Had a procedure on 23rd October to close retinal hole and replace lens on left eye.
Mr Lash and the staff at Optegra are fantastic with exceptional service and skills. For anyone nervous about this type of procedure -don't be. I am so glad I had this done as my quality of vision has improved already and will continue to do so over forthcoming weeks.

Stephen carried out vitroretinal and cataract surgery on my left eye recently. He explained everything clearly and concisely and really put me at my ease. He and his team carried out the operation in a very caring & professional manner - he even rang me the day after to check everything was OK. I can't recommend him enough.

i had my right eye sorted due to floaters and foggy vision he did what he does best after a 10 min op it was as if a new eye had been put in fantastic clarity would recommend over and over very pleased

Stephen is an excellent surgeon with excellent people skills too. He operated on my right eye for a macular hole 6 years ago and has just recently operated on my left eye for a pseudo macular hole. both results have been amazing. I have just been 'signed off' and can only praise Stephen and his team for jobs well done. Thank you all.

Mr Lash operated on both my eyes, first in October 2018 and then the other eye in May 2019. I was petrified! to say the least, but everyone was lovely. Sedation was great and you can't feel or see anything, just hear them talking and the nurse will hold your hand.
First operation the eye was sore and bruised, but sight came back perfectly really quickly and the pain relief drops worked a treat. Second operation, eye didn't clear for about a 6 weeks.
Both eyes see perfectly again with no major issues, occasionally dry eyes in the morning, but so glad to see now, thank you!

Mr Lash and his team made me feel like I was part of team, kept me fully informed throughout my time with them and eased all my concerns with their personal care and good humour.

I was not overly concerned about the onset of covic19 because the hygiene routine at the hospital was superior to any I'd ever seen.
Since the crisis, I have received the same personal attention from Mr Lash and hospital team as my recovery progressed very well..

Stephen Lash and his team explained the procedure i needed in thorough detail and when I had op I was looked after extremely well.
Because of the coronavirus outbreak I was unable to go for post op apptmt and I had someone ring me to find out how my eye was A couple of days later Mr Lash telephoned me also to check I was ok. I felt reassured after both these phone calls.

The surgeon and all the staff I found to be excellent both in skill and caring.
I would recommend anyone to choose this Hospital if they have an eye problem.

About 3 years ago MR Lash performed me vitrectomy both eyes, which was my only salvation.
There was a huge fear of necessary steps... Finally the day came... I remember that fear was monstrous... I would not be afraid of having surgery another part of the body but it was eye... However, lying on the table I felt that I'm really in good hands, fear was over. You are a great specialist. I am and I will always be grateful to you for "new eyes".

I had to have an operation for a Macula hole. This was arranged for the week after the initial consultation, as time is of the essence. Mr Lash explained everything that was to happen and what I could expect, very clearly. On the day of the operation I was extremely anxious, but Mr Lash and all the staff were very kind and understanding. Mr Lash talked me through everything and answered all my questions (again!). I can honestly say it was completely pain free. My aftercare was thoroughly documented and explained and the process was exactly as detailed. I have had an excellent result, indeed my optician told me she has never seen such good recovery for this operation. Throughout the whole procedure, I was treated with respect and kindness and felt complete confidence in Mr Lash. He is friendly and approachable and clearly brilliant at what he does. I would absolutely recommend him.

I have been really impressed with the way I have been treated during every aspect of my care with Mr Lash and his team.
He listened and provided sound advice as to what could be achieved and then delivered on everything that we had agreed.
A true professional in his field of expertise and someone who I would thoroughly recommend.

My father who is 88 has just had his eyes done by Mr. Lash and I cannot thank him enough. He now has a new lease of life being able to get out of the house again.

I have wet macular degeneration in both eyes. For the last 6 years, Mr. Lash has maintained and improved my vision with regular injections, cataract surgery and laser treatments, so that I am still legally able to drive. He, and his team at Optegra, Whiteley, especially Tanya, are fantastic.

Stephen Lash has given me the most precious gift of sight, for which I will be eternally grateful. The exceptionally expert and caring treatment has never faltered in the 6 years I have been attending.

I would like to thank Mr Lash and his team for the care and attention received after having bilateral cataract surgery at Southampton Eye Unit. Everything was explained in detail priory and during the procedure, which was painless, and Mr Lash even gives you a wake up call the next morning to see how you are doing!

I had surgery at Southampton Eye Hospital, to correct a dislocated lens. Mr Lash removed the vitreous gel and the old lens; then, under his supervision, a colleague fastened the new lens in place. Stephen Lash and the whole team were excellent and inspired confidence throughout.

Eye surgery performed by Mr Lash was excellent and successful which I am extremely grateful for!
Private patient- Outpatient experience was in NHS environment and apart from having a consultation with Mr Lash, the experience was very much NHS!
But no complaints with the outcome!

Very grateful to Stephen and his team for saving my sight which previously I had always taken for granted. I had vitrectomy and cataract operations in both eyes over a period of six months, absolute confidence in Stephen from the beginning and the care was excellent.
