Having seen a recent TV advert for smart meters I thought I would recover the ihd from under the kitchen sink and see if it would work again. Unfortunately it still doesn't I have been fobbed off by eon for what seems like forever all they say is its a network issue and it might work again sometime, alas it still doesn't so is going back in the cupboard, it's about as much use as a chocolate tea pot, it's still waiting for data, after 2 hours of being on, you would think the display would say by now "I give up there isn't any data " waste of time I was told by lady on the phone not to throw it in the bin but what am I supposed to do with it.

I made a major mistake when i signed up for a smart meter, thinking of how easy it would be to top up without going outside to do so. Just think real hard before you get a smart meter. My bill increased rather than decrease it messed up my wireless service for days the in-home display does not work and the energy provider is declaring oblivion to the whole situation. Therefore you go smart meter you're stuck with it because they are forcing an increase in energy use with these smart meters.
Complete rubbish
Complete rubbish! Display reads very inaccurate data for Gas, and losses connection all the time, even through it is 1.5 meters aware from the elec / gas box. Hard to understand how it can be so bad in all honesty.
Don't bother
Installed smart meters, took over 3 hours .Indoor readout worked for 4 months,now dead and meters no longer giving readings to company who refuse to replace .What a load of rubbish and what are the government doing about it?

Guy (Eon)came out already admitting that smart meter would not work. Had to reinstall old meter after hours of work and then walked away leaving us with mega alarm problem which we now have to pay to fix. Do not have a smart meter!
1st gen is smart again
1st generation smart meter is now sending my meter readings off to my new provider. I had OVO 1st generation smart meters installed approx 4 years ago. After my contract ended I switch to another provider and it reverted back to a trad meter meaning I had to read my meter every month and send them in online. I have just switched to Bulb energy and it’s now smart again. 😊 Just had my first statement and they are read readings not estimated. Absolutely made up as I was a bit useless trying to remember to send them in every month.

What a pile of rubbish smart meters are worked for 6 months and hasnt worked since 18 months of estimated Bill's because I cant work out how to read the meters otherwise I wouldnt care I allways read them myself befor they put the rubbish in and trying to get anything done about it is next to impossible

Disgraceful service from Scottish Power Had a smart meter installed in my flat…
Had a smart meter installed in my flat last week 09/12/20. I noticed my storage heaters stopped working after this was installed. I reported this to Provider, a company commissioned by Scottish Power, to install the smart meter. They said l would have to get Scottish Power to send them a Workflow request, for Provider to come out to my flat again. When l rang Scottish Power, tgey said l have to call in my iwn electrician, at my own expence, to check the meter first before they will do anything about it. Frankly disgraceful and corrupt. Make sure you do not agree to changing your meter with anyone unless you have written assurance that any after faults will be rectified by them at their expence. A lot of vulnerable, elderly and sick people live in this building and buildings like it. How would they cope in this situation. Scottish Power should be renamed as they do not deserve to have the word Scottish in their title.
Smart Meters and Scottish Power do not use.
This is how it effect me after having Smart Meters fitted by Scottish Power, after fitting the Electric Meter they would not change the Gas Meter as well so I had to give them a Gas Meter reading every month, with everything switched off the indicator reads 20 Watts still being burned, after many calls they changed the Gas Meter but will not connect up the wireless signal, I still have to give Scottish Power a monthly Gas reading, if you ring Scottish Power it has a 2 Hour wait, DO NOT SWITCH TO SMART METERS ALSO DON'T GET YOUR POWER FROM SCOTTISH POWER.

They claim identity theft is possible if a smart meter is hacked. A smart meter collects energy usage and the time of day. It does not know or have access to personal information.
They say energy bills rose 40% in the USA.
They probably did but that’s got sod all to do with British Gas fitting a smart meter in my house.
They say a smart meter is like having CCTV in your house and is a violation of the Data Protection Act.
Really? At best I could look at the spike in energy use from a smart meter and maybe have a good guess that when it happened in the morning someone got out of bed.
Whoever is behind this has a vast amount of money to waste printing leaflets that frankly have little basis of fact contained on them.
Stop putting crap through my door!
DON't let them install a SMART meter in your home!
So-called SMART meters are a danger to public health. Imagine allowing a company to install a mobile phone mast in your livingroom. The microwave radiation emitted from these devices has been proven to impact on human health.
YOU HAVE A CHOICE. You are not required to have a smart meter installed in your house. All you have to do is say no.
Don't be one of the complacent masses. Visit the website for more information and help educate your neighbours on this crucial matter. Their smart meters affect you too.
