Door handles weak and substandard, also no replacements available

I brought an under counter silver fridge with icebox at the end of October 2020. It was a new kitchen and didn't get fitted until just before Christmas 2020.
In July the handle of the freezer snapped upon opening. It is only me in the house and I am not heavy handed.
I contacted Statesman CS believing it had a 12 month guarantee. Apparently if you read the small print, the doors and handles are only guaranteed for 6 months from purchase, who knew! So I tried to buy a new door. This has proved impossible. I still email them occasionally hoping that a door may appear/have arrived in stock but so far no luck. The fridge itself is fine but the overflowing stuck ice box isn't ideal and is frankly a waste of space!

Dangerous? door badges on Statesman fridge/freezers

I lacerated both hands by brushing them over the door badge and when I complained to Statesman Customer Services they twisted what I told them and said it was my fault as I should have had the faulty badge repaired. Impossible as I did not know it was faulty.

I checked with my local supplier and saw that new fridge/freezers had a clear tape over the name badge so I asked why. I was told it was to prevent snagging so Statesman know they are dangerous.

Will not buy this companies products again

I purchased an LPG Cooker for my narrowboat. I have lived aboard for over 20 years and this is the 3rd cooker I have had. It is fairly simple to install, you connect the gas pipe to the rear of the cooker. I have done this three time and each time, including this one the cooker has passed it’s BSS Safety test. After about 3 months of service I started to have a problem with the oven, after using a high temperature to start, and then turning the temperature down, the oven would turn itself off. Just yesterday the igniter stop working. On the model the I have, the igniter is powered by a AA battery. I changed the battery and it still would not work. I decided to call customer service after I read in the instruction manual that the oven cut off problem might be related to the thermocouple.
The customer service agent was very positive and after I explained the problem, she asked who had installed the cooker. I explained that I had installed the cooker. She then asked if I was certified in LPG installations and I admitted that I was not a certified LPG engineer.
I was then told that “we record all of our calls and you have just admitted that you installed the cooker and that you are not certified, therefore you have invalidated your warranty and there is nothing we can do to help you.” I had a bit of a chuckle over this statement. I then said the two parts of the oven that have failed, have nothing to do with the gas pipe that I connected to the cooker. Both of the failed components do not even touch the gas connect pipe on the cooker. At this point she said she would put me on hold and check with a colleague. After being on hold for about a minute, she came back and said it did not matter that the failed components had nothing to do with the gas connection, my warranty was invalid and they would not provide any service under warranty. I then asked how could I get it fixed. She suggested I call a gas engineer. I asked them if a recommended gas engineer they were happy with inspects the cooker and determines that the installation is fine and that the failed components are indeed bad, would they then repair the cooker under warranty. In a very positive voice she replied, no because you have voided your warranty.

I then confirmed with her that the only way I could get the cooker repaired was to pay for it myself. I asked her if the company had any trained engineers in my area that I could call and she happily took my post code and looked them up. She then said, well we have two in your area, but I do not think they are certified for gas work. I told her not to bother any more.
At this point, I had had enough. At no time during the call did she take any of my personal details or even check to see if I had registered my warranty. My wife suggested I put a review on Trust Pilot. I now wish I had read the other Trust Pilot reviews before I purchased the cooker. My mistake. I will inform the boat yard that I have used for 25 years what has happened and hopefully they will discontinue stocking Statesman.

Statesman XT6-1230W

Purchased a Statesman XT6-1230W on a recommendation, we were looking for a hot/cold fill machine to replace a Hotpoint WM54 which finally gave up the ghost after many years faultless service. The Statesman is the worst machine I have ever come across. The hot/cold fill facility is a joke it barely uses the hot water at all, apparently it has an 'A' rating, this must be based on water conservation as it barely draws sufficient water to wet the washing let alone wash it! We have had to resort to using a hose to fill the machine via the drawer to get enough water into it to wash anything. The 'A' rating is obviously not established from use of electricity as instead of using hot water from the hot water supply, of which we have ample, insists on filling it with cold water and then using horrendous amounts of electricity to heat it up! It then takes about three hours to do a wash, in between which time you have to constantly attend it to ensure there is enough water in the drum to wash the clothes, and not just wash, every time the machine does a rinse, there we stand injecting a couple of gallons of water via a hose! Labour saving device!! I think not, I think that there should be some provision under the trades description act. PS I only gave it one star as I was unable to give anything less!

Great customer service

Bought a cooker from them and unfortunately the element went. Got in touch with their customer service and they were excellent. So, although was disappointed that the cookers element only lasted 16 months was very happy that we received a new cooker as replacement and was kept informed at all stages. Brilliant customer service so very happy overall.

Would recommend

The washer dryer I bought last July is great. I live in a flat with no garden, so have to use both functions every week. It also seems to be clever enough to know when the cloths are dry and stops the drying process earlier than what the cycle originally says!

Save you hard earned money for a better machine

Save you hard earned money - buy better than a Statesman Tumble Drier. This drier (I use that word with some hesitation) is a waste of time and money. It will not dry! It eats electricity - yet washing on my line (in November) dried better than this machine (after 3 cycles). It has 3 settings - soggy, wet and sopping. Forget the ‘sensor’ settings - does not get dry!

My wife is now bending my ear about buying cheap - I might be forced to back down. Taking it back tomorrow...

The TVM07W 7KG VENTED TUMBLE DRYER…

The TVM07W 7KG VENTED TUMBLE DRYER MIGHT BE ONE OF THE CHEAPEST TO BUY BUT IT IS COMPLETELY USELESS.
ON ANY PROGRAM THE WASHING DOES NOT DRY & NEEDS MINIMUM OF 3 CYCLES TO GET IT MOSTLY DRY
