This is definitely a good option for a starter in music theory who wants to dive into composing and orchestration. If you are more experienced and want better definition on your solo instruments you'll have to go straight to the Pro version. I'll definitely do that myself in the future and probably give that one five stars.

TBH I was disappointed with this library, even though it was on sale. I would have preferred to try it out first, because I would have picked a different one. The BBC Discovery offer sounds much better and is a better deal. I'm a hesitant to purchase anymore Spitfire libraries until I can try them out first.
Nice library. At least I have found good-sounding solo oboe :)
very good sounds, terrible to have to work with kontakt
Sweet sounds, lightweight and good balanced collection.
This library does not only give the standard set-up for the woodwind-part of the orchestra, the instruments shares it's different tonal positions with the right instrument (for example bass clarinet, alto flute, and so on). Variety for dynamics are also great here!
Overall a great product. In detail I would say the piccolo is great, the solo-flute lacks vibrato in the upper registers and I could wish a little more expression. The clarinet I find a little harsh overall and I prefer no vibrato as default. Bassclarinet sounds great. The oboe is definately to harsh especially in certain registers and therefore stands out in an orchestra mix, I´d prefer a smoother sound.
Haven't had a chance to explore properly yet, but everything I have tried sounds incredible in legato mode.
These woodwinds have an amazing sound to them. I have put these to good use already.
Real woodwinds at my fingertips. Now I can conduct a who orchestra in combination with the strings and brass. Really love it.
Great sound, very alive
Some minor flaws but really good. Lot of useful sounds
By no means a bad library, especially for the fantastic price. The sections sound good, but boring; very little movement and there’s not a whole lot of dynamic range. The solo instruments are not great, but for $199 they do just fine. In terms of articulations and instruments it’s great. It simply lacks character.
As a woodwind player, I've been searching for authentic woodwind samples that have expression and flexibility for the wind instruments I don't play myself. Studio Woodwinds meets all these needs and more! I'm blown away by the sound quality.
Just go and listen to and watch the demos they've made on Youtube. It just works :)
Overall decent, but with a lot of little sloppy mistakes, all of which are easily fixable in an update. Volume balance between longs and shorts is way way off, with longs being louder on average around 9db and even as high as 12db! That's nuts. I wish they would list the UACC values for the specific articulations included, rather than the general UACC chart they issue, which can be vague and confusing. It's still a good value for the price, and not terribly resource hungry. I just think they need to do better quality control.
Exactly what i was looking for.
Wonderful sound, and great ease of use! The only reason I don't give it the full 5 stars is because I have to use Kontakt to run the library, which becomes problematic due to NI's practices rather than Spitfire's.
Great for every kind of music. I'm using it for filmscoring and trailer music. It has a lot of articulations and great quality. Also the size of the librarie is great for little spaces in your hard drive.
I bought Studio Woodwinds because of the great reputation of the Chamber Strings. I really like the overall sound and huge amount of articulations. My problem is with the legatos: they are agile and very tight, but lack expression. I miss a speed option slider (or maybe a performance legato). Also, because I don't know if there are future updates on the legatos. This is really the only problem, but diminishes the rating in some way.
