John arrived to answer our distress call (after 5pm which was great) and within the hour had found the troublesome leak. He was courteous (and very jolly!) and super efficient. Now awaiting the fun and games with the insurance company.

Anglian Water got in touch to inform us that our smart meter detected that we were using 75 litres per hour, day and night. This was very alarming news, as it wasn't obvious to me where the water was leaking from. I contacted SLD to seek expert assistance. Aaron arrived on time and got straight to work on the problem. With an array of high tech gadgets in his arsenal, it wasn't long before he was able to pinpoint the exact location of the leak under a concrete floor. He then advised me on next steps to take to get this resolved. We are no longer haemorrhaging water at an alarming rate. I'm happy with the price and service provided and would highly recommend SLD.

I had various leaks after using incompetent builders to do my refurbishment. We worked day and night to find them and solve the problem.I called Specialist Leaks Detection to assess the damage and test the health of my water system and to confirm my whole system is water tight.
John King came to do the health check and spent exactly 4 hours testing every single pipe connection and did various thorough tests to make sure there were no further leaks.
I was in a state of panic after all the pressure put on me to find the leaks and prior to his visit had almost destroyed my flat to find the problem. My builder found leaks and fixed them but I wanted to be absolutely sure there would be no further problems.

I asked John to check every single connection and to make sure it is safe for me to put the water on.
He was attentive, courteous , and gave thorough analysis in his written report.

We contacted Specialist Leak Detection to assist in identifying a persistent roof leak in a complex comercial building. Multiple previous contractors had been unable to resolve it properly or even locate the source. Arron met us on site at the agreed time and systematically tested and proved potential sources until successfully locating the points of ingress. He maintained great communication throughout the whole process, he was respectful of the clients access protocols in a secure environment and came presented as highly skilled and knowledgeable operator who we would recommend wholeheartedly.

I contacted the Specialist Leak Company after discovering that I had a difficult slow leak somewhere in my lounge, under the wooden floor and somewhere in the concrete below it. My usual plumber was not confident in finding the problem.

Aaron arrived promptly as arranged and swiftly got to work using the array of non-evasive techniques they have at their disposal. He explained thoroughly what he was doing and showed me the thermal imagery of where he detected a leak in a pipe between my radiators. He was spot on and it has now been fixed. Very happy with the service.

First class service from John King, who is knowledgeable, polite and was extremely confident that he would find the Leak, which he did. Had all the necessary advanced equipment. Infrared did not work but pressurising the central heating system with a gas did work and the meter detected the leak very fast. The only negatives are as follows:

I was advised what the hourly charge would be if I exceeded the four hours max and it turned out that the rate was higher than the hourly rate paid for the first four hours which, to me, is not logical and

Whilst John King explained the logic as to why, for some leaks (including a leak in the central heating system) they were not able to give me money back guarantee, the advertising on site does indicate that they will not charge if they do not locate the leak. This is very bad advertising and, if the company wants to be regarded as an honest company, it will clarify in its advertising exactly where it stands on this point.

I give a five star rate as they were promoted in coming out, they kept me informed about their arrival time, the investigation person was professional and polite at all times keeping us informed on the process and his findings. The company have been very prompt in getting a written report out to us, which is exactly what we required.
My only negative comment would be that they didn’t explain that the cost would be charged to my card after the visit. Which left us thinking we were in a venerable position. But we were not at all they were completely trustworthy!

This is my first review but I feel that the company deserve some credit, recently I had a leak under a concrete floor the two company employees that arrived to locate the leak arrived promptly, were very courteous and very efficient in there job, after they located the leak they kept in touch to make sure the repair was completed satisfactorily ,

Very smooth and professional service. As promised, Tyler found the leak, hidden under the kitchen floor boards and 10 cm of screed. And then he repaired it. Very clever and exactly what we were looking for. Got it repaired with only having to remove one floorboard. Thoroughly recommend.

We had a slow leak in our mains water supply somewhere between the busy road outside our house and the stop-cock in our kitchen. It was far from easy to find, and Aaron patiently searched for it using the gas detection technique. The sound detection technique was no good for us owing the heavy traffic on the road. After nearly four hours he finally found the leak and fortunately for us it is in a flower bed in our front garden. Aaron was careful, thoughtful, considerate and determined to find our leak. We are looking forward to receiving his report and recommendations. This is a professional company and I recommend them.

The engineer arrived in the timescale that we booked he called us to let us know he was on his way when he got here. He explained what he needed to do. He was very informative and professional and polite. He gave us advice about what action we need to take he was very helpful, I would have no problems recommending your company to anybody else if they were in our situation

They made mistakes and refused to refund. Their sister company is an insurance claims consultancy. Their rep told me Specialist Leak Detection pay £30 to £60 for five star reviews. That is significant because I selected them purely because of the good reviews on Trustpilot. The rep may have been incorrect but why would he say it if it wasn't true?
Luckily I was present when they returned to do the repair, otherwise they might have cut through the floorboards unnecessarily.

I would not use them again.

Their reply below is incorrect. The rep from their sister company said they do pay for good reviews. On the first visit (£350) they identified two leaks, and gave me a price (£2000) for finding and fixing both. But I insisted they fix the first one before tearing up the floor boards to get to the second one. Lo and behold - after the first was fixed - no more leak, so no need to tear up the floorboards - and so quite reasonable to ask for a refund. In fact they shoudl have offered a refund. they claim one of the leaks had "sealed itself up"

The only people to call for leak detection. They have all the most advanced equipment and highly trained specialist. The area of the leak was pinpointed in the first visit, and then the excavation team exposed the buried pipe and repaired this a few days later. Professional, highly skilled and friendly service.

John King was excellent, very professional and worked hard to make sure he thoroughly went through a big site to find the leak and issue.

He arrived onetime, briefed us and was also great with his honest advice.

This is company Is lucky to have such a great guy !
