So angry with this company

So angry with this company. They offered my mum the newest phone with a 900 discount then charged her full price when she queried it they told her she wasn't on the right plan to qualify though they've admitted she's on an outdated plan that they don't have anymore. My mum has been fighting to return the phone as it hasn't been opened and she doesn't want it at the full price and the team at spark have been absolutely useless. They have mucked her around until she was outside of the 7 day window and now are telling her it's too late to return. Absolutely devastated how many other people have they screwed over like this my mum is tired and old and just doesn't have the strength to fight them over it anymore is so giving up. I however will be posting bad feedback on her behalf on any review sites for spark I can find. Hope everyone here has a beautiful day xx

Horrendous service

My flat is using the Max Fibre Broadband.

Their customer service is abysmal, their internet frequently disconnect and/or dropping speed (from ~900Mbps to only ~40Mbps). Go for other ISP.

Someone seriously needs to take this stupid company to court. Their data plans are absolute garbage and they are OPENLY ripping people off. Their modems are over priced for how they operate and all of their services just aren’t worth it in the end. Greedy company with no integrity.

I got my daughter a pre paid phone when she was 14, 10yrs ago - as I paid the bills for the first few years her a/c was attached to mine. Now she has had 2 unauthorised direct debits taken out of her bank by Spark - when asked for details they wouldn't tell her, said only I could ask 🤷‍♂️ - when I called, some clueless operator Cherry Lou Gaupo !! Who I assume isn't NZ based, wouldn't give me any information because I couldn't tell her my daughters recent payment actions !!

Rip pensioners off

They let my mother pay for the unplanned amount per call and text spending over $100 in 2 weeks. They wouldn't call her back, their website service for prepay made no sense for older people as if they have all done this by design.

You know what they do, corporate scum! No apologies or refunds. The fellas are the telecom shop also have about as much customer service as my toilet dishes out on a bad day.

NZ has fallen into control of corps and we have only ourselves to blame.

DO NOT USE SPARK

My husband and I have had nothing but trouble with Spark. They claimed we had not paid a month (6 months ago!!!!!) Every month we have to call to get our phones reconnected and to be asked to send proof of payment which we do EVERY SINGLE TIME. They say yes we have received and we ask please please please phone us if there are any issues just for the same thing to happen the following month. I ask them to look at our proof of payment we have sent through time and time again and they say nothing is attached to our file so we resend and so on..... Such rubbish customer service. DO NOT SIGN UP. Finally have made the decision to move on after years of being loyal customers.

If I could give zero stars I would I…

If I could give zero stars I would I have never come across such incompetence in my life. They spend more time making sure it's your account than actually solving your problem, which is that despite telling them we were moving and being reassured that all we had to do was plug in our modem, three days on and we still have no internet. What a joke a telecommunications company that doesn't communicate.

Worst reception ever.

Joined after being with OneNZ for five years as they had a good deal on at the time.
One week after joining Spark I constantly had no data working where I work in Mount Wellington. I had messages trying to send for 35 minutes.
I went into the Sylvia Park Spark and they told me "Sorry, it must just be a bad spot you're in"
I was standing in the spark shop and it still wasn't sending.

He said the only solution would be to go join back up with OneNZ, which is appalling.

Spark lost there way unprofessional support and no help

Three hours waiting on the phone to SPARK finally answered to have young children screaming in the background, and no one to talk for what seemed like 5 minutes. explained the problem, then total silence. She hung up It was like a daycare centre.
Spark shop in Dunedin talked me into a new phone as l had a cracked screen on my 5G phone. told the salesperson l was planning an overseas trip l was talked into a 4 G phone and was paying it off now only to find out it will not work in many of the countries I am visiting. So now have a phone not suitable for the purpose l don't even own.
It seems every time l make any contact with Spark l get unsolicited scam emails headed Spart and from weird email addresses. I was given from there so-called expert trouble shooter who can solve problems gave me an email address to forward the scam mail l am certain it comes from them, ok let me forward to the address securityandabuse@ spark.co.nz
And the message back could not be delivered as it was detected as a scam or spam. Spark is full of amateurs, time wasters.
l hope this gets read and it makes you think before you buy and don't waste your own time by phoning as that are not there to help OR ANSWER A PHONE IN REASONABLE TIME FRAME they put you through to a day care centre.
The treatment l have had must be because everyone at Spark is still in kindergarten below date is from the start of my experiences up until today

SPARKKK Fading Away!!!

I have been a Spark Customer for many Years.
Honestly they have Lost THE SPARKKKK.
Last 2 Years they have being bumping up the Monthly plans by $5.00 to provide better service but the Customer service is moved & handled from different country where the staff does not even have 0.01% of Empathy towards the Customer/s. Spark emailed stating they are increasing the price and when we request to put a hold to the Service they say that we need to give them 1 month notice which was not mentioned at start of service and address it to refer to T & C's. Its a Big Disappointment.

This company is scamming people. Avoid this service provider at ALL COSTS. Customer service is abysmal, and the company scams you by putting extra charges on your invoice! How sneaky. Goodluck trying to resolve any issue with Spark too, the customer service team are useless. Would rate negative 3 if possible. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

if i could give less than 1 star i would. tring to purchase a broadband plan with these clown is the worst exp ever, website broken so signed up and tried app, I get to cart stage of purchase and it makes you message somebody (not sure why) who doesnt know why you are messaging them, they will make you start again if they answer at all ! im 3 days deep, just gave up in the end. went to skinny mobile

Signed up to the $49 travel plans while…

Signed up to the $49 travel plans while I was visiting in New Zealand for seven days in early June. The most annoying part of the experience with dealing with the helpdesk you can’t actually talk to a support person. They have a contact button on the Support page which brings up a window which is called chat but as I found out is not actually Chat. You type in your question and a bot response to clarify the nature of the inquiry. Then you could be waiting for up to 24 hours or more to get a response so you need to be vigilant to make sure that you don’t miss seeing the written response from an operator. Otherwise, you could be waiting longer and longer to get your matter resolved if at all.. at the end of the day my question wasn’t resolved to my satisfaction but enough said that I did find their Support particularly poor compared to the Support offered in my home country Australia. Wouldn’t be recommending them if I knew that about the competition.

Don’t ever use spark, ripped off, is ridiculously overpriced.
Cancelled the plan twice as I left New Zealand and they kept sending me bills.

I've been with Spark for 9 years, what keeps me coming back? The product, no! but thats ok nothing unique about the offerings, However the team, its seems to me whomever they put in that store seems to know how to look after customers, Melissa has assisting for the past 2-3 years...AWESOME work Team.

Plan changed without authorisation

I never take too much notice of my bill as I have an AP that comes out each week. I happened to look at it yesterday and discovered they had changed my plan without authorisation. My daughter was on my plan paying $35 per month, I noticed they had increased this to $72. When I contacted them, they said nothing could be done as that plan was no longer available. I have since changed both plans, still more expensive and no more spotify included.. Crap!
