Best strings plugin for composer
I should have bought Spitfire Strings several years ago when I first heard of them. You should buy them now. Great-sounding, great customer service, easy installation and activation. You will love them.
Very detailed. Amazing. Just amazing :)
The legato has issues, I may have been able to work around it if I was willing to have two tracks per instrument, but that seems unwieldy to me. I wish there were more technique options available within one track and that some of the techniques had two choices, like two different sounding sustained long notes. Way better than what I had, but I really had to tinker with it to get it to make decent sounds and there were times it just wouldn’t. The gliss (again, needing another track to pull that off) is only ok. I wanted to be options of how it could sound attack-wise, volume at different times of the gliss and when the gliss happened without having to creat more than one gliss track.
Excellent sound and a variety of articulations. Nice and warm.
Amazing sound and tone. Great breath of articulations. Very versatile and easy to layer with other libraries too. The one missing star is how old it is and lack of updates its getting. With libraries like CSS and Vista, MSS or Sample Modelling, there is a better balance of consistency in programming and sound. Chamber strings is a little inconsistent and unpredictable between different articulations and instruments. I wish for an update where the samples are aligned more consistently throughout all the instruments and articulations. ie longs are all 125 ms delayed, shorts are all 50ms delayed, legatos are consistently at a port. of 300ms, slow legato at 200ms, and a fast at 100ms for example.
Masterfully sampled, detailed.
Spitfire Chamber Strings is a wonderful tool with all the right variables. I use Universal Audio LUNA and they provide a simplified version, but I'm glad I purchased the official version. I love the ability to change the mic pattern and audience distance. Plus all of the bonus features and articulations really help you get a realistic sound.
I love the variety of articulations and the in-depth sampling. This library can serve as a solid foundation for so many different styles of composition.
Life saver. Sounds so special and raw.
I needed a lot of diffferent articulations, and because of the music I like to do, I didn't wanted the film score sound, but a more refined, in-your-face sound, which SCS delivers in spades. I love the very raw chamber sound of SCS and the incredible amount of options within the library. Huge amount of articulations, from bread and butter to esoteric and everything in between, consistent throughout the library. I bought the 'normal' edition, but will probably get the pro edition down the line to get the outrigger mics. All in all, a great comprehensive string library, best if you're interested on chamber, modern filmscore music or contemporary avant-garde composition - you'll never miss another articulation!
Extremely compelling sound that really gives you a sound that pulls you in
This is really one of the best/realistic string libraries I've bought. It is also a very good addition of the Solo Strings library and together with the Intimate Strings and Epic Strings (both only at 29 euro) you have all flavour of strings ensembles at your fingertips. What is also very handy, is the capability to "play" with the expression and vibrato while recording the strings. This adds a lot of realism. The walk-through video's give also a realistic idea of the sounds of the used samples and parameters in each library. Overall, I like the sound and the interface of the libraries very much and the price tags are very reasonable, given the great quality.
Unmissable sample library, great for pop, amazing for adding detail in symphonic mockups.
Excellent overall tone with a broad range of articulations. Would prefer a more useable range of Non Vib to Vib. Legato is well implemented.
