This system is great for us

This system is great for us. We have had one dog on it for almost three years now and have added a second dog. Any collar issues we have has, Spot On has helped us out in a timely manner. Currently we are experiencing an anomaly with the two collars treating boundaries differently even though they are set on the same fence. I am sure we will get great help figuring this out. Overall I love this system!

We love them…but

When the collars work, they are amazing! We love the features. But we often have to restart them or do a factory re-set to keep them working properly.

The collar doesn't work right

The app doesn't work right. I was notified to do the new update. Can't connect to the collar most of the time. When it finally does connect, the update fails. Says it won't work without the new update. But the collar still detects the gps fence. I sure hope it continues working because Spoton has failed to respond to my email for assistance. This all equals= FAIL.

Update:
Today I spoke to Olivia and they're sending me a new collar. Hopefully that will solve the problem. In the meantime I'm still using the original collar because it does work to keep Duke contained. Olivia was very courteous and professional.

Amazing Product and Customer Service

I’ve been a SpotOn customer since 2021, and their customer service has consistently been outstanding. Every time I’ve had an issue with my collar, their team has been responsive, knowledgeable, and quick to help resolve it.

We live on 40 acres, and SpotOn has been a great solution for keeping my dog safe and giving him the freedom to roam. I have owned two Omni collars that I rotated between my dog and I recently purchased the new Nova collar to replace my oldest collar from 2021.

What sets SpotOn apart is their commitment to customer support. Based on conversations with friends who use the Halo Collar, I can confidently say that SpotOn’s customer service experience has been far superior. It’s reassuring to know that whenever I need assistance, there’s a reliable team ready to help.

I also want to note that I am not a paid customer, sponsor, or influencer. I’m simply sharing my experience as a long-time user who has been very satisfied with both the product and the support.

I highly recommend SpotOn to anyone looking for a company that truly stands behind its products and customers.

Great when it works

The gps collar is great...when it works. Almost everyday now I get an alert for 2 out of 3 of the collars we use when trying to track my dogs or send commands to their collars that the collar or phone might have a weak signal. I will watch one of my dogs go in and out of the boundary without any correction or alert to my phone. Edit: I have power cycled the collar, sometimes multiple times a day. I have a great cellular signal for my phone so it must be the collar. In other words, I think I'm being told in their reply that the cellular subscription is not worth it? I guess I will have to call in again to troubleshoot the collar and possibly have another one replaced.

Thank you for the feedback. The message you are receiving indicates that, at the time the command is issued, the collar or your phone has a weak cellular signal and can't execute it. The cellular subscription is fully optional and not required for active containment; it can be added or canceled at any time. Generally, the best practice to fix this issue is to power cycle the collar, which will allow it to search the area for the nearest cell tower with the strongest signal. When it comes to containment and correction, those solely rely on GPS satellite connection. As long as the unit is connected to satellites, your dogs are contained and will receive tones and corrections whenever they get close to the fence, even if you do not receive a notification on your cell phone. If you believe there is an issue with the collar or would like us to troubleshoot the collar with you, please give us a call Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm EST or email us 7 days a week at support@spotonfence.com. We purchased this collar specifically…

We purchased this collar specifically because it was advertised as waterproof. We needed a collar that could be used across multiple properties, some of which have bogs and a lake, and our dog absolutely loves the water.

The website states that the collar is waterproof and suitable for water retrieval games. However, we later discovered that water incursion is not covered under the warranty, which was surprising given the product's advertised use.

Our dog only swam with the collar once or twice, for no more than five minutes each time, before the collar short-circuited and stopped working. The collar had never been dropped, damaged, or subjected to any unusual use. We could not find any visible crack or defect that would explain the failure.

Fortunately, the issue occurred within the 90-day guarantee period, so we were able to return the collar. We chose a refund rather than a replacement because we no longer had confidence in its ability to withstand normal water exposure as advertised.

The customer service representatives were helpful throughout the process, but we were charged for return shipping and had to submit a separate claim with the CBSA to recover duties and taxes as we are in Canada. As a result, we still lost money on the purchase.

Overall, the collar was easy to use and performed well while it worked. Our dog did escape a couple of times. I would not recommend it for dogs that regularly enter the water, despite the product's waterproof marketing. It's an expensive product that, in our experience, did not perform as expected.

We were very excited about the purchase but now we lost almost 200$ just in shipping fees and exchange rates.
Its such a disappointment considering how expensive the collar is to begin with.

Lesson learned. We are happy that they accepted the return without having to jump through hoops.

One thing worth noting: without having the collar come in for a full inspection, it's difficult to know exactly what happened, water damage isn't always the culprit, and we'd have loved the chance to diagnose it directly.

That said, we're glad we were able to honor your return under our 90-day Satisfaction Guarantee, and that option remains open if you ever want a second look at a future collar.

We also hear you on the international shipping costs, exchange rates, and duties. Unfortunately, those fees are outside our control, but we understand they added real financial weight to an already frustrating situation, and that's a fair thing to be disappointed about.

Although the collar did not work for my…

Although the collar did not work for my location, customer service was very responsive and helpful. I was sorry to return it. If the GPS improves for the tall trees in my yard in the future - I will certainly retry!

Exceptional and Accurate Collar

We've been using the SpotOn Nova for 3 months now and absolutely love it. One thing that makes the product even better is the exceptional customer service from the company. I have reached out to them about 3 or 4 times for various reasons or questions both via email and phone and have received exceptional service every time. The product is wonderful and I've suggested to friends as well. It's worth every penny. We use it at two properties, both with heavy tree coverage and many acres and the accuracy is phenomenal. It gives our sweet girl the freedom to explore and gives us peace of mind to know where she is and that she's always within the boundary. The "call dog" feature is amazing and we use it when shes far away but we need her to come back so we can leave or whatever the reason night be. No need to go look for her, just press the button and the collar will whistle which she's learned means it's time to come in. I highly recommend SpotOn Nova!!

The customer service is 5 stars! The collar didn’t work in my situation or location but I really wish it did. The concept is great and the company is great. They worked with me and when the collar wasn’t consistent enough on our property to keep our beagle contained, we got a full refund.

I feel like there’s so many questions…

I feel like there’s so many questions about this product. My dog sits and shakes when he has it on if I put the level up. If I put the level down, he doesn’t respect the fence. I’ve ended out using another product that I already had where you are out with him and you carry a buzzer if you need to use it.

SpotOn changed my dog's life

SpotOn changed my dog's life. She's a Pyrenees and now is free ro roam/guard in a 100 acre zone. She respects her boundaries. The SpotOn support team was extremely helpful when I was getting started.

Always good customer service

Always good customer service, you actually speak and communicate with a real person, only issue I have is sometimes the collar has trouble connecting to satellites and when in trying to track or find my dog’s location, I get an error thats says its unable to perform that action at this time to try again later, but when I need it and what im paying for doesnt always work.

Satellites are used to contain your dog and provide tones and corrections at the border. Cellular is used to receive collar notifications or to track and use features on the tracking page. The cellular subscription does not affect containment or correction. If you are having issues with tracking, the general rule of thumb is to power the collar off for about five minutes before turning it back on. This allows the collar to perform a hard reset, and when turned back on, the collar will search for a new cell tower in the area with the strongest signal, hopefully improving the connection.

Overall it does the job

Overall its a good product, definitely keeps the dogs in the yard. Have had some connectivity issues. And no i dont live in a wooded area... quite the opposite, wide open area clear view of ... well everything. The newer version of collar is nice. Battery doesn't last near as long as the older version.
