Disappointing end to a previously great supplier

Something has clearly happened with Sticksdirect. The website has been taken down, their email address is no longer operational and they are not answering calls or WhatsApp messages. After multiple successful purchases and good customer service experiences in the past, I had placed an order prior to the website being taken down which I received an order confirmation for but no stick has been delivered. It is completely understandable that businesses fold however accepting orders and taking money from customers prior to folding with no notice or communication is not the way to go about dissolving your business. I have logged a report with my credit card company to retrieve the monies but Sticksdirect, you didn't need to make it this difficult for your customers

Never arrived, no communication

I made a purchase on 13th of November, I received the standard order confirmation straight after, then nothing else. Almost a week later (Saturday) I contacted the company via WhatsApp and was told that they would have my order ready to sent to me on Tuesday or Wednesday. Still noting. On Friday 25th I tried to contact the company again to no success. WhatsApp messages aren’t being delivered, phone calls go straight to answering machine, email no longer in use and the website seems to have been taken down. This is very upsetting as these are expensive products and other people I know have had good experiences with this company and recommend them. I’m hoping that there is some issue with everything and this can all be sorted.

Stick Never Arrived

Stick Never Arrived

Poor communication, ignores emails and calls. Instructed my bank to recover monies paid In goodwill. Advertises sticks but then they don't have them in stock as a "newer model" has come out so dont have the one you ordered. USELESS, DODGY and a JOKE

We did post your stick out but you stated you had cancelled the order and didn't want it anymore via email hence why you were refunded.

We sell a lot of hockey sticks to a lot of happy customers (over 100 sticks a week) and yes we store all our stock in the warehouse in europe that we share with a major european retailer so they do take a few days to arrive and with the postage strike, like the rest of the uk, we were hit with a few delays that we had no control over, thankfully the majority of our customers have been really understanding and thoughtful.

Good price, good product, poor experience

The stick I ordered was a very good price for a good stick so I’m happy with that. However, it took a month to get here and the customer service was laughable. Every time I asked for an update I got a message to say ‘the stick arrived today’ or ‘the stick is being shipped tomorrow’, but over the course of a month it was obvious that none of that was true. Conveniently, as soon as I asked for a refund, the stick was sent within 20 minutes via UPS and arrived the next day.

Hi Gabriel, as mentioned during our conversations, the royal mail postage strike had a huge effect on our backlog and delivery dates changed daily (and still is having a small impact).

Your stick arrived the day before you requested a refund and the postage had already started before you emailed us, we resent the tracking number to you as at times they can get lost in your spam/junk folder.

Glad you got your stick and you like it and found it a good value - which is what we try and achieve with all our sticks, access to elite sticks at cost price with majority of profits going back into the game through junior hockey or grass roots hockey.

we do advise people if they want next day delivery then to call us before ordering to check weather the stick is UK stock or if we are shipping in from the warehouse in europe.

if an item isn't in stock and you need it immediately then we always recommend and suggest trying other retailer who we partner with across the UK.

Obviously we know you wont get the same discounts from other UK retailers.

Great advice on the correct stick for a developing defender. Great prices to match. Would recommend and would definitely use again.

Very efficient customer services via WhatsApp. Helped me to choose a stick that would be shipped immediately. The stick I really wanted was in Europe so would have taken about 5 - 6 days to arrive. Too long when your stick broke and someone pinched your spare!!
Stick arrived 24hours later. Minor scratching at the top which would have been a problem if I wasn't cutting it down, but otherwise a good stick for a very good price.
Hadn't actually realised some of the sticks are seconds.
Might be better if this was highlighted better on the site and delivery times added to information about each individual stick. After all there would be nothing to complain about if you knew this in advance.
All in all a good experience and I would definitely buy from here again.

More than 90 percent of our sticks come from either team sales across Europe, retailers who have gone into liquidation or wholesalers.

10 percent come from the manufacturer with small print issues that even we can't spot, like dust under the griptech etc

All new in bags ready to be used in games.

Poor quality items

Bought 2 sticks ..... BOTH have a "crunching" noise from blade area after first use but not covered by warranty. Very disappointing quality items. Delivery time and communication were good.
