I ordered a canoe, which was an offer. When received, I came to the conclusion that I ordered the wrong size. So I returned the product immediately, without checking the complete content of the box. The box was very damaged when it arrived and all the holes were covered with tape. Seeing the size of it, I had no other option than to use the same box for the return.
Now, Sportfits claims that the canoe had been used, and sent pictures as proof where even the glue tube of the repairkit has been used. But no signs of anything that has been repaired/glued on the canoe's skin. Apart from all the other damages that were photographed, this was the most remarkalble and suspicious. It feels to me that someone made a little bit too much effort to proof that the canoe had been used.
I have definitely not used the canoe. Sportfits refuses to refund the full amount of the purchase, claiming they cannot sell the canoe anymore. I won't be surprised if the same canoe will be on their website again soon as a special offer.
Total amount of my damage: 600 Euro!
Such a fraud!

Good retailer & competitive prices, slow DHL parcel delivery

The order was process efficiently by SportFits, with emails sent to confirm payment, VAT tax receipt and to confirm the actual product and colour ordered (a cotopaxi bag). Order was made online on 22/08/2025 and the estimated delivery was 4-6 working days.

As no parcel tracking information (in this case, DHL) was sent, I requested for, and received, one on 26/08/2025. The parcel is to be sent from Germany to the Republic of Ireland.

DHL provides tracking information only for Germany, with the shipment processed on 23/08/2025 and the most recent tracking on 26/08/2025. It does not provide any further tracking information once it leaves Germany.

I contacted the company on 01/09/2025 and received a very prompt response from them the same day. They were, unfortunately, unable to raise a query with DHL as it has not meant the minimum threshold period.

On 03/09/2025 I received a message from AnPost (the Irish postal service) saying that the item will be delivered the following day 04/09/2025.

All in all, the customer service of SportFits is very responsive, but unfortunately let down by their parcel delivery service DHL. My impression is that DHL struggles to compete with the more informative IT systems used by UPS and Fedex that provide better cross-country tracking and the speed of Amazon logistics in delivering parcels.

Given that most customers are purchasing relatively high value items, having a system that provides tracking information more proactively and in real time can help manage customer expectations on delivery times.

I wish zero stars was an option

I wish zero stars was an option. This website charges more than double the average shipping costs for returns (€12 for a return from the Netherlands to Germany). As ‘consolation’ they offer a 10 euro voucher on your next purchase. But they don’t mention this only applies to purchases above €100. I feel a bit scammed tbh.

At SportFits, we are committed to transparent communication: the return fee of €12.95 from the Netherlands is clearly stated on our website, in the returns portal, and in the shipping label provided. In line with EU regulations, return shipping is at the customer’s expense when using the supplied label.

As a gesture of appreciation, we offer a €10 voucher for every return. This voucher is automatically sent with the return confirmation and includes all conditions (including a minimum order value of €100), which are also clearly noted online and in the voucher itself.

Worst experience, I bought an MSR Guardian water filter…

I bought an MSR Guardian water filter pump at sportfits.de, I got a used product with extensive marks and signs of usage delivered. The product had scratches, and was dusty and there was even some hair on it. The connected water hose has some debri and deposits on them. The filter housing has water steam inside. And upon unscrewing the red bottom cap there was water dripping out of yhe filter.
I ordered and payed for a new product. Sportfits refuses to replace the used product they send me with a new one.
I suggested that they could send me an MSR Guardian annual repair kit and and MSR filter cartridge replacement to make the product a bit more like a new product, but sportfits.de also refused this.
Lets see if paypal buyers protection can help me.

Update 16th september (after sportfit.de answered here on trustpilot and after I contacted them again):

Wir möchten nicht ausschließen, dass in seltenen Fällen ein Fehler passiert und ein zuvor ausprobiertes Produkt in der Retourenprüfung übersehen wird. Sollte dies in Ihrem Fall so gewesen sein, tut uns das selbstverständlich leid.

This in itself is nothing new, as they already admitted that they did send me a used product in our earlier correspondence. And I did send them picture documentation for this the very same day that the product got delivered.
According to german Gewährleistung Sportfits.de must send me the new product that I did order and that I payed for. But they again and again refuse to do so.
The offer they make is to refound me 20€ or give me a 40€ giftcard.
This is not close what I think is a satisfactory solution to the fact that they did send me a used product.
