Good for light weight paper cutting
The cutter works great on light paper, but was unable to cut through heavy paper (Bristol board).

Hi Carolyn,
I am sorry that you had trouble cutting bristol paper. I am not familiar with that type of paper but i have used the Gyro cutter very effectively on oil board including the heavy duty 15 pt oil board and most craft style paper that we have here. I tried to use it to cut the backer board from the back of a pad of paper. This backer board is fairly thick perhaps 1/32nd of an inch.
I was able to cut through the board but it took a tone of pressure and while I could cut some curves it was difficult to cut small radiuses. I am both fairly strong in the hands and pretty experienced with the cutter so i am sure many people would struggle to cut that board.
I am not sure how thick your bristol board is, but if your board is the heavier paper ( it goes up to 400 pt) it is likely problematic.

A lot of guesswork
My stencil is ehh. It looks rushed and had like hanging pieces of the paper stuck to it so I had to cut some of it myself anyway. Also, I paid about 30 dollars for a 2 inch non reusable stencil. I also didn’t like that I couldn’t see what it was going to look like before I bought it. I recommend shopping around.

I am sorry that your stencil was not as you had wanted.
You ordered an adhesive backed stencil. This is a 7 mil pieec of mylar that has adhesive on it and a paper backer. The backer is jsut there to protect the adhesive until you use it so any fraying of the backer should not impact the functionality of the sticker as all.
The fraying is a fairly normal outcome of our laser cutting process. There always is some variability when we cut the paper backer as the total is a relatively thick material in laser terms and while we can add power to the laser that can burn the backer and so we try to use the minimum amount this can leave a little fraying of the backer itself. But this in no way impacts the stencil which has to be peeled away from the backer to use it.
If there were any issues with the stencil please let me know.
Also while the adhesive stencil is not our most durable product it can be used more then once and if you take care to apply the stencil to a clean flat surface after use it can be used with adhesive effect many times.
The cost of your project was fairly high for such a small stencil. However the stencil was custom and so the majority of our cost was because was in the design and set up of a unique stencil. Also the stencil itself was $18.
There was also a shipping and handling charge for such a small order. so that increased your cost to $27.
I am sorry that you did not recieve the value that you wanted. but i do hope that the stencil did work for you,

Long story short...I contacted you on a Fri morning (10am west coast time) I needed a fire barrier stencil in Arizona the following Monday. You guys took the order, made the stencil, packaged it and shipped it that day. I believe it was in Arizona next day (Saturday).Just amazing service and I truly thank you. Great service from beginning to end!
I called customer service before placing my order and was relieved to speak with a live person who was knowledgable of their products. I felt more comfortable placing my order. I received my order before the scheduled delivery date (Awesome!). I was quite pleased that my stencils came out great! I have no complaints. My experience from beginning to end was great!
