Spain Building & Maintenance team were absolutely fantastic. We recently had a severe leak and water damage. The insurance company recommended the team to review and carry out the work required. The entire team, with special thanks to Ian and Corey, alongside the workmen; Ben, Charlie, Billy, Chris, James, Lee, Luke, Tony and Paul, have all been professional and committed to resolving our stressful situation. Excellent communication, strong worth ethic, and skilled to a high standard. Thank you to you all. Would definitely recommend.

Spain were contracted by insurance loss adjuster to undertake work following major damage to my 95 year old father's bungalow when a tree fell on his roof during storm Claudia. Work is now nearing completion and has been undertaken to a high standard. Special thanks to Holly and Blane who undertook the redecoration of 3 rooms to a high standard with minimal disruption for my father. Thank you

Storm Claudia in November took my roof off and torrential rain poured into my upstairs for days and ruined most of my bedroom. I am a lone, vulnerable, pensioner and to say I was devastated is an understatement. Spain builders were the people who came to put it right. It didn’t happen overnight but every one of their team were excellent at their trade. They worked as a team, if one had forgotten to do something another team member would see it and put it right or make sure it was put right. Every one was courteous, friendly and professional, took pride in the job at hand and did that job to an excellent standard. They worked above and beyond what was needed. Ian, the plasterer, wouldn’t leave until he was happy the job was done to his high standard, Paul left my home looking immaculate, Hollie and Blaine did excellent paint job, too many others to mention but they all treated my home with respect, cleaning up everything before they left for the day. I can’t speak highly enough of the team that helped me and they didn’t have it easy, they put up with an extremely emotional old woman who wanted it all done, yesterday, with complete understanding and caring. I can’t recommend Spain highly enough. I hope I never have to go through anything like storm damage again but if I do I truly hope Spain will look after me. Jennifer is the lady who led this team and I hope she’s proud, because they all did her proud. Finally, Rosie was wonderful, I rang her and cried and ranted and she calmly helped me solve any problem. I give praise when praise is due so a big thank you to Spain. I’m eternally grateful to you all

An exceptional experience with SPAIN.
I had a long-standing disguised toilet leak of which entered the electrics of my property and unfortunately affected my bathroom significantly.
The walls beneath the tiles, the floor covering, alongside the actual structural floorboards and joists themselves were really damaged from the long-standing hidden water. Disappointingly, some of the bathroom suite itself was consequently damaged due to an emergency plumber (external to Spain) who tried to locate the leak in such urgency and recklessly.
Even the original ceiling below the bathroom (above an artificial one) had collapsed. Sadly, We genuinely loved our original traditional bathroom - ‘a little outdated tile wise’ but absolutely beautiful and in keeping with the property, a new floor, utility cabinet and expensive taps, etc.
Our insurance company left us with no downstairs lighting and a ripped out bathroom for 5 months before consulting Spain. The blame was passed, but it turns out - our insurance provider had left the claim totally dormant for all those months! Spain had not even been contacted yet or any other contractual company allocated for that matter.
After contacting Trading Standards and the Financial Ombudsman Service to escalate things in desperation - the insurance panicked and instructed SPAIN.
It was only then, things began to proceed and the narrative started to change.
Firstly, I’d like to highlight my sheer inexplainable gratitude to two specific people of ‘SPAIN’ before describing my personal experience.
The Contracts Manager ‘Jennifer’ was my first point of call as works were about to commence. She initially came to my property to analyse the damage and discuss how things would proceed. During the whole 3 months of SPAIN working in my property - I was extremely distressed as my insurance company accidentally moved me a 50 mile round trip into temporary accommodation. I could not cope mentally living away from home and having strangers in my property, with no control whatsoever.
Jennifer telephoned me most days, at her detriment! She dealt with a lot of anger, frustration, erratic behaviour and emotional outbursts from myself.
Simultaneously, Jennifer always responded with nothing but professionalism, patience and empathy and reassured me throughout.
I had a few hiccups where I complained: I didn’t want my toilet used by contractors (due to being immunocompromised).
Jennifer had a porta-loo delivered immediately. My doorstep was accidentally damaged whilst contractors carried heavy equipment in and out (ps. It was fragile due to ceramic tiles being used by previous house owner). She Rectified immediately. If any other without-intent incidence’s occurred, Jennifer would come out to site to assess and rectify. The promptness and the efforts were always second to none. Jennifer ensured my home was treated with upmost dignity and respect at all costs. I also want to reiterate, Jennifer proved to be nothing but an empathic pillar of strength and support during what was an extremely horrendous time.
Trigger warning: I have a psychiatric disorder that leaves me very suicidal.
Jennifer consecutively went above and beyond to assist my emotional distress, alongside facilitating constant assessment and audit of the works carried out. She was persistent in safeguarding my property and guaranteed impeccable standards of her tradesmen's works throughout.
I initially doubted the competence of everyone involved within my property. The insurance company had already set the precedent and sadly everyone else got the backlash! The works carried out have been second to none! Regarding Spain, From Joinery, Plumbing, Tiling, Electrician works, Plastering, Decorators and more, SPAIN really excelled. Now I need to greatly emphasise the plumber/tiler Danny’s his exemplary skills beyond imagination! The work carried out and the attention to detail has been exceptional. I can’t find one single fault with the full bathroom he has completed from timber structure, fitted suite, tiling and all fittings. I payed £7000 for a new bathroom in a property a few years ago which genuinely doesn’t even compare.
Who would’ve thought the contractual works of an awful insurance claim could be so incomparable and of such superiority.
Need I say more? The Contracts Manager Jennifer and Danny the Plumber/Tiler have been phenomenal and deserve some recognition. Let-alone, the entensive multi trades involved who I whole heartedly feel in debt to and cannot begin to name!
To the CEO of Spain Building & Maintenance LTD, I hope you acknowledge this with the integrity and value that it deserves!!

Openreach engineer drilled through a water pipe in our living room when installing full fibre causing a lot of damage. From the moment of contact with Spain’s claim manager Jennifer everything was taken care of with the minimum of disruption. All the trades from the plasterer to the decorators to the plumber were courteous, friendly and professional in their work. Holly, Blaine, Tony, Paul and plumber Joe were skilled and did a great job. We were kept informed and are very pleased with the finish of the work carried out. We would have no hesitation in recommending Spain Building and Maintenance.

We were allocated Spain Building as part of an insurance claim, not by choice, and unfortunately the experience has been very disappointing.

Their coordination and project management have been extremely poor. Even the simplest jobs have been plagued by delays, unclear next steps, and a lack of follow-through. Documentation has been inconsistent or missing altogether, and communication is very fragmented.

We have repeatedly struggled to get hold of anyone, with calls and messages often going unanswered. When updates do arrive, they are frequently incomplete or contradict what we were previously told. This has made an already stressful insurance claim far harder than it needs to be.

Given that this work is taking place in a live household, clearer communication, proper planning, and basic accountability are essential — and sadly have not been present.

The experience so far suggests a company that may be overstretched or lacking in effective project management and client communication. THE BELOW RESPONSE IS AN INACCURATE VIEW OF EVENTS

Paul, top man. Always on the end of the phone and got on with supporting us at our end. Patient with us and got onto the workers when we needed to push on with the work. A genuine good guy.

My 78 year old mother was left without a downstair bathroom for 4 months.

Please avoid this company, they came to repair my mother's bathroom which had some water damage to the floorboards. During this repair, they managed to smash the bathroom suite. After several weeks They then offered to replace parts of the the bathroom suite with different coloured items. Long story short, my 78 year old mother was left without a downstair bathroom for 4 months.

In the end, I had to pay a local bathroom fitter to undo what Spain had done, then install a new bathroom.

I've seen other negative comments for this company, Spain building are keen to play the fake review card. I will happily share my many emails exchanges with Spain to prove what an awful company they are.

Spain was appointed by insurers to restore our property following a serious burst water pipe which caused extensive damage.

Overall Spain performed well enough. The timescale could have been reduced with better project management since some tasks were done out of sequence resulting in them having to be readdressed subsequently. We were very impressed with Spain’s tradesmen, however, who were in general highly skilled and very professional.

Despite some frustrations we were very satisfied with the end result.

We had 2 claims,one required a rebuild, the other was a very difficult to locate water leak. Both of the jobs were managed by Paul Cassidy. We are so grateful for his professionalism. He kept us consistently informed of progress throughout both claims. There couldn't have been anybody better to handle them.

We can’t thank this company enough! After a really stressful experience with poor work from a previous contractor, we were very nervous about letting someone else back into our home. From start to finish, they completely put us at ease. They kept us updated throughout the process, and when we returned home everything was left clean, tidy, and finished to such a high standard. You can really tell they take pride in their work. We’re so grateful for the care and effort they put in – it made all the difference. Highly recommended!

Spain building were appointed by my Insurance company after a major water leak damaged the whole of our property, whilst away on holiday. I was initially apprehensive as I had never heard of the firm. Having met Nathan, he put my mind at rest and assured me that everything would be completed to a high standard. After a 4 month dry out period, Nathan supplied us with a 3 month schedule of works, breaking down each task and dates to be completed. True to his word the works were carried out on time and to a very high standard. As expected of a job this size there were snags, but each one was resolved with the minimum of fuss. I explained to Nathan from the off, that if my wife was happy, I would be also and she is delighted with the end result. Met many staff members throughout the 3 month period and each turned up when they said they would and lived up to their promises. Alongside Nathan, special mention to Billy, Robbie and Tony who all went above and beyond in a friendly manner. After a fire demolished the house next door and spread to ours,it was in a sorry state through fire and water damage. Then Spain Builders worked their magic on it.It has been renovated to such a high standard, they've done a brilliant job, and we are more than happy to recommend them.

Very friendly and efficient craftspeople. From the man who set up the fans to dry my walls out after leaky water valve bursting , the plasters, the decorators who help me to put cabinets back on the wall, the electrician who but up six attractive spotlights up.
I would recommend Spain Builders to anyone.

Hi from the first time Spain arrived the job was going to be a good one. Paul Cassidy was the surveyor and manager. He put my mind at rest straight away. Within a couple of hours he had his brilliant men on site and explained everything that was going to need doing. He had all the boys lined up to do each individual job. Skip delivered next day and the work began and oh what work was needed 😫Paul then organised for Emma-Lee from Hawdons to come and design updated units. She was fab. Paul Cassidy returned a second time to assist me with choosing the tiles I would need. Nothing was too much trouble for him. He was in regular contact me and solved any worries I had. Each individual workmen worked very hard all day and did a magnificent job. 2xChris's . Carl. Blaine.Ben and Ryan plus numerous others all brilliant. I cannot fault any of their work. I thank you soooo much Paul and everyone of you for helping what was a traumatic experience into a smooth running operation. If you manage to get Chris who did my plumbing and tiling. I used Spainbuilding through my home insurance to resolve a leaking issue in my home. The company subcontracted parts of the job to different firms, which made the process a bit tiring as I had to coordinate with several teams.

The entire project—including repairing the water leak and replacing the flooring—took about three months. During this time, I interacted with various staff members and administrators from Spainbuilding.

The reason I’m writing this review is to highlight the exceptional support I received from one of their administrators, Rosie Davison. Rosie handled my case with great professionalism. She was proactive, responsive, and always kept me informed about the progress. Despite the challenges I was facing, she made the experience far more manageable by following up regularly, coordinating with the different contractors, and clearly communicating every step of the way.

I'm truly grateful for her assistance. Her outstanding performance deserves recognition, and I hope the management at Spainbuilding acknowledges what a valuable team member they have in Rosie.

Within the space of four months, Spain transformed our house from a wreck (collapsed ceilings, flood damage) to something that resembled a beautiful new home.

We were happy with every element of Spain’s operation: the builders, joiners, electricians, floor layers & decorators. All have been efficient & courteous. Highly recommended.
