from the sides hurting my gum.

Great product (Somnodent Advant) which helps my breathing /snoring so simply and conveniently. Great service through ordering, supply process, plus amazing follow up service from Shelley Donovan in the Sydney office when I needed a spare band for the device. Highly recommended.

Takes a while to get used to but then is great. Much better experience than cpap. Excellent if you travel a lot.

Quality product that actually works. Game changer.

This company makes a comfortable effective device that cures my mild sleep apnea! It’s also a fraction of the cost of my mouthpiece that I had fitted in Canada! 🇨🇦

Back in 2009 I had the original Somnodent "Classic" device. It was a bit uncomfortable but it was effective and virtually eliminated my snoring and my partner was happy.
Fast-forward to 2024, I had discarded it over the years but now I wanted to get a replacement. My dentist gave me the option of the Classic or the newer Avant. They recommended the Avant as it was more configurable and more comfortable so I went with that. The splint comes with 10 straps that give you increasing levels of protrusion of the lower jaws. I was advised to start at 0 and then each week increase by 1 if I'm still snoring. This was all a faff which basically at the end of 2 months is when you've tried all the straps and realise none is effective. What a waste of time. What was effective was when my dentist installed a pair of dental rubber bands to restrict my mouth from opening. I've had some success with that but occasionally do still snore loudly.
The other problem with the Avant is it causes me to drool HEAPS when I sleep. I'm a side sleeper and I guess the device is holding a bit of my mouth open. This is super annoying. This did not happen at all with the Classic.
I also find the Avant to be very uncomfortable. It fits just slightly over the tips of the teeth. This means the side pulling force is concentrated at the tip of the teeth so you can really feel it. Had it covered more of the teeth then the force would be distributed a bit better.
If I had the choice again, I'd go with the Classic. At least it worked and it's a whole lot less hassle.

The first device I had for a few years and it broke. I had it replaced and a few months after I received the replacement it broke again.
Although it works it seems the quality of the materials has gone down hill

I am allergic to the mask materials and can't use the CPAP/BiPAP machines. It is also nice not to have to deal with cleaning hoses and equipment, much less having it quieter at night not only for me but my husband. This was a great solution.

This is my second appliance. It works well enough but not as well as the first one I had a few years before.
The dentist who prescribed the first appliance closed their practice and I was unable to continue with the same care and maintenance after I lost a part of it.
I changed to another provider with another model of the mandibular repositioning model. This appliance is connected top and bottom. The first one was a a two piece model and I believe it worked better over all but it had its disadvantages in that the upper and lower parts could be separated and therefore misplaced.

Best solution for sleep apnea I have found after 2 decades of suffering trying multiple mainstream options that didn't work for me.

Patient Treatment Coordinator Morgan Mercer was unbelievably helpful and diligent researching and providing the warranty information for my SomnoMed Flex appliance. I had been trying to get this information from my dentist/provider for months with no success. Morgan was professional, patient and impressively diligent. She deserves special recognition!

I was using somodent old version last 7 years and 4 months before my old one is broken and my dentist offered me the new version and I used it one month and I couldn’t adjust with the new version so dentist changed to old one with out any additional cost and iam still using it’s a perfect ultranative solution for cpap machines

I contacted customer support because I had a problem with an online order. They quickly resolved my issue

My snoring has gone from 'freight train' to barely audible (apparently). Plate is comfortable and I feel like I sleep better generally, and wake up feeling more refreshed. I battled with CPAP machine (2 types) for 10 years - SO much better than CPAP!

I initally had a very bad experience w/SomnoMed and wrote a detailed review on that experience.(see below)It was eventually resolved a few months ago due to a lot of effort on my part. I am satisfied with the outcome and am increasing my initial review from 1 star to 4 stars.
Update: finally, with persistance on my part, was able to connect w/someone and am working on a resolution. We'll see....

I have tried to get help from this company for several months. Impossible to reach by phone, even though they boast having a "patient portal". Although I have spoken to a few people along the way, I've gotten no help in resolving my issues. Strangely, I was sent an email on Oct 29th from someone in the "support team" stating that if I needed help to call. Well, I did, and left a message that, once again, went unanswered. One week later, Nov 5th, I received another email from "support" stating "you will now be opted out of your patient journey". What??...you mean "patient nightmare?". They ignored my attempts to reach them and now are dismissing me? Horrible, horrible customer service.
PS...Apparently I'm not the only one.Just scrolled through the reviews and started to see a pattern in this company's lack of response to customer's concerns. This is not good.

This is a great device. Your response to me on Oct 9th about my device having dark spots is likely corrosion or oxidation so I am wondering is this harmful to wear until I get a new one? Also my dentist can not file under medical insurance to make a claim for it so that’s an issue.

Was recommended I try this product for my snoring by an Ent surgeon which I was happy to do. Even after following all the instructions it didn't do anything for my snoring! Alot of money for doing nothing.

So much easier to use than the cpap machine.
I feel better in the mornings without headaches.
Still tire easily and get sleepy when sitting.
I will know if the device is working well after a second sleep study next year.
