It has been months of going back and forth with this firm for an error they performed on a land registry document. The whole situation seems like a foul play on their part, and I cannot refinance my property for the last few months. I decided to go to their office in London to speak to someone and get the matter ironed out, but the point of contact in the firm refused to acknowledge or see me as a client, although I saw them walk right past. My current solictor and mortgage broker have also sent countless emails without response. I will be seeking financial remediation, and the matter has already been reported to the SRA for investigation using the evidence we currently have available.

I therefore do not recommend their service at all!!!

Avoid at any cost specially Honey Shakeri. My purchase was completed in Nov 2022 but the title was never issued. Upon checking with Land Registry, I was informed that SL never responded to their queries and hence they cancelled my file. I chased SL so many times and they always claimed Land Registry is delaying my title completion, I am glad I now know the truth. SL has hired bunch of non professionals

Unfortunately, our experience with Spencer Lockwood started off rocky, with our first solicitor being unresponsive and the second leaving partway through the process. However, Anzl, our third solicitor, turned things around. He was efficient and successfully completed the purchase of our first home. We're grateful for Anzl's professionalism, which made the final stages slightly less painful.

Engaged Spencer Lockwood via my Mortgage adviser using OneDome service. Took over a month and some nudging to get a response for the initial onboarding doc to be agreed to be sent, but they didn't come. After a further nudge to get things moving, I got a call out of the blue that they would no longer be working with OneDome and did I want to continue with conveyancing with them. I declined as even my small independent over worked solicitors respond better and with more professionalism than this outfit. Coupled with the fact it appears they had not informed my mortgage company that they were decoupling from OneDome either. DO as you will with them but conveyancing is an age-old tried and tested process completed thousands of times a day by legal executives, most cases are bog standard straightforward, much like engaging with your clients... neither seemed to be proficiencies offered to me in this instance. Sorry but if you can't engage your clients well, they will forgive you NOTHING.

Completed purchase of property, difficult to deal with, they have in place a service standard of 2 to 3 days to reply to emails, so if it gets urgent,probably not the service for you as you will just get frustrated, will offer to better the service if you pay more or called expediting for a further hourly rate, 2 months now completed with an outstanding issue, emaied my contact point 3 times with no reply and just cant get via phone, tried twice already today and just rings out, my mortgage brojer has stopped using them also, so frustrating getting hold of anybody, just about to put a complaint in

If I could give zero stars, I would. Our experience with Spencer and Lockwood started well with Ria as our case handler, but the service took a nosedive once she left. After the handover to Maria, there was zero communication from the firm about the transition, and things only worsened. Maria often ignored our emails, and when we raised a complaint, she attempted to gaslight us, claiming she hadn't received any messages—unaware that we had proof of our correspondence.

Despite us reaching the exchange stage, there was no proactive communication. Updates were always a struggle to get, even when we repeatedly asked. After Maria, our case handler changed yet again, and I was shocked to find out that the new person had only started yesterday. Given the urgency of our completion date, assigning someone completely new with no direct contact and no awareness of our file is simply unacceptable.

This firm has added unnecessary stress and significant delays to an already challenging process. For anyone seeking reliability, transparency, and professionalism, I would strongly advise against using Spencer and Lockwood

The Solicitors have been amazing, supportive, right through the process of helping my mum get her property paperwork sorted. The reason I give it a 5 star is that they could also speak in Hindi which made the process easier for my family. They promptly answered our calls and emails too. Avoid them at all cost!

Updated - actually it turned out that logging all the various aspects with the land registry was missed, without me knowing until I tried and failed to sell the house the following year. These series of mistakes has cost me a significant amount of money, not to mention time and stress. NB I have still not had a refund for invoiced items that I paid for that were never done.

It's never easy pulling all the strings together for a deadline - I kept Anshuman Das at S.L posted regarding the deadline and despite one of the management companies we had to deal with being pretty terrible, it all came together in time in the end. Thanks!

Shocking and poor.
My solicitor never called me once.
That should say it all.
When I did manage to speak with Honey she just made excuses, we exchanged then I'm being asked to check the details for the stamp duty, of which the numbers was wrong. Not really sure what I paid for because I had no service. Not happy.

Spencer Lockwood were good for what we needed when purchasing our first home and one of the cheaper ones which we found, you get what you pay for. We had Anshuman dealing with our purchase and All of our questions were answered quickly. There was only a couple of things which we had to chase up but this is quite common with most solicitors. All in all we would use them again

SAKINA JAFFER -JUST AWFUL! AVOID AT ALL COSTS. SHOCKINGLY POOR SERVICE FROM SAKINA JAFFER. NEVER RESPONDS. WE HAVE LOST SEVERAL THOUSANDS OF POUNDS BECAUSE OF HER INADEQUACY AND INEFFICIENCY.

Spencer Lockwood did not act for us thank god, but they did act for our buyer, and they were absolutely awful! They asked our solicitor for the same documents over and over again, and took days to respond to anything that our solicitor had sent over. Moving dates were agreed and then got pushed back further because Spencer Lockwood were incapable of moving things along. We accepted the offer from our buyer in January and we didn't complete until September meaning our mortgage application for the house we are moving to has ended. It has been a total nightmare and as well as us, I felt sorry for our buyer who wanted to move into our property in May!!!!! Do not use these useless solicitors.

Our case Almost instantly was assigned to Ms Maria Trantie - who was acting on our behalf all the way for both sale of our property and a purchase of our new home. What can we say about the process …… with not a word of a lie - it was the best experience we had in this crazy world of long chain, many different solicitors to deal with , not to mention estate agencies …… Maria is next to none , she is efficient, professional, fast and very much keen to get the job done as fast as possible!! We could not have wished for a better solicitor to complete both transactions!!! If we ever had to go through the process again - we would do all we can to get Maria appointed again! Brilliant communication , professional advise when needed and completed transactions with a big push from her in the end - being in the middle
