Exquisite Customer Service
I have been shopping with SOAS now for about a year or so having previously bought most of my japanese/rare denim pieces overseas or directly from the brand.
I had a bit of a nightmare with the sizing of my latest purchase that I made on Boxing Day, making use of the 10% discount code for subscribers.
Oscar was on hand immediately to support me with measurements and the return of my Full Count jacket so that it could be exchanged for another size. Due to me wanting to try my original purchase alongside the new size, I needed to place a new order which only complicated things due to the discount code but Oscar was on hand via email on a daily basis to work through this with me so I could ultimately end up with the right product.
Full disclosure too, I have been a pain in the a*s throughout the process and there have been a few other unforeseen obstacles in the way but again, Oscar was completely understanding, very responsive, co-operative and gave me as much time as I need to get everything sorted.
Cannot recommend highly enough, love visiting the store in person when I get chance but rest assured if you order online, these guys have you covered.

Extremely poor
Ordered supposedly in-stock jeans online and expected to receive the item a couple of days later (as suggested by the website).
One week later, after no contact and no real response to my customer service email, I receive a message explaining the size I ordered actually isn't in-stock. I agree to take a size larger and to receive them on a particular day. No further contact. Expected date of delivery passes. I email again asking for a refund. A few hours later I receive a dispatch update from DHL.
This has been such a protracted, annoying experience that probably isn't over yet (I'll still have to return these jeans). The customer service person Oscar seemingly tried their best, but overall it's been really poor and I'd struggle to recommend Son of a Stag in the future. Rivet and Hide and Redcast Heritage were both much better shopping experiences!

Amazing store with incredible service
Amazing store with incredible service. I just ordered a pair of paraboots to NYC and they were packed and shipped by SOS within 48hrs. Had a small hiccup with DHL stateside and the Son of a Stag representative, Oscar, went above and beyond to help me resolve this.
5 more stars to Oscar alone! He was professional and efficient in dealing with the tariff/border issues and the shoes were delivered the same day it was resolved.
I could not be more happy with my purchase from Son of a Stag and Oscar really made it that much better. I will be ordering from them again!!

I had a good experience with this shop overall.
I initially encountered an issue with my order and gave them a 1-star rating because the customer service was bad and refused to fix the issue.
However, once their e-commerce director, Chad, got involved, everything turned around. He was eager to resolve the problem and even processed a partial refund on a Sunday night!
His dedication really stood out, and I’ll definitely be shopping here again.

Great honest 5* service
Great honest 5* service. I wanted to buy some Red Wing boots but I had difficulty with the fitting on these boots. I spent nearly an hour trying lots of boots on. I didn’t buy any on this occasion but the service was really nice outstanding & they were super honest - reason why I didn’t buy - this time. The only criticism is that they have a crazy price big choice of everything which means that you have to know what you want or rely on their expertise. The staff are real experts with an incredible amount of knowledge and better than anywhere else that I have tried. The service levels match the great choices they have. I will visit again when I am in London but will come with plenty of money and lots of time to shop properly as I now know they have the biggest selections in Europe for many brands of jeans, jackets, shirts, etc. They have a cool website too but best to go in person to experience all of it.
Poor customer service
Bought a t-shirt online to find it didn’t look the same colour as the website. Returns policy is 14 days, much shorter to other websites and clothes shops. Got an unhelpful and snarky email back before they stopped replying entirely until I started a case with PayPal to get my money back. Would avoid like the plague.
A satisfactory conclusion to a customer service hiccup
Really poor customer service and no communication regarding sizing issues. I returned an XL T shirt to exchange for an XXL and when it arrived it was actually smaller than the original XL. I returned the T shirt for a second time, but the returns slip was attached to the fancy box it came in, which they later declared as actual damage to the box and so they could not sell the item again and would have to source another box, even though the item inside was in perfect condition. I offered to cover the cost of the box from the original purchase price but instead, without further discussion I was given a store credit, which i didn't want, and which was actually less that the purchase price of the original item, after this all communication stopped. Now, i understand that in their mind the box was damaged, but in my mind i didn't pay for a fancy pretentious box, i paid for the T shirt, which was returned in perfect condition. No mention was made of the sizing issue, Jay Shipley just did what was easiest for them. Considering how expensive the item was and the fact that it was their sizing that generated the return, i was expecting better customer service, not a quibble about a box that would end up in a bin anyway. Consequently i have been essentially forced to use the store credit for an item i didn't really want. I contacted them through the chat box on their own website and emailed Jay Shipley direct, but i have received no response from them at all. I will not be using this merchant again, and i would caution anyone when buying from them that their customer service online is not what it should be given how expensive they are and their high-end website
UPDATE…… I have since received a call from Rudy at Son of a Stag and i have to say that i ended up very impressed with how they resolved the issue. They have apologised and fully explained how my issue seemed to have slipped through the cracks and refunded the difference between what i originally bought and what i ended up buying with the store credit. I don't often feel that it is appropriate to withdraw my original comments, but on this occasion i feel it is. Well done Rudy and Son of a Stag, you have turned a disgruntled customer into a fervent ambassador, an acceptable explanation and refund of the difference in purchase was well received……thanks ….Simon
