Carla Lindsey was excellent throughout my first home purchase. She was always ahead of things, making sure everything moved quickly and smoothly. Any questions or queries I had were answered promptly and clearly, and she really took the time to make sure I understood every part of the process. Her support and professionalism really took the stress out of the process. Highly recommend.

I chose Stephens Wilmot Solicitors to assist me purchasing my first property, I was not disappointed with the service I received, Elise Evans explained everything to me and nothing was ever too much, as being a first time buyer I had so many questions and Elise was there to answer all of them, she was always polite and friendly on the phone and answered any emails swiftly.

Recently used Stephens Wilmot for conveyancing on both sale and purchase. Kelly was our agent. Unfortunately our experience was not good. Communication was poor, with little transparency on process or timescales. Could not get through via phone, and email had an average 2 day turnaround. We ended up exchanging and completing a day later, because the exchange took so long to finalise. Very stressful for all parties.
There were issues with accuracy of paperwork, even down to the final bill. Very frustrating experience I am afraid.
Only exception was Ade on reception who I did manage to speak to, and she was able to provide an update when all other parties were chasing me for updates !
I think perhaps they take too much work on for resources available.

I have had a great experience as a vendor with Stephens Wilmot who have been professional, responsive and reassuring throughout the process. I knew that everything was being managed effectively whilst working with Aimee and her team, and I received clear communication throughout. After a slow start due to staff leaving, Caroline Facey was very helpful, responsive and cover all the detail in what was ultimately quite a complex transaction. Would have been 5 stars if it was just about her, but the unnecessary & uncommunicated delay by the company initially let this down.

Worked with Emma and Elise on an investment property purchase, it was important to us to expedite the title registration which was achieved extremely quickly. The legal advice was also great, and their experience and organisation makes them very easy to work with. I will use them again.

Used Cheryl for the sale and purchase of my properties and teamed up with Tracy I couldn't fault a single thing from them. Communication was absolutely on point which is something I've lacked from other solicitors and even though we were dealing with another solicitor in my sale that wasn't so communicative they pushed as much as they could and got everything wrapped up in 13 weeks. I would not recommend another team for selling and purchasing property again.

I would highly recommend Stephens Wilmot. They offer a speedy and friendly service. All calls were answered immediately and emails were responded to within minutes. Very happy with the service and the fee.

SWS and in particular Aimee and assistant Shauna, were particularly proactive in acting for me on both a sale and an onward purchase. Things got a bit fraught to meet the deadlines that had been set, but they pushed the process along to achieve a win win for all. Well done

An absolute shambles from the start. I really would not recommend, especially if you’re a first time buyer. It will be the most stressful experience, full of unnecessary confusion and complications all caused by their own staff.
We’re now 11 months after completion and due to additional money being requested for something that hasn’t been explained properly, they are still managing to cause stress all due to a particular inexperienced and unprofessional individual (Kelly Groves).

To name a few of the issues:
We were switched solicitor midway through the process without any notice, which led to further delays and Kelly Groves not understanding what had already been provided.

We were told our file was being prepared but 10 weeks later, no progress had been made and Kelly’s response was that she had been busy with other completions and had annual leave. We were CONSTANTLY told ‘it’s too early to discuss exchange or completion dates’ but despite this, we were charged an expediting fee all at the last minute, even though the only delay was on their side (likely in order for them to get this fee).

Multiple completion statements were provided along the way with inaccurate figures along with fees that were not included as part of the original quote.

Upon completion; Kelly Groves left it until the very last hour on a Friday to confirm completion had gone ahead, despite the estate agent confirming this had happened earlier in the day. I also found myself having to chase and chase for confirmation, after not hearing a single thing from her all day.

Fast forward 11 months after completion and we are still in battle with Kelly Groves after her requesting funds (over £550) for something that should have been done prior to completion.
Kelly failed to want to explain the reasoning of these extra requirements and instead sent us to a silent management company (we were not even aware of) and their solicitor to find out the information ourselves. This solicitor provided us with the information and stated they had provided Kelly with this information on 12/08, yet by the 15/09 Kelly had still not passed this onto us. The other solicitor confirmed we were due a refund due to inaccurate fees, and again, Kelly was incapable of refunding us the correct amount which resulted in them finally making 2 refund payments.

I made a formal complaint in August and again at the beginning of September and it appears they do not follow their own complaints process listed on their website, as I still have not even received even an acknowledgment let alone a response.

To still be dealing with this nearly a year after completion is not what any buyer wants, or deserves, and Stephen Wilmots should be ashamed they let this go on despite raising this several times. I’m taking this to the legal ombudsman as solicitors should not get away with being incompetent.

Once again, I do not recommend. Please find yourself a reputable company. A company that has experienced staff. A company that has someone other than ‘Just Steve from accounts’ who answers the complaint calls. SAVE YOURSELF THE STRESS!
