Avoid them at all costs

Tried to use a charger, the app crashed just after the £49 hold went through and then it wouldn't allow me to charge the car. Didn't want to try again and get a another ridiculously large hold charge. Now it's coming up to a month and I've yet to get that money back, and had no responses when contacting them.

Customer abuse fee

I am using source over a year already and until two days ago I haven’t had any problems with them.
I lost my source card unfortunately and as I have a full-electric car, I need almost daily to charge it for work purposes.

The only charging point near my flat is the source ones and nothing else.

So two days ago I realise I lost my card and I did try to charge my car as pays you go because I rely on it to work.

Although source charge people £49 fee deposit every single time when you charge your car. It means until my replacement card arrives, every day source will take £49 pounds as a deposit for me to charge my car as pays you go?
😱 this is mental!!!

They will refund me back in seven working days.

I strongly believe this is a really customer’s abuse as I have subscription with them and still they would take as a deposit £49 pounds daily regarding every time when I charge my car.

I am very disappointed and frustrated the way source deal with this.

Why £49 daily as a deposit? Refundable in seven working days even for someone whom has subscription? That’s mad

The only point for the source company does this extremely disgusting behaviour is:
Any company when keep in its bank account huge amount of money, the bank itself offer to the company a huge amount of credit and therefore the credit offered to the source is possible because of the customers money, £49 pounds deposit fee without reason for those who already has subscription with them?

I do hope so they will look into this and find a better solution for the sake of its customers

Very disappointing

Was very excited when I joined Source at the prospect of being able to conveniently charge my Hybrid (had not read the reviews on here - big mistake) but my experience was really disappointing. Consistently charged idle fees when my car was charging. Would not really have been an issue if their 'customer services' responded to any of the emails I sent on it. The team on the phone (when it got answered) were very nice but did not seem to be able to actually do anything to help. They did eventually respond but only when I requested cancelling my subscription. Given the number of charging points around me, they seem to have a virtual monopoly in my area which if I remember correctly from school is never a good thing.

Worst charging network ever created

Worst charging network. It never works and the website is terrible. Tried to plug in at a space near Wimbledon Village and it just wouldn't start charging but held £49 anyway. Gave up after 20 minutes of messing around on the website. Why doesn't it just accept contact less like every other charger? Never again.

Worst charging network in the UK

Source London has to have the worst network of charging points, a terrible app and non existent customer service. Their only saving grace is when you do speak to a representative on the phone for help at a charge point they are wonderful. Anything beyond that is absolute rubbish. They should have their network taken away from them and passed onto a company that can actually run it. Also as an electric car owner living in a flat the charging structure is a total rip off.

Absolutely horrendous experience

Absolutely horrendous experience. Charged £49 initially when I plugged in. Used around £29 just filling up my car to 100% which is an absolutely ridiculous price, because it included an idle charge of £7 for a couple of hours. Fair enough (I didn’t read the ts and cs) but I wanted the rest of my money back and, a week later, I still haven’t had it. I called source London, waited 15 minutes on hold, only to be told that the bank was holding the money and that they couldn’t do anything about it. I’ve since raised a dispute with my bank. This is the worst EV charging experience I have ever experienced. Every other charge point instantly gives you back the money you haven’t spent on charging. Why does source London take seven working days to give your money back. And even after that period of time I still haven’t had it! I would never ever use this company again.

My badge (card) is not working hence I'm unable to charge my vehicle, 4 weeks and counting. I'm already on the 5th call to Source London Costumer (dis) service but to no avail!! I'm now looking for alternatives as this is just not worth it....

I'm just flabbergasted with the amount of awful reviews here and in other places and Hammersmith & Fulham + others keep on allowing this rip off, incompetent lot operate and pretty much make our lives more difficult than they already are!

Today, Saturday 25th of June and still no action from Source London. They are indeed the biggest scam around! Still wondering who allows this lot to operate!

2 Hr 30 min charge

2 Hr 30 min charge. 8.8Kw= £7.84. I could buy over 4 litres of petrol for that price at $1.85/litre. Its cheaper to buy Petrol than use an EV at these rates. The units work in the part of London where have a flat BUT the rate is ridiculous and the GBP49.00 Debit Hold is also ridiculous although at these rates maybe an avg charge is £15-£20. In comparison a lamppost charge was c. £1.80. Unfortunately whilst I own a place in London I don't have residents permit and all the lampost charges are in Resident Parking Bays. Echo what everyone else states. Customer Support, Pricing and reliability is terrible.

Rubbish company - Avoid if possible

Applied for residential permit but card arrived not registered to my account so couldn’t use the card. Had to use public charging rate as I needed a charge and was charged £30 occupancy rate with zero charge registered even though car actually charged. Have been paying the subscription rate for months but have never been able to actually use the reduced subscription rates. Customer service take your details but are powerless to do anything, they just pass it on to someone else. Charges are higher than competitors even at residents rates. And you need a special card to charge even in these days of QR codes, Apple Pay and app based charging. I don’t know how they keep going

London councils shouldn't allow source london

To echo other reviews. Terrible customer service and reliability of charge points. Charge points are large and ugly. Charges are extortionate - there's no way owning an electric car is sustainable with costs a service like this. London councils need to find reliable sustainable solutions to encourage a transition to cleaner electric cars. So far ubertricity seems to be the best option in terms of reliability, cost and street aesthetics

Seems like a scam to me

I'll echo what others have said about poor customer service. I have 4 pending charges for £49 on my account currently which is absolutely mad. I use Source charging every few days as it's the only local charging point. I have been waiting nearly 3 months for a resident badge to be sent after subscribing. I have called customer support at least 5 times and had little to no follow up. I can't understand why it would take so long for them to send me a card in the mail and why there has been no follow up.

It appears that this company is delaying sending my resident badge so that I am forced to pay standard rates which are double what I should be paying. This is shameful that they are cheating people at times when energy costs are so high. They've offered absolutely no compensation for my overpayment.

STAY AWAY!! SCAM COMPANY!!!

Source London customer service are by far the worst customer service team I’ve ever been in contact with. They are all incompetent and have no idea how to handle or resolve disputes. I’ve waited over 1 month to be refunded my £49 that was charged to my account even though the charging port never charged my car. Use a different company’s charging point and avoid source London at all costs. Their team are beyond useless and pass you from pillar to post. Nobody gets back to you. I truly believe this company is fraudulent and they scam people out of their money and give you an email address to complain to- which of course nobody ever responds to. Stay away from source London please!!! They are beyond awful!!!!!
