This library oozes quality! The detail in the samples is incredible. It’s also east in the cpu too! Suitable for any kind of music, be it orchestral or pop music. I’ll be using this library in my own music as well as some production music. Well done Spitfire Audio!

Fantastic choice for a detailed and very dry ensemble library
I wanted to buy Chamber Strings because of the great reputation, but decided to go with Studio Strings (Professional) instead. I really like the overall sound and huge amount of articulations. My problem is with the legatos: they are agile, that's true, but I am disappointed and expected much more. I miss the performance legato patches and a speed option slider. If I could return the product, I would immediately go for Chamber Strings. Also, because I don't know if there are future updates on the legatos (and maybe more articulations for the divisi sections). This is really the only problem, but immensely diminishes the rating.
Outstanding production. The sounds are incredible.
Very realistic and professional sounding strings. Extremely user friendly. There were a wide range of extended techniques although I would like to have seen some more eg. Scratch tones. Also, a feature where a user could select two notes for the string player to glissando between would be helpful. However this product was of a very high standard and I have recommended it to many people I know.
For an ‘entry’ level offering it posses many features of other ‘top’ line orchestra products
These strings sound brilliantly realistic and as a newbie to really decent software strings, I can't complain.
can not work without this product now.
In five minutes you'll be hooked...
Spitfire Studio Strings is the library of strings that I really dreamed to have. A collection of a huge variety of bowing, FX, Plucked, and many other Strings techniques that give you the possibility to write “inside” your score and give you the sound that you want to find. The quality is excellent! All the samples have a pristine very high quality of sound. In some way “there is life” inside this strings: from the violins to the contrabbasses (in my opinion the best recorded samples in this library are the cellos) all the sounds are vibrant and really detailed. Probability I will bought in a second time also the “Professional” edition to have a more huge variety of sounds and also of Mics position. In conclusion Spitfire Studio Strings has become one of my “must sounds palette” to use for my compositions and my mock-up release. It is not just a sample library: is an inspiring vibrant collection of outstanding samples Strings! Very recommended
Honestly, having used the solo string libraries, I was a little disappointed with this. The volume of this library is very low, and that seems unusual considering it is an ensemble of strings per group. To be fair, it could be because i'm using the basic version of this library, as it only has the Tree (T) mic position. I can get a more resonating sound with 6 solo celli using the solo string lib, than i can with the default (6) on this. Again, the details are nice, but the volume (power) is very low and not there.
Excellent product. Have so many articulations for string parts to explore. The dry sound already sounds good.
So far, really like it and suspect it will end up being a 5 (rather than 4) star purchase once I really get to grips with it
My first Spitfire product was Albion 3 which I love and then Studio Strings followed pretty fast. The quality of the samples is excellent as always, but you shouldn't expect that big Lyndhurst sound here! All instruments were recorded in Studio One in Air Studios which results in a more dry sound. The reverse conclusion is that all instruments sound very direct and organic, you can really hear this ,,wooden'' sound, the overall sound is very emotional ! Very well suited to insert them into existing compositions and to take over the reverb itself. The number of articulations is huge, you can find everything you need here. Especially the cellos and the violas, the legato patches with a strong vibrato sound absolutely fantastic! In the core version you are a bit limited with one microphone but anyway this library is great at this price !
I've enjoyed everything I've purchased from Spitfire and this is no different. Great sounds with a lot of flexibility.
This library is a no brainer for me. Beautiful emotional sound, micro dynamics in each recorded sound. These violins are capable of causing tears of happiness.
I would suggest this library only for beginners and/ or people who don't have previous experience with good sample libraries. If the price does attract you. do consider that it comes with caveats and sloppiness + a lack of unity all over the place. Also, considering Spitfire's poor history of updating their products, I wouldn't hold my breath for improvements in the short term. All in all a disappointing purchase for me,

Great sample library to compliment Albion One
Fantastic sounding library and making ensembles is a pure joy. I'd highly recommend this product to anyone. A+
I choose this library cause of the dry and tight sound. I arrange and record Hard Rock and Metal music in Logic pro X with my MacBook pro and the library fits perfect in the mix wich other big/roomy libraries wont. If I would do any symphonic productions without drums, bass and guitar I would buy the professional version instead cause it has more Micophone options to choose between. For my music the standard Studio strings is perfect!
