I would not even give them a 1 if I didn’t have to, But I’ve had a brand new portable basket ball hoop for over a month the pole will not go together… it clearly states if you have a problem putting the pole together call them .. on the instructions…. So they must know it doesn’t work. But now they are saying wait another month till July .. I bought it in April and they told me 5 days then 10 days then end of the month.. Then they kept hanging up on me , never answered emails nothing
So the summer will be gone and my grandson can’t play .

Spalding Customer Service Agents Must Hate Their Jobs

This company has the worst customer service ever. Do yourself a favor and save lots of time and money by never buying their products. But if you do happen to buy or get stuck with a basketball set from them, keep your original receipt, box, and everything, so that you can return it to whoever you purchased it from. So, even though they tell you in the instruction manual, "If you have problems or need replacement parts, do not take it back to the store, call Spalding Customer Service first," ignore this and take it back anyway because Spalding Customer Service will make your situation much worse.
The first set I purchased had a damaged base, so all I needed was another base shipped to me to complete the assembly. However, their wicked customer service people kept claiming they weren't receiving the warranty claim form. After going back and forth and sending it several more times, then reading reviews on Trustpilot, I finally figured out that they were lying about not receiving it, so that they wouldn't have to honor the warranty or ship out replacement parts that would allow me to complete the assembly. I went back and forth with them for two weeks before I finally decided to just take it back and get a refund. Since I really liked the set, I returned it and purchased another just like it.
However, I had a problem with it too because the pole comes in three parts that have to be inserted into each other to make one long pole. Then, these poles have to go down far enough into each section to line up more holes in order for the height adjustment handle to be installed. But a problem occurs when it is nearly impossible to get the holes to line up because the ends of the metal poles are too big to fit down into each other far enough for the holes to align. The instructions say to "insert the poles, then bang them down on a wooden board to get the ends down in far enough to make the holes line up." But this is impossible, and now you have a 60-pound 8-foot pole stuck together without the holes lining up to install the height adjustment, that won't fit back into the original box so that you can return it where you purchased it.
If you do happen to get the poles stuck before you can get the holes aligned, your only option will be to cut the pole and weld it back together with the holes aligned. They'll tell you in the instructions that if you can't get these holes aligned in the second stage of the installation process, to stop the project and call customer service so that they can send you out a new set of poles. But, this is a lie, and exactly when the customer service nonsense starts.
I'm sure their customer service people are aware of these ongoing issues, and now, since they know you can't return it, they will take you through hell until you give up or take a loss. So, instead of their customer service agent simply rushing out another set of poles and then providing a better way of lining up the new set so that I could complete my assembly, they kept saying that they weren't receiving the warranty claim form that I had emailed to them at least six times. I spoke with one person who was aware of the problem and told me the next time I assemble the poles, "take a metal file and file down the metal and paint at the end of each section of the pole that gets inserted, then it will go down far enough for the holes to line up." This information would have saved me and many others like me lots of time and heartache if it had simply been put into the instruction manual. I have more incidents where I was treated disrespectfully by their "lack of" customer service team, but I think most of you will get the point.
I honestly believe their customer service people are being treated badly too or hate working for this company so much and are trying to take them down by treating customers badly, and making them go away. I fail to believe that their management isn't aware of these issues. I asked to speak to a manager several times, but was hung up on or put on hold forever. Spalding is renowned for making good basketballs, but they don't seem to care about customer service or anything else they sell, especially the basketball goal sets.

I have been getting the runaround from…

I have been getting the runaround from customer service for weeks. I have asked for a supervisor to call me and they will not, I filed a claim with the BBB, and the response they sent back left most of the story out. I have sent several follow-up emails in the last week and they have not received a response. I was told no one would call me because I hung up on a customer service representative. When I informed them that I didn't just hang up, after they put me on hold for 15 minutes with no warning, I told them that I needed their supervisor to call me back. After much back and forth, they said they would, and I said I'm getting off of the phone now, and hung up. Spalding has had zero accountability for all of this. My goal broke during construction, after following the advice of a Spalding representative when I called in, the customer service I received was misleading, originally I was told new poles would be in within 30 days, but during this chat it got pushed to June, and then I was told that receiving the poles wasn't an option by another rep. The three options I have been give are to receive a refund (which I was told would take 8-12 weeks), get a goal with a smaller backboard, or pay an upcharge for a goal with the same size backboard as the one we purchased. If I hadn't been treated so poorly but Spalding customer service I would have happily paid the upcharge but I don't think any company that cares about their consumers would even dream of doing this. Why can't I get someone on the phone who isn't hateful? Why is customer service so hard for Spalding to achieve? I have never heard of a company refusing to call a customer. Not allowing me to talk to someone makes it appear like either 1. this request is not getting to the right person or 2. Spalding just doesn't care and is ok with sending misleading responses to the BBB and treating customers like garbage.

I stayed at this hotel in Spalding from…

I stayed at this hotel in Spalding from 26th March 2025 (check-in at 3 PM) to 27th March 2025 (check-out at 12 noon), and my experience was extremely disappointing.

I had booked and paid for a room with one bed for two adults, but instead, I was placed in a family room, which was not what I had requested. On top of that, the entire place had a strong, unpleasant odor, forcing me to keep the windows open throughout my stay just to make it bearable. To make things worse, there was no bin provided anywhere in the room, which made my stay even more inconvenient.

Due to this misrepresentation and poor conditions, I am formally requesting a full refund of my payment. This was not the experience I expected, and I would not recommend staying here.

Really bad customer service

Really bad customer service. Don't order rim or hoop replacement parts from there website, if there are any issues with the product you will be stuck footing the bill since they don't have stores. They make you pay the shipping and then 15 percent restocking and so basically returning will cost more than the item itself. Plus the customer service agent couldn't help me figure out anything about the rim or the size or what "standard" meant.

I bought an Acrylic basketball goal…

I bought an Acrylic basketball goal that had damage out of the box. I submitted a claim to Spalding and they sent me a cheap polycarbonate backboard as a replacement and stated that they didn't have any Acrylic ones in stock and were discontinuing that goal. They would not send a partial refund or anything so basically I paid for a $400 basketball goal and wound up with a $200 goal. I also went to Academy, where I bought the goal and they surprisingly opened up 2 more goals to try to give me another one out of the box and in both cases the frame was separated from the glass. I will never buy another Spalding product and strongly recommend that others stay away from there cheap products and sorry customer service as well

NO Customer Support

Update 7/20/2024 --
Spalding/Dudley did respond and this issue has been resolved with them sending me a new bag. I'm still not quite sure going on with the warranty/support for their bags but it appears to be an issue with outsourcing this support to another company.

This bag developed a tear in a seam almost immediately. You can see where the stitching was off and thus the tear. But the real issue is Spalding customer support is simply awful. After filling out online support request with picture of the issue I have received the same exact response from Spalding/Dudley several times --

Thank you for contacting Spalding.

to Spalding

Can you please get back with me ASAP or you leave me NO choice but to start posting this awful experience with Google and Amazon and every review site I can find on the internet. I hate to do this being a big fan of both the Dudley bats and gloves. Once again, please review previous responses and the original pictures to your customer support. And as stated several times -

Can Spalding please call this number and confirm you talked someone from this so called -- Company: Premium Bags Phone Number: 800.366.1599

Just please call this number. I beg you to call the number. It is set up to SCAM people and nothing more. So why do you keep telling me to call this number?

I find this situation unbelievable when you consider as I've been a long time customer of their slow-pitch softball and bats and gloves and for a company I consider a fairly major player in the sports industry.

Please do NOT purchase this bag unless you're willing to take a chance on getting a defective product that will not be replaced.

Don't expect any replacement parts!

I bought a Spalding Beast basketball system 8 months ago. Despite a base full of sand, the wind took it over and shattered the backboard. I can get a replacement backboard, but some of the parts that are required to install (and can't be reused from the old system) are not available. Seriously, less than a year, >$2000 price tag, and now the best they can do it "buy another one." Abominable!
