I love the intimate quality of this library .There are lots of nice combinations and articulations of instruments. It feels a hole that most orchestral libraries have. Get in there and experiment.

The Bernard Hermann Composer Toolkit is stunning. The articulations are many and varied, the combinations are unusual and exciting. The range of mic setups alone for each group is dazzling... You can feel the room right inside the DAW. It's a joy to play with and if you like your sound to be on the slightly menacing side of dramatic or are just a massive Hitchcock fan (or both) like me, you are in for a treat.
What an awesome piece of software
Great sounds. This is definitely a niche library. I wish that certain patches like "Trumpet & Xylo" also came as individual patches. The fact that they don't makes this seem like a repackaged product. Having said that... if you want that Bernard Herrmann sound (dry, sardonic) then this is the right library to get you there.
Spitfire has lived up to their reputation. Great libraries with numerous articulations. So flexible and easy to use. AND I love all of the support. Typically, if I have a question about how to use a library, I can watch the online tutorials, and my question will be answered. They answered my question before I asked it. I also love Bernard Herrmann, so when I saw this library, I had to get it. Love it! I also love to emote intense, menacing themes in my orchestration, and so this was right in my wheelhouse. Love it!
BHCT is a massive toolkit, both in terms of sonic potential on offer and in terms of the sheer amount of instruments that are included. All of which immediately inspire - right out of the box. The Spitfire team really struck gold with this idea and then a second time executing on the idea (which as we all know is WAY more difficult and therefore an even larger achievement). I have never before used a library with ensembles and sections, because I have always thought that DIY voice leading and orchestrating is "where it's at". This library has completely surprised me; I now realise just how much of that famous "elbow-to-elbow" magic is actually captured when sections are recorded together. It makes things easier in a way. The sound isn't completely dry and as a matter of fact it is so usable and convinving that it has made me consider SStO as a viable additional "option" as well. All in all I highly recommend this library to those who are maybe thinking about getting one of the Albions. The sound of this one is really pretty versatile and not restricted to vintage compositions at all, although some of the "baked in" orchestrations obviously do have that classic Benny Herrmann feel to it. Fantastic job Spitfire
A wonderful capture of the mind of Bernard Herrman. Inspirational orchestral themes and combinations of instruments.
Love it. This is a good library and helps with inspiration!
Excellent library Enjoy using the Bernard Hermann Composer's Toolkit. Great use of different sounds and textures while also serviceable to many types of musical styles. Expansive range and the synthetic sounds add a further dimension to the whole bundle. The only nitpick I can conjure is occasionally in the higher registers you can hear background noise and clicking from the recording sessions themselves. Otherwise I highly recommend if your musical tendencies veer towards more old school flavours.
I mostly work for theater music in France. When I have an idea during a rehearsal, less time it takes to materialize a musical idea, the more chances you have of getting it accepted by the director or main actor. Therefore BH Composer toolkit is a very clever idea that helps you in this way. Very useful to have under you fingers kits as trumpet/xylophone, ondes Martenot etc. Michel Winogradoff Sound Designer & Composer
I have seen more than 50 films of Bernard Herrmann so the library was a must. And now I have a sensation that I am in his movies again.
Absolutely amazing, couldn't be happier.
I have to say, Bernard Herrmann Library is a really cool toolkit to score! For me it fits very well. I like the fact that all instruments have a good range of articulations, mics and dynamics. All instruments have a dry (enough) original sonority, that gives us the chance to use all the possibilities of room, add good reverbs and delays and use them as we prefer. The orchestra sounds amazing and the library has a really nice synths bank (I loved the Raucous Sweller). Other point: you will buy a professional library to score. So this is a little bit heavy for some computers, not toooooo heavy. But if you have a notebook like my old one (Macbook 13" Mid 2012 Dual Core i7 16Gb RAM 750GB Storage drive) it will crash many times when you’re running with 50 midi tracks. So, try to buy a machine with a minimum 16GB RAM, 2TB SSD memory. It’s the most important thing to have a good workflow. You will fly with this library. This library is not too cheap, but is not too expensive. It fits for my budget. Bernard Herrmann Library is a good way to score with a good quality and a fair price. So, yes, Bernard Herrmann Composer Toolkit Library is a really cool and high quality toolkit to score, I recommend it. Pedro Barrionovo, Composer and Musician (Kilotones) from Brasil.
Wow. The quality is really outstanding, and the various ideas you filled this pack with is inspiring.
Ah, those classic, classic sounds. Trumpet and xylophone patches, what's not to like? . Just so interesting. And not just cool, but like film noir/ Hitchcock cool baby. It seperates you from the pack. I used it on something I recently composed entitled " The Year The Earth stood Still" (with a wink and a nod to Mr Hermann), complete with screaming flutes ( minor 2nd trill). As I said, tres cool.
vintage feel with unique combinations. Beautiful!
After watching various product videos I decided to take the plunge with Bernard Herrman, it was on offer. The sounds are great although it was the synths I used for my project. What a joy to have Bernard Herrmann at my finger tips.
Incredible sounds and textures! My biggest challenge is deciding when not to use these sounds!!

My favorite orchestral library. The package is enormous and filled with quality samples with loads of character. Could not recommend more highly.
