The level of detail is mindboggling in this library. Even aleatoric clusters can be put together with a little effort on part of the producer. The very dry sound may come off as unattractive when taken at face value, but this makes these instruments very versatile. Do give the ostinatum a try. While it is easily surpassed in usability by native instruments session strings sequencer, it can produce really engaging riffs and rhythms
Pros: nice sounding intimate strings. Specially the softer sounds like flautando. Cos: shorts have problems with precision (attack and dynamics), sounds like the players are not playing in time. Good library for those who are looking for a more intimate, acoustic, chamber-like sound, but not an all-purpose instrument. The shorts lack of precision make it hard for music with more action or energy needs.
Sounds great. I've found it really useful for a smaller ensemble sound and for more definition.

Very real-sounding strings with great dynamical expression. A good start for being able to buy the professional version when wanting to.
So happy to finally own such a versatile library. versatile because its been recorded fairly dry. You can use your own reverbs to sculpt the sound and use it in any situation. More than enough great articulations so its very usable in many different productions such as pop, rock or even 80's disco! And for filmscoring with detailed strings its really great too!

I love the sound of this library, but it has missing articulations and horrible shorts. I have both Chamber Strings and Symphonic Strings. Studio Strings sits somewhere in-between for me: wonderfully lush with a good reverb, and still with a good amount of detail. It's a very versatile library: I can imagine mixing this into a pop/rock record, or having it thicken Chamber Strings. It's easy to create separation and space between the instruments. Where Studio Strings truly falls short, though, is with the shorts: the spiccato timing is sloppy. Spiccatos and brushed spiccatos are much longer on the viola than on any other instrument, and in-general, the spiccatos don't attack with consistent timing. I hope Spitfire takes the time to fix the viola shorts, and to re-synchronize the shorts, so that it's possible to play in-time. The library is also missing Spitfire's excellent performance legatos, and I would love to see an ensemble patch, staccato shorts, and flautando legato. Overall, a great addition to anyone's palette (if you like to mix-and-match), but not quite the showstopper that it has the potential to be.

After many years of very highest Strings VSTi quality of 1-3 basic articulations... I started to buy THE highest quality Strings VSTi's... following my Stradivarius multisamples with many others of THE String instruments in my original Yamaha Motif 6... with many, many of my recordings I still have on CD... I enjoyed settings for articulations I referred to as Flautando Strings... Canyon Reverb. with some of THE pizzicato articulations... the Tone of the Canyon Reverb. setting for the Stradivarius, and other of THE String instruments was exemplary of a Concert Hall! I recently reviewed Studio Strings... the demo video impressed me to buy to sound the quality myself, if possible... if the sound quality is as impressive as the demo videos, I thought, then I will buy the Symphonic Strings... Studio Strings sounds as impressive, and moreso, than the demo videos! My plan to purchase Symphonic Strings will probably be my innovative 0% Interest, No Money Down Financing: save $400 one month, and add another $400 thirty (30) days after to cover the $799.00 for Symphonic Strings!
Sound quality is excellent. However the user manual is not user friendly
I really enjoyed the timbre and versatility of this library.
