What happened sso? This was a great game. So fun. I played it every day. This update made almost made me quit. It’s very non-inclusive. As a 5,0 person. I feel non-included . I look awful on my smaller horses. I used so so much money on this game. It feels like a wasted my money. Please please fix this.

There are some serious pros and cons to this game.

First the positives. It looks beautiful. It runs well on a low-spec machine and physics behind how the horses move is great (much of what others describe as glitches are just the demand on the processor - it happens with any graphics-heavy software, this is why dedicated gaming devices are so high spec and expensive).

The quests are generally fun and the story is wonderful. Most of all, it’s lovely to play a game which offers a sense of real-time exploration and adventure without having to kill monsters all the time. I’ve played it for 4 months and really loved it.

But the negatives… for me, the biggest one is that the wonderful story is badly neglected. I’ve done all those ‘main quests’ now and it feels like the story has barely begun… which wouldn’t be a problem except there seems to be two or more years between updates!

It’s glitchy. Not in the way I’d have expected, with graphics render etc, but in badly coded quests that overlap or don’t end properly. I reported one which as seriously hampering my ability to advance, only to be told it’s a long-standing bug. Well why? It’s in a quest that’s 5 years old. Now I’m missing a quest reward, a page of ‘lore’ - and apparently that’s something they already know about and are working on. ‘Sorry for the inconvenience’… Not good enough. It’s not an inconvenience, it’s spoiling the game.

I paid £41 as a one-off to play this, but there’s no conclusion to reach. No way to win, no way to go back and play it again up to where I am… which I could have done with games I used to buy for around the same price.

Altogether, it’s not really worth the money. And it’s very badly planned out, both the storyline and the codebase. I don’t feel ripped off, but I do feel let down.

The final straw for me, though, is probably going to be the avatar/player character update. I appreciate that I’m not the target audience and the most players are kids… but the new avatars are definitely going to look like kids. Mainly, plump Swedish kids. I can deal with a generic avatar, particularly are the current ones look like pretty girls in their mid-teens. I don’t think I can feel comfortable playing as a 12 year old.

Don't purchase a subscription if you already have another one running.

My daughter paid £5 for a monthly subscription which gave 100 coins a week.

Days later she decided to use her money, tempted by the offer, to get the £40 Lifetime subscription which is 100 coins a week forever.

She cancelled the monthly sub with a message saying she still had the perks for the next 3.5 weeks.

Her 100 coins for the monthly sub didn't come in.

Contacted customer services who said she won't get them (300) as she has a new sub now.

She's penalised as a paying customer for being upsold! Absolutely terrible practice.

The customer service team were awful, offering no apology or understanding of how bad this setup is.

Game would be amazing if you didn't have to pay money just to unlock the entire world besides codes you can only go to moorland and fortpinta and starrider codes don't get released that often so people who don't have money can't do any fun things att all I know I'm asking for a lot but can we make it so that either the entire world is just unlocked or that we have to earn levels to get to places it would make the game alot better in general bc alot of kids (and adults who don't have money) would be able to enjoy the game :)

This game used to me my favorite, and it used to be good but now... sso down graded badly, its sad

It is a bit sad that non star-rider ppl don't rly have much money to spend on this game or just don't want it i get it!

Don't get me wrong, this game is amazing and I love it, but I do wanna talk about the limits of it for "non star riders" yes I get its for keeping your game up and running but come on. Most of the horses you can't buy without star coins and getting star coins require buying them separately or getting a star rider member ship. I find this somewhat unfair since some people don't have/ want to have to pay for some in game things to be able to have fun. Its so easy to get in game currency but also challenging and its kind of a waste of time if your only able to buy clothing and horse supplies. I'm not saying all horses have to be normal in game currency paid money but at least have some. Most people play the game for the horses and the story lines and you kind of just limit that. You also limit the areas to "non star rider" players as you only really have Moorland stables and Fort Pinta (maybe South Hoof too) available, at least have the other places access able after completing quests and such instead of blocking it off. Again its a great game. Just maybe consider some things

It’s my opinion that star stable has the worst customer service support team and they choose to not assist customers with issues and always blame the consumer.
My daughters account was hacked and she’s been playing this game for four year and invested chore money for star coins. They permanently suspended her account due to the hacking and told us to start a new game and wouldn’t help us out at all.
My daughter was crushed by the turn of events and unfortunately won’t be playing her favourite game based on the pour customer service.

Stop being such a cash grab game. Most updates consist of new buyable like horses or clothes, making the game feel like a paywall all the time and lacking ay interesting aspects. Bring back interesting storylines and content. Also an amazing feature, that I think would please new players and old bringing back a big demographic, is allowing the player to pick their graphic style, allowing them to pick between the new graphic style of the work and the old graphic style. The old graphic style had more realism and a feel to it, older players miss this style and have a feature to use the older graphics or the new ones I think would add such depth and bring a big player base back to the game. We miss the realism of the old game with graphics and storylines

this game has been going downhill for ages and none of the staff do anything to redeem it. the gameplay and money grabbing is worse than the mbappe leaked messages. the updates are rubbish and almost always recycled #boring. the only good thing i do is talk to my club. the new "revolutionary" characters are uglier than jack grealish and how they managed to do that is impossible................

I'm tired of people complaining about this game tbh. I've been playing on and off since SSO came out- I love seeing how far this game has come, even if there's bugs and glitches. It's disappointing to see people complaining about things so consistently as if the game hasn't been updated in years when they still update it weekly. Some of yall need to touch grass and realize it's an online game, it's never going to be perfect or exactly what you want it to be

Scammy, Scammy, Scam-scam!
For a game that is supposed to be wholesome, they sure as sh!t are 100% laser-focused on adding subscription items, add-ons, and bling. Teaching your kid to CONSUME.
Once they have your credit card, it's difficult to cancel. My kid outgrew this, and we have been charged for over a year (she only signed up for a trial) on monthly $20.99, she doesn't know the login anymore, so we have to call the CC company to stop charges on these scam-artists.

Star stable is my daughters favorite game. She is home schooled and this is one of her only connections to others her age during the week. This last week she asked if she could use her savings $70) on a pack or star coins or whatever they are. We bought the pack and she bought a new horse and played a while went to bed and the next day she logged in and literally everything she had bought or earned from the last 3 yrs of playing was gone! She emailed the help desk and so did I. We received a response of “I’m sorry you should be more careful!” I wrote back a couple of times to the help desk and they sent back that they would recover some of the horses this one time. They still haven’t been recovered. My daughter is an extremely responsible kid ( very careful, and leery of online encounters) she plays with the same girls she has played with for over two years. Everything on her account was sold and she received no coins for it doesn’t that seem strange. And doesn’t it seem strange that this happened right after they had a glitch! The help desk even told me someone had been in her account and sold everything. You know good and well that they know who or exactly what happened. We have spent hundreds of dollars on this game HUNDREDS. It’s what she gets for Christmas, birthdays…. But not another dime the “Help” desk is not helpful! These are kids playing a digital game. We are life time members and that cost more and have never ask anything of the help desk. The makers of this game are greedy people! Be careful you don’t spend more than you are willing to loose! They don’t care about there customers and it shows! If company’s had amazing customer service they would make even more money… never understood why company’s operate like this… BUYER BEWARE…. It’s a rip off!!!

I absolutely love star stable! It is the most realistic horse game I have ever downloaded, on my phone, Ipad and mac. I feel like star stable gets hated on WAY too much! Just imagine a star stable designer working their butts off like, every week creating new areas,quests, updates, and horses. sure, there are a lot of glitches. but the staff cannot, CANNOT, fix EVERY SINGLE GLITCH in the game! a game with so much content obviously has glitches every so often. and seriously! star stable barely costs anything compared to other games! and I appreciate that star stable supports/has LGBTQ+ in the game. it makes me feel more included since i am in the LGBTQ+ community. so many people get 'mad' at the 'drama' in the chat, just ignore the rude comments and innapropriate roles, there even is a button to mute chat, friend/club invites etc. I save up all the money I need to buy star coins. So far I havent seen another game (other than star stable horses) where you can care for your horse! every month star stable releases NEW and more REALISTIC horses. Planet zoo and minecraft (The other games I play) dont even relate to star stable (In my opinion) there is so much freedom and fun quests in star stable. Over the 2 years I have played star stable I have only had ONE problem, long story short, it was a snow day and they released 7 new color variations :)

God, this game is the worst! My daughter just turned 12, so I let her choose her first video game in her life, and she chose star stable because all her friends play it, but, after her free star rider ended, she couldn't do anything! She gave up on repairing the bridge, because guess what! SHE HAS TO BE A STAR RIDER! She wanted a third horse, but guess what! She either has to be a STAR RIDER or has to buy star coins with real money! And the redeem codes don't work, everything is expensive, the staff is rude, the game is glitchy, and when she was a free star rider, she spent all day playing, and now, she won't even play star stable! WORST GAME EVER!!!! Also, please star stable, could you do discounts on horses? My daughter has 170 star coins, and she won't buy anything until there is a discount for 170 on the cheap horses. StarStable is so amazing!!!! All the beautiful horses and colours and places! BUT I’ve been playing this game for a long time and it has changed. The quality’s getting worse. Just look at snow, hair, etc. I hate this! But this game’s getting too easy!! What are you doing? I made it to Epona. 1month later: “It’s easier to get here now”. What?!!!! That’s so unfair!!!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING! Please! I beg you for better quality, less new horses but more new futures…, fixing bugs, updating old horses and PLACES!!!, better hair’ adding new places to explore (make the map bigger!!!!!) but also: Star Coins already were too expensive back then and I would barely get any but now!!! I don’t even TRY it’s the worst!!!! Please Star Stable!!! Remember the good old times!!!

i have now been playing star stable for 5 years and i love this game. its fun and the main quest is really good . sure there is some glitches and it is really hard to get help but if you take the tim e to think about how many poeple write to them everyday including poeple that are just trying to get free star coins or horses i think it makes sense that there hard to get help from. also if you look at the bad reviews its mostly parents saying theyr children are addicten to the game anmd honestley i think its there problem that they cant raise there kids "right" . also of course it cost a lot off money this is a buisness with employes that need to be paid aswell. good job star team your game is amazing

I have taken time in considering what to write for this review, mainly for the reason of purchasing the lifetime membership at 59 pounds. On reflection it is expensive, but I have bought many other games for the same price with only a short lifespan in terms of gameplay when compared to star stable , and so it could be considered good value for money, it was purchased for my daughter and she loves the game, and to be fair she will probably play this more than other games of the same price. I have also noticed many other reviews citing the costs relating to this game, however if they don't make money they won't be able to continue the development and maintenance of the game unless they implement for example in game advertising , I'm fairly certain advertisements popping up every 10
minutes would be quite annoying. I have also read reviews stating that children spend far too much time playing this game, I can only say that's not really the games fault. So to summarise , it's good value and great entertainment for kids, hours of gameplay and great for meeting friends.........
