Horrible music distributor

Horrible customer service that take weeks to reply (if they ever reply). My streams from Amazon Music don’t even show in my stats and earnings… Moreover, they decided to close down accounts (including mine), which is very unfair. They should improve their service and features before becoming so selective. To be honest, I’m glad I can finally use a better music distributor that offers decent service.

Spinnup closing down for ”bad artists”

Spinnup closing down from 19th of july for ”bad artist”, in there opinion. I paid for one year release. Now the songs will be taken down, before the one year has ended of course. Another example that Spinnup sucks.

Not Worth The Money & Time

Unless you have a massive following or appeal to a certain stereotypical popular demographic you are for the most part not going to have a very productive experience. Spinnup, I think 2 stars is much too many. Keep the 78 cents.

Good distributor overall, do not bother if you use Splice samples though

I like the general use of Spinnup. I actually think it's quite a good platform over-all but I can't give it 4 stars because of certain limitations that don't make sense to me.

I see a lot of negative reviews but I think a lot of people just don't respect time when it comes to music.

I've given all my releases minimum 4 week run time to make sure they're in stores on release date and they're usually there a couple weeks before, ready to go live on my streaming date.

It relies on the DSP's too so it's not just on the distributor which is important to know.

One thing I don't like about Spinnup and is the reason that I'm changing is that they don't allow you to deliver music to social media platforms that have Splice / Loop Master samples etc even when proof of license is shown.

They actually state this on their website: "samples from existing songs or online libraries [even free sample libraries] unfortunately won’t be allowed to opt-in for social monetisation, or social delivery.'

I use my music in my stories a lot and other people add my music to their instagram stories plus I had a marketing plan for instagram reels with this particular song so the fact that I couldn't send it to socials was really disappointing and massively anti-climatic for my release.

I'll be moving this song over to a different platform purely just to allow the opportunity for social delivery.

Their credit input is also quite confusing and worded differently to the DSP's. I just found it inconvenient.

It's a shame because other than this, I was fairly happy with Spinnup.

They use DIY artists as a cash cow

I distributed a song with them only last week and today I got an email saying that they are no longer distributing DIY artists and that I’d have to re upload with another distributor before July. They must have known about this decision for some time and yet have only just decided to tell their customers whilst still happy to take our money!

Shocking customer service and release issues.

Had 2 releases so far. The first one it took 2 weeks to access our accounts (Spotify etc.), and get it on the correct artist accounts, instead of someone else's. The second release has been fine, apart from being released on every music platform except apple music. This is a pain in itself, but on top of that we cannot contact customer service in any way to resolve this. I made a ticket with my problem, and I got an autogenerated response with articles that might help. I'm now stuck with no solutions, useless articles and no song on Apple music. I would never recommend this company as a distributor, and it is safe to say I will be switching to someone else who is more professional and helpful.

Spinnup is just an unhelpful and…

Spinnup is just an unhelpful and arrogant distributor which packaged themselves pretty on the outside.

1. Release date messed up.
They don't provide you time zone to choose when to release your music. You pick a date and trust me, that will not be your confirmed release date.

2. Probably the worst support out there.
You can email their support other than those pre-written solution on their website, only they won't solve your problems.
Worse thing worse they would resolved your ticket without giving you any detailed answer, which they basically just asked you to go F yourself with your problems while they are the one who caused the problems.

3. Falsed promised promo code
Believe me, Spinnup is just not as transparent as you think.
I believe most artists out there would want their releases to be perfect without any delayed or dissapointment to their audiences.
Spinnup promised an autogenerated promo code after a few hours the release is live.
But I waited more than 18 hours for me to get my promo code. AND YOU KNOW WHAT? The code they provide will not direct your audience to all available platform!
I suggest all artists out there do the direct link yourself with smarturl or other available platform.

They disappointed me

They disappointed me. I released my song today and haven’t even got my unique streaming code. I feel like crying as I wanted everything to be perfect and like I expected it should be. I’m actually in such a bad mood and I will never never use their service again this is the last song. Probably will move it to another service like distrokid

Avoid

Have been using Spinnup now for a couple of years and will now longer use them. My most recent upload was rejected because it "didn't meet" the store guidelines. They even mentioned that I don't create a new release, just to go on and edit whatever was wrong. When I got to Spinnup I found my release wasn't there at all so I was unable to edit. They don't even give a reason as to why your release was rejected. They only give a list of solutions to what the problem may be which just makes no sense. It's no help at all. I don't even feel like reaching out to their customer service team for help as they are awful.

The most annoying thing with these guys too is that they are very specific with what your single cover art looks like, if one random thing is off they will reject.

Not to mention I have two tracks out in stores but no promo links for them. I messaged customer service and all I got was "We're sorry there was a problem generating the link". No solution offered and we all know how important promo links are.

I say stay away at all costs. There are better distributors out there.

( Be Aware ) I am still owed 3 months…

( Be Aware ) I am still owed 3 months in Back Royalties from March, Now is July. I emailed the support team & they do not address the matter & assume things without Investigating or sending any Royalty Quarterly Statements then close the file number about your concern. Spotify had notified me that the company can reach out to the Spotify Royalty Team however this company did nothing.

As they are Based in Sweden I can not directly go to their offices. I Now cancelled my Account. Waste of time. Also they advertise that they are linked to UMG however when you check their Artists they are all from Europe. No Good if you live in Australia or another Country. Spotify had notified me that the company can reach out to the Spotify Royalty Team however this company did nothing.
