buy stihl or husqvarna!
I bought a pole saw/hedge trimmer with large battery. Always previously used stihl/Husqvarna petrol products. Having not much use,the chainsaw head packed up just out of warranty.I bought another head. Chains keep flicking off both heads when cutting small branches.The new head has now packed up along with the hedge cutter after probably only 20 hours use.I keep battery indoors and charge occasionally.It shows full charge.
I really cant recommend this manufacturer or the local dealer. Will be buying stihl/hisqvarna in future
Update 17/12/25 Stiga have responded and I have been back to dealer who was very helpful.I'm not yet convinced about the equipment quality. I have mailed Stiga customer services/call centre

Really too early to comment.
Really too early to comment reason being, there was no grass to cut, all brown due to dry weather.
New growing season hopefully next year can make a more accurate assessment.

I was very pleased to be able to buy directly from Stiga. The website was easy to navigate and the pruning saw arrived super quick and well protected.

The directional change lever did not…
The directional change lever did not correspond with the mechanism, so instead of reversing, the machine went forward and drove over the obstruction I was trying to miss. This caused the cutters to fail. Repaired under warranty but the first time I used it, the blade that had been damaged in the first incident, dropped odd. I noticed that there was a notch in the cutting edge of the blade that couldn’t have been caused since the repair, as I hadn’t started to use it. I had it repaired privately.
Also, the button that must be pressed and held to ensure cutting in reverse is ridiculously small. I cannot press it when wearing gloves.
This machine would work well on a large, open lawn, but on a domestic garden, with irregular flowerbeds it is too cumbersome.

Wobbly rear wheel
Ordering and delivery excellent. Ordered day 1 delivered day2. Well packed. Easy assembly and operation straight forward. My only criticism is one of the rear wheels is wobbly. Seems to be attached ok but I will keep an eye on it having only used it for the first time today. If the issue gets worse I will find out how the after sales service stands up. Apart from this one small issue I am pleased with the purchase.

Lack of User Guide.
There was little information about assembly or user guide supplied. OK there is a bar code link but those links don't explain how to use it. In the end I found a You Tube in some foreign language and with a Google translater discovered where to put a plastic key in the starter button but I should not have to do this. I'm guessing someone took out the user guide from my package? If so you could send me one please. I bought early because of an offer but I will not use it until next spring so cannot review it's performance yet.
