I have recently had couple of bad experiences with online retailers, so I thought I’d leave a great review for a few of the companies I trust and regularly buy from.
Sophie Allport is one of them. Their products are always good quality and arrive quickly (slightly slower at Christmas, but most retailers are.) I try not to look too often at their website as I’m always tempted by something and my house is fast becoming a Sophie Allport showroom!

Not a great start. First time ordering and still waiting for even an update regarding postage a week later. Item should have been with me by now and not even dispatched.
Probably won’t be returning which is a shame as the website had lots of items I liked the look of.

I don’t normally leave reviews, however I really felt I should after my service with this company.
I’ve ordered many items over the years and have only ever had one issue with an item.
This was sorted out way out of an acceptable time scale (all my fault) and they couldn’t have been more efficient or polite.
There aren’t many companies that would do this.
So a big thank you for being so amazing.

Frustrating returns procedure for faulty goods
I order every year at Christmas & have been so disappointed with the quality & service this year. One of the items, a wash bag was visibly faulty. I contacted them by email like their website requested & had several back & forth emails to get them to return the item without a charge. It should have been much easier & less complicated. Links & codes they'd asked me to use did not work. I felt they were hoping I'd just give up & save them the cost & inconvenience. I'd spent £140 so it wasn't an insignificant amount. I like your products Sophie Allport, you should have a much better returns procedure for faulty items.

Recently bought the christmas dogs stocking, the item itself is beautiful I paid the extra and had a name put on it this I am very disappointed with the writing is so small and has now spoilt the item

Very happy with my set of oilcloth bee bags and make-up bag
I bought the 3 sizes of the Oundle oilcloth bee bags and just love these so much (especially as I keep bees!)
The matching set means I have a weekend bag, shopping bag and mini handbag, which makes them versatile for many occasions.
All the bags have shoulder straps that are adjustable or you can choose to carry them with the handles.
The smaller/mini size bag keeps my everyday things in when I go shopping/visiting friends and keeps my ipad, purse, make-up and mini umbrella in it.
The oilcloth fabric is water resistant and is wipeable which I like, so I am able to always keep it clean. I also like the 4 studs on the base which means that when I put it down it is kept off the floor and will not mark the base of the bag. There are two internal open pockets and a useful zipped pocket for valuables.
I also bought a bee make-up bag which is a perfect size and has has a fold-out makeup brush part with zipped compartment for smaller items like hair bands, etc. Great idea to keep make-up brushes neatly stored on the fold out side. Especially like the bright yellow colour and bee design.
Ordering was easy online and they emailed me about delivery. Would have no hesitation shopping again with them and found them friendly and helpful on the 'phone when I called to ask them a few questions. Now looking at the other Oundle bags as I like the fox design oilcloth bags too!

Bee bedding set - king sized
I recently purchased the Kingsized bee bedlinen and it is really difficult to iron to make it presentable even when ironed damp. The pillowcases are also poorly lined up so appear crooked after ironing too. Really disappointing.

Atrocious customer care
I have ordered many many times from Sophie Allport but will no longer be doing so. After ordering a dog collar from the website, I received the item which was so tight on my dogs neck that it was unusable. I had measured my dogs neck before ordering to ensure I selected the right size. Obviously, the collar is not long enough for the sizes they state on the webpage i.e medium fits 35cm to 43cm. The whole collar itself is only 45cm with the last hole being at 40cm. If you put the dog collar at this last hole, it is still not secure as it is too short to go through the loop. I emailed the company about the issue and was told to return it to them (at my expense) and that they will send a larger size. I completed the exchange form and yesterday received an email saying my refund had been processed and the money would be returning to my account- no mention of an exchange. I got in contact with the chat option on the website and was told that they would honour me a 15% discount (this is already being offered on the website). I told the lady how when I ordered the item it already had 15% off. She ignored this and told me my feedback would be passed on. I then rang up the company and got the same lady on the phone. She told me that others hadn’t complained but I explained I had seen other reviews after ordering also complaining about the size and she said ‘well if that’s what you think and believe’. I responded this isn’t what I think or believe it’s what I’ve seen and was then told she didn’t like my tone. I will never be ordering from Sophie Allport after this. Customer care is appalling!

I purchased a couple of lovely times from Sophie Allport. Although there was a problem with one of the purchases, Sophie Allport's customer care was amazing. The issue was resolved in such a polite and speedy way with offer to exchange or refund. Beautiful items. Despite the little issue, products are beautiful and am I sure I will buy more.

My new go to designer for homeware and accessories
Ordered the bees foldable rucksack as a birthday gift for my Mum and I think she’s going to love it! I love this bag and may even have to order one myself!, excellent quality, once opened doesn’t even look like it would fold away but it does! Classy design and finish!
I also love the look of the bedding and homeware range on the website...this is going to be my new go to designer, being a country living girl I absolutely love this stuff and so glad I stumbled across this website!
Added bonus ordered Thursday evening and delivered Saturday morning!

Poor Quality
I purchased three range cooker towels. Two were gifts and I kept the last one for myself. I found the towel part very thin and after one wash I decided it looked as if it was an old towel and needed replacing. The stitching came apart from the towel leaving the velcro hanging off in parts from the towel.
I contacted Sophie Allport and explained the situation. The young lady on the phone asked if I could send it back, but what with the present situation (COVID) I decided against going to the post office.
My take on this situation would be to buy better towelling. To be honest, I would rather pay extra and have a decent product. I can’t comment on Sophie Allport’s other items. It’s a shame as I liked quite a lot on her website

I ordered Elephant bedlinen and two…
I ordered Elephant bedlinen and two pillowcases. For some reason I hadn't realised that the duvet cover would include 2 pillowcases already meaning I have 4 pillowcases when I only need two. I opened the two additional ones first before I realised there were two more in the duvet cover pack. Sophie Allport will not refund the two unwanted pillowcases as I have opened them. How ridiculous and disappointing. They still have the creases in them and have barely been touched! I have never heard of such silly rules. The same items are for sale in John Lewis - if I had ordered through JL I could send them back no problem. Madness. It's not even the £24, it's the principle. Lovely bedlinen but I would never shop there again or recommend to anyone because the customer service is so poor. What a shame. Makes you not want to support small businesses at all which goes against all my shopping desires.

Very poor and incompetent performance
Very poor performance. Items ordered 8 Dec 2020 advised that they were in hand on 14 Dec. But then on 18 Dec told that the single main ( most expensive) item was not available. This was only hours before the other items arrived in the post - less the important main item. It is bad enough waiting 10 days when many others get items through within a week or even less.
Called Sophie Allport. They then found, they said, that they had located one of the missing item and it would as a gesture be sent "Next Day Delivery". however, surprise surprise, by 5.00pm the next day it had not come. Being ordered in early December it was for a Christmas present and now we only have the minor perts but not the main item. We are left wondering what we should do and how long we should wait!
