Choral music has been close to my heart as a composer for a long time, and for almost as long, I've been let down by what virtual instruments allowed me to do in that realm. Thanks to Eric and Spitfire, I don't think I'll be let down anymore. I'm not sure I'll ever treasure another VI as much as I am beginning to this one. I had some concerns about my somewhat aged CPU being able to handle the Sptifire engine. Sandy was there, in usual fine form, to give me an idea of what to expect. In practice, apart from a few tempo-sync patches, I don't see much of a bump on the CPU meter at all. Very smooth.

Sounds amazing and is so very usable!
This library is just perfect, pure, and simply sublime. I am convinced that this concept of a virtual choir is the best one, by far. This library is a true musical instrument and is extremely well conceived. Yes, it is expensive - but in all ways is worth the money. The effort that has been placed in this work of art is astounding; this is evidently an immense work of vocal love. +Paul
I recently bought the Eric Whiteacre Choir. There's no questioning the quality of the choir, but I do want to share one niggle. At the Launch Doo at Greenwich Planetarium we were treated to an achingly sensitive live performance by Eric's choir in the very dry planetarium room. My niggle is simply that I wouldn't be able to recreate that sensitivity with the actual choir, as all the samples (even the close mics) are drenched with the 'Lyndhurst reverb'. I'd love to hear a second release of at least the main samples recorded in a dry environment - as per the wonderful Studio Strings!
great sound ,a large and precise sound library as usal with spitfire very inspiring i love it
Very original and very hard to beat Choir. The most original Choir i have seen in years! It's a real pleasure to work with this great sounding instrument and also very "inspiré et inspirant! " Thank you Spitfire for your continuously surprising sounds!
Stunning library, the choir library I've been waiting for for years. The Eric Whitacre Choir library allows to write realistic legatos in Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass voices, with a whole selection of ahs, oohs, ohs and mmms. Besides that the library can be used for quick sketches, as an alternative synth-like pad, or use a whole range of interesting evolutions. As always, customer support with Spitfire is amazing, so if anything during the download doesn't go as planned, they're always helping out very quickly. I would love Spitfire to release a soloist legato library as well at some point that could be used as an add-on to this library (much as the solo strings adds so much more to the chamber strings).
I dont know any other choir library that has elements like this does. the evos are remarkable and the whole rest is just breathtaking oh and by the way i really enjoy the SF sampler you people must have a loose screw to be able to create gem what this library is. :)
I've been waiting for more than a year for this library to be released, and I'm more than happy with it. Actually, I'm very impressed. It is very musical, sensitive, emotional, and as always, just sounds amazing. The Evo part of it is just BRILLIANT! Spitfire Audio, and SoundDust, are the only Sampled libraries i use cause to me, they're the most musical, creative, original and organic ones. Long live Spitfire Audio! Cheers!
I was quite disappointed with this purchase. Don't get me wrong, it sounded absolutely great when I heard the demo tracks. But then I bought the product, and honestly, if there was a way to return it, I would. :(( I am NOT saying I don't have my "wow" moments with it, but with my previous purchases from Spitfire Audio, I had constant "wow" moments, while now... For what I paid for this library, I felt seriously let down by this company. Especially when you receive the free choir labs literally 1 day (!!!) after I paid something around 400€... In total, I just don't feel it was worth my money, far from it... I feel quite ripped off with this library.

Beautifu, original and iconic sounds, with great musicality.
The sound of "Eric Whitacre Choir" is truly beautiful - but with a few small caveats. The soprano sound is sublime. The altos are really good, although lacking a little warmth in the lower register. The tenors are pretty good, but the higher register doesn't have the presence I would expect. I'll be honest and say I'm slightly disappointed by the basses - the lower register doesn't have the majesty that the basses of the Eric Whitacre Singers have in person, and overall the sound is a little anodyne. The range of sounds available within each section is fascinating - some of the Evos are really unusual, but could easily find a place in most modern compositional palettes. They have a sense of movement, which is a great contrast to the static nature of most choir libraries. I'm surprised to find there are some tuning issues in the library - although the voices are well-tuned against each other, they're not all centred at A440. I guess the intended main use of the library is writing for unaccompanied voices, but this limits its usefulness - blend it with other pitched instruments and it starts to grate pretty quickly. I'm hoping this will be programmatically fixed in a future patch?
I'm yet to download but will try again this Friday at london studio.
The Spitfire Audio Eric Whitacre Choir was a long awaited product, and I think it was well worth the wait. Used in the right context, this library will send chills up and down listener's spines. It's really fantastic for music producers to have this at their disposal. The Spitfire plug-in used for this library is working flawlessly for me, and I find it really intuitive. Not only does it work well, but I think the UI has a really refined and uncluttered look to it.
I really liked it but I was expecting it to be released on Kontakt. The new player is "ok" but Kontakt offers composers a flexibility that nothing else does. It seems this was also the route from EW creating play but I am quite sure they would have a lot more costumers (ex:me) if they didn't created PLAY. In fact, I started supporting Spitfire (and stopped using EW) because you were a kontakt company and I hope you keep being one. Thank you, Pedro
Beautiful choir at one’s fingertips, highly recommended product from the Spitfire team.
The best choir instrument on the market. Pure beauty!
From the first product I bought (Albion 1) to the latest one which is the Eric Whitacre choirs, I’ve always been amazed about the quality and originality of the Spitfire libraries and it’s not different with this latest addition. I have most choir libraries on the market and although most of them go from good to great, non of them is as playable and inspiring as this baby. The original approach with the Evo section brings movement to the library. The legatos somehow sound much more realistic...I don’t want to breakdown other libraries because they sound great too but, the market is full of the same kind of epic or classical choirs, not contemporary ones. So this is an absolutely new and fresh approachthat just works (great)
It was a long wait (a treeaaaly long wait)...! But worth it.
Beautiful, and detailed sounding choir. Both the nuances of the recordings are beautifully captured and the playability is second to none.
