Awful airport
Awful airport, would put me off coming ever again. Restaurant advertised before security but once you’re through there is two tiny cafes serving no hot food. Staff were cold and unhelpful. Not good enough for such a wonderful destination.
Worst airport I’ve ever been to
This is one of the worst airports I’ve ever been in 😂 two tiny coffee bars with enormous queues through security and hardly any seats, and the choice is rubbish. Why is it that you can see a restaurant back before security from the gates but can’t access it 😭 make sure to bring your own food!

Horrible unprofessional cold employees of the Split airport. They don't seem to be trained nor prepared to deal with cancelled flight. They are not motivated to help either. Just showing off that they are actually doing something.
Horrible Customer Service
Split airport staff is horrendous and needs a lesson on how to do customer service. Before going through security I scanned my boarding pass to go through and had walked down half the way. Then this blonde lady screeches at me and yells lady lady lady. She tells me my backpack can’t go under the seat because I had a cabin bag along with a personal item for this flight. I was so confused as I had went through the other airport with the same airline and it was fine. So I explained to her that my bags were included and she kept being like no they weren’t when she didn’t even know which airline I was flying with. Later when I was delayed 4 hours she lied to my face and said I wasn’t allowed to get any compensation for the delay which goes against the EU laws. She clearly is out to get fliers and wants to just trick them. I am sad I didn’t get her name because otherwise I would recommend she be fired for lying to passengers and not telling them their rights.

After the renovation airport looks nice and most problem is with duty free store food. So my suggestion reserve professional transfer service and get on your destination. Eat before.

08 april 2024 flight at the evening supervisor of check-in and boarding staff , very basic English her name refused to gave any details but zuzana kuka more less very unfriendly.Boarding no, priority direction who going first , they start boarding priority and non priority in this same time to the aircraft , when ask how come they not fallow Ryanair rulles supervisor reply she can do what she wana , she is the boss !!

On the return flight to Rotterdam it turned out that you could no longer buy cigarettes in the duty-free shop at the airport for 10 days. This without prior information, which is so customer unfriendly and disrespectful to the customers who do count on it. Shame
Miserable staff need to get a new job
You have the most rudest depressed and miserable staff. If they’re miserable at their job then they should find a new job. They clearly have poor customer service skills so maybe they need to try a different line of work.

Duty-free completely sold out of Amber leaf and Golden Virginia tobacco. If they'd hadn't it would have cost £20 more for 500g at the airport than on the plane. Tobacco has NEVER cost more at the returning airport than on the plane.
Make sure you eat before you get to the airport as the food court only consists of 2 small sandwich shops selling a very small basic selection of rolls, tea, coffee, soft drinks, beer, all very expensive. Airport packed, extremely difficult to find a seat while the entire top floor seating area is business class and practically empty.

Helpful duty free staff in Non-Schengen area
Bought a handbag in duty free and discovered after going through non Schengen passport control that the bag was damaged. The women in the small duty free shop after passport control took it back through to other side and processed a refund for me. I found all Croatian people kind and helpful during this trip. Hvala Split airport duty free staff!
This is an atrocious airport
This is an atrocious airport.
No water fountains anywhere. 1 tiny little food kiosk serving cold sandwiches with a queue stretching 50 metres at all times.
No other food options at all.
No vending machines anywhere.
3 hour flight delay... this is not the airport you want to be stuck in for 5 hours!
I had a very similar experience on my travels here last July although my delay was only 2 hours.
To management... this airport is not up to standard to cater for Split's busy summer tourist season.

Check in lady was lovely and very helpful (we had been stuck in traffic)...... border control was a different story, when arriving go up and check the open desks, some had lights on but not open others open but no light on....took forever to get through(we picked the wrong queue) ..... leaving Split when going through border control, don't queue with the woman passport checker.....she likes to look through all your travel history for the last 10 years and question them ??? Confused as to why it matters where you have been when leaving a country?.... luckily we didn't miss our flight....
Rude staff and no care
What a great experience visiting Split and I fell in love with Croatia - so sad when we got to the airport to discover all the charger ports to charge a phone simply does not work - not the plugs clearly made available nor the usb ports. Well bad luck I thought - though strange so many are out of action. Went on to look for a water fountain - none found - ok - ill buy a bottle of water (sad it will create plastic waste - hey ho) one place only selling water with a massively long queue - Hang on Ill ask 2 nice friendly looking ladies clearly airport staff …” excise me I asked - is there perhaps a water fountain?” No came the answer … “you can drink water from the taps in the toilets - its drinkable” - clearly she found that very amusing as she laughed to her colleague and walked off. I then asked another airport staff member and he told me the same - I then asked if they do not find many people ask him for a water fountain - yes he said but our managers know this and they said that they will not allow water fountains. So sad how much waste water bottles are created and so sad that a great time in Split is now tarnished by a silly water fountain - but more so some of the rude staff at the airport - my advice - Split airport management - your culture of your company stink - look in the mirror to what cause this!
Food options are a joke👎
Food options are a joke once you pass security. Dry, rubbery sandwiches. Two kiosks that’s it. No real restaurants. Seems as if the airport wants to handle all the business like food etc but isn’t able to adequately do the job. Staff is not very concerned about friendliness, some are abrasive.
Abysmal facilities
Good modern building but only airport where our lounge passes were not accepted. The eating facilities in departure area are sadly lacking - we found one small kiosk with no visible menu unless you were willing to scan the QR code and then decide what you may like to choose - very little choice. Drinks in minuscule cups more suited to a child’s dolls house! Rip off. If you can fly from anywhere else, do so.
