This is a great library of samples. I have Embertones and Chris Hein's solo libraries, and this blends well with those. Requires some tweaking of round robins to reduce phasing issues, but otherwise very good.

Really good sounding solo strings. My biggest issues with this library are the legato rebowing (there is no explicit bowing control, but mastering the vibrato and mod sliders can compensate and make it sound good enough. Additionally, there are several samples throughout the library that have very clear "human" error or background noise in them that, when repeated, make it obvious that the sound is coming from a virtual instrument. This becomes especially obvious when the instrument is used without accompaniment, revealing the bare recording mistakes. Because of that, it's best used as a first chair or with a solid accompaniment distracting from its imperfections. Beyond those issues, I really enjoy the sound quality that comes out of the instrument and the many articulations that create a limitless palate for composition.
Excellent sound and the quality is amazing.
This was one of my first Spitfire purchases and I have been hugely impressed with it. The quality and number of articulations, as well as the ease of use of the interface is just the tip of the iceberg. Genuinely spectacular.
texture dynamic is not like my imagination
Honestly pretty mind-blowing. The Violin Virtuoso Performance patch is truly unbelievable. However, I would like to see a Virtuoso Performance patch for cello. Hopefully that is coming in a future update. Even without it, this is by far the best solo strings library I've ever used.
Great instruments. The Total Performance patch for the Virtuoso Violin is incredible. I hope there are more TP patches for the rest of the library, and other libraries too. It saves SO much programming time.
Delicious solo strings. I have not found any other library that sounds so good, so perfect and so expresive and with so much tweaking to the interface. As any other Spitfire library, it has lots of articulations I had never found in any other library. Definitely recommend it.
The best solo string library I’ve ever heard!
This is an excellent library that blends nicely with my existing set up. It was a great deal combining bundles on black Friday and also discounting existing libraries that i already owned in the bundle. Keep up the good work. Alan Kiely
I can't say enough good things about this library. It is so beautiful and SO playable! Unlike many libraries, you won't find yourself adding negative track delays and shifting notes to get things on timing. This is spot on, out of the box. From delicate and soft to highly aggressive sounding spiccatos, this library has it all. It will be a workhorse for years to come!
I instantly fell in love with the legato- articulation. The solo cello had my assistant walking into the studio to look for the cello- player ...
Sad .... romantic .... tricky ... beautiful ... contrsating ... this is the ideal companion for a symphonic library that needs something for the front row. I love it.
A real step up on the previous version of Solo Strings. When used to double section parts of a string arrangement they become the secret sauce that makes everything work...
Fantastic deep sampling of virtuoso players that proves inspirational to the writing process. So much character and expressiveness. Highly recommended!
Everything I have purchased from Spitfire Audio has been nothing short of AMAZING!!!!!
Sounds incedible and has a great selection of articulations, but legato is clunky and vibrato switching is mediocre at best.
Sound is great as expected. However, you can not directly play it out of box, have to check out Christian's video to control the vibrato. Some articulations in the patch are quite confusing because there is no notes mapped. So I don't know what is going on. I had not yet tested the legato patches. It is a decent product, but to my ear, some instrument sounds plastic for certain range, need to tweak some. This might indicate that an improvement on the script of vibrato is demanded. I haven't tried to blend it with SCS, Albion I/V, or HZ strings, thus couldn't tell if they will blend seamlessly. But they could be a complementary of SASS if you already own it. I will hire someone or just do it myself when I indeed want a standing out Solo Violin/Cello. Updated Oct.11 Try out their new update with Violin (Virtuoso) Total Performance patch, I'm totally satisfied with new script! Raise to four stars!
For me, this product was exactly what I was looking for. The legatos are beautiful and realistic sounding and the library matches perfectly with the others Spitfire products ( Symphonic Strings, Chamber String, etc...) Always a pleasure to buy these high-quality products with good prices for what they give
Really added some dimension to a new TV project. Great complement to my other Spitfire strings.
