Steam f-up my account, now 80% of games are gone; and THERE IS NOW WAY TO CONTACT THEM about it: this company is total filth

Buying games on steam is easy, you can get a refund within 2 weeks if you haven't played the game more than 2 hours for whatever reason. There are tons of extra features - achievements, discussion forums, etc. Steam revolutionized game distribution creating a great ecosystem with tons of great indie games.

Increadibly bloated. Stuffed with useless tools which only takes up space and which makes playing and buying games more difficult.

I still consider Steam the worst thing that ever happened to gaming on PC. Why use an application to load your applications? Isn't that windows if for already ...

DL a game (DAYZ) constant kicked out of game for no reason. Playtime online maybe 30 mns. But I didn't close the game, STEAM says no refund I "played" the game more then 2 hours!?! No WAY. I can't reply, case closed for STEAM. NEVER I will buy one game on steam, I hate it when it is not fair, this is not fair at all.

The Steam mobile app totally unfit for purpose and CS are either willfully unhelpful or lacking any support skills. Not what I expected after buying an Oled version for almost £500. The console itself is great. Support... is not. The app leaves information "trapped" so i am unable to purchase a dock as a gift. Mary failed to comprehend the issue or to bother reading the question. Allen told me it was a restriction on purchase another even though the app has no problem putting it in to basket and only errors because the cache retained the last purchase info. Steams own community say its a year old problem that Steam cba to resolve. Joy.

This is acceptable i add 25$ to my account they approved the transaction from the bank but steam is reviewing my payment and still i cannot see my money anywhere

Couldn't get a refund on game that didn't work!

Got anally fckd by Steam bassically wanted to add money to my steam wallet which should have taken 2 hours already took 3 almost 4 hours and can't close the menu without my transaction being cancelled or my money being gone and also unlucky enough to do it via geforce now and money is gonna be gone in aproximately 2 hours and 40 minutes also getting ghosted by support for more than 1 hour 30 minutes already so don't add money to your wallet if you're outside of america and especially not on geforce now

They are doing some illegal stuff + rude support

The technology is fine in the sense it will generally work.

The problems start the second you need any customer services at all. It call itself a technology company when it can't even manage to support a password change after 26hrs.

Lucky Americans are in the middle of a class action and arbitration. If valve lose then maybe some competition will appear forcing them to actually look at what they do.

Its quicker to change a password with a bank or broker than this outfit.

It wasn't complex. The accounts had 1 email and 1 phone number since its creation 10 or 11 years ago. What is more two seperate humans have tended to the ticket and neither was proactive.

Its a great place tons of games tons of fun theres a new update where u get more controlle its hard to get hacked or stolen money its not a scam and u get full controle over ur game u can do what u want u can link up with other fans in the steam community theres a workshop build in so u dont have to install virus for mods theres not so good customer service but inchange you get more controlle so you dont need to go to customer servive to reset password email u can get your acc back ez my 13 yr old kid got hacked and it was ez to get back u just needed to either get in from gmail telefone or mobile app then just kick all devices or kick unknowed devices and change password and boom hacker kicked

I've been using Steam since 2011 when my dad set-up an account for me and my brother, fast forward to 2023 and I'm still using it near-daily. The platform is simple to use and has an immense amount of personalisation and customisability for all aspects ranging from player profiles to games library to store preferences. Their Steam Authenticator is one of a kind and extremely easy to secure and protect your account.
People reviewing about being scammed and having their accounts hacked have only themselves to blame due to ignorance of what they are doing. I myself, due to stupidity, have had my account hacked, back before any steam authenticator was setup and therefore can say that it has never been an issue since - my account was returned and restored with the help of customer support.
There is no wonder Steam is the most popular gaming platform on PC due to having the biggest availability of games out of all gaming platforms. The store front is quite simple to use/find the games you love as well as the discovery queue to quickly browse games that are recommended to your gaming tastes.
Can not recommend anything other for those wanting to start out on PC Gaming.

I really love buying from steam I always get the card fast and I've never had problems with the website. I just wish they would give more coupons or do a deal like buy 2 (100) dollar steam cards for 105..that would be awesome.

Steam is an evil authoritarian company who uses underhanded tactics to try and claim that you don't actually own the games that you buy. Even though elsewhere on the website, it *does* use language like "you own this game".
Their EULA demands absolute loyalty to them, has a clause against whistle blowers, and tries to tell its users that they're not allowed to take them to court - they are basically saying "we are doing unethical things and we know it!"
They hire random people to be "global mods" on steam, claim that these people are not employees of Valve but are just volunteers. Don't forget - just because you consentually work for them for free, doesn't mean you don't work for them and that your actions don't reflect on the company.
At one point, they used the Steam forums' anti-swear filter to block out the words "Kinguin" and "G2A" - not to avoid inflammatory language but to try to keep people from learning about the existance of other companies - withholding of knowledge - just because the existance of those companies is financially inconvienient for them.
I have spoken to members of Steam support before, and they talked to me just as immaturely as their global mods did. As much as Steam touts it's apparent "professionality" of the platform, they are anything but that. They are just playground bullies of the internet, and they like to monopolize PC gaming. They also have a bunch of laughably broken glitches in their system. Exploit them as much as you can I say. They love to scam people, and they deserve a taste of their own medicine. This is not revenge, it is fighting fire with water.

for everyone saying this website is a scam well its not its the best game store, you can upload play story/AAA/any type of game on this platform, and no the cia is not spying on you as someone said in the reviews, i usually trust trustpilot reviews but the reviews on steam just makes me laugh as they're probably the guys that say "epic store>steam" "epic store is better" i mean don't get me wrong epic store is good but steam beats it by a long shot as alot of good games are only on steam so yeah don't trust these reviews as they're probably a bunch of boomers

Steam is a platform for hackers !! and i hav play counter strik for 16 years, and i dont know way Steam dont do annything abaut it. I hope Steam gonna wake up. or i´m don playing on this platform and hope i´t will get others to see it and do the same.

I've been using steam for 12 years, and I've always had a pretty good experience. There's been a few times that I've purchased software that didn't function correctly, Steam has been prompt and fair with refunds. They frequently have sales with incredible pricing that I can't pass up, hence why I have so many titles that I haven't even played in my steam library!

The only knock that I would have on them is they've had such success with their storefront, that they no longer appear to be developing games. I mean they created Half-Life Alyx, they maintain Dota 2, and released an update for Counterstrike. Where's Team Fortress 3, Half-Life 3, Left 4 Dead 3? There's no incentive for them to put resources into that, since their storefront is so successful, and that ends up being a net loss for gamers.

Steam is the ultimate evil!
They spy on you, con you and manipulate you, all in the name of money, they have no honor or sense of fair play.
They also work closely together with some of the worlds biggest manufacturers of the war industry and have people from MI6, CIA and Mossad reviewing your every move.
If you have any sense of self preservation, avoid Steam at all costs.
