After badgering my Dad to write his story down for years I finally realised this wasn't going to happen and so brought in the professionals. StoryTerrace is a fantastic way to capture your story, the book really captures my dad's character and we now finally have a beautiful record that has already been shared with friends and family. Barnaby (writer) and Alicer (producer) were great. My dad struggled a little bit with being the main point of contact and he missed a few emails that came to him prompting him to carry out the next step but the process itself is not too complicated although still required some time. Overall I would highly recommend Story Terrace.

My daughter and I purchased a package to write my autobiography, and while our experience started positively, significant issues arise over time.
I had a great experience at the beginning of my journey. The writer is an amazing person and very talented. From the day we contracted with Story Terrace my daughter and I explained to the administration that it will take time to write a book and we are not in a hurry to do so. I'm a very busy businessman with many responsibilities on my shoulders.
Hidden Charges: From the outset, we were informed of various additional charges beyond the basic package, including:
Charges for exceeding word limits (e.g., $1,875 for 5,000 extra words and $2,250 for 6,000 additional words).
Fees for extra time with the writer, additional pictures, and even lines and pages.
A charge of $500 for a one-month project extension from August 14 to September 14, 2024.
Invoice #E8FEFFE9-0001
Aug 14 – Sep 14, 2024
Project extension fees - Novella
Qty 1
$500.00
Total due
$500.00
Amount paid
$0.00
Amount remaining
$500.00
While some of these fees are understandable to a degree, they were not transparently communicated at the start, leading to unexpected financial burdens.
Poor Customer Service: The representative handling our case, Xiaofang Ma, has been unresponsive to both phone calls and emails. This has impacted our ability to make timely edits to the manuscript, as access to our own book has been blocked. I have requested a call from her supervisor but have yet to receive a response.
Project Delays Due to Communication Issues: As a busy businessman, I explicitly communicated from the beginning that this project would take time, and we were not in a rush. The communication failures from your end have caused unnecessary stress and have delayed the progress of the book.
This experience has significantly impacted my trust in Story Terrace, and I Would not recommend the company to any of my friends or family members.

I asked storyTerrace for bespoke help in writing a book on osteopathy for the public. They were exemplary in their professionalism and execution of the work. I have the book on my desk and I am delighted with the production. I will use them again without hesitation

Hariny and Steph(my writer)have been nothing but amazing helping me through every step of this process. Giving me sound advice and answering all my questions quickly and with care. Story terrace thank you so much for getting my first book completed 😊

First heard about Story Terrace on Dragons Den but only followed up on that in January this year when I “stumbled” across their URL still open on my phone. Extremely professional people from Lucien who made the initial contact through to my writer Gill and Editor Alice who both captured my vulnerable story telling beautifully. The process and steps to be taken are very easy to follow, although as a very busy working woman I did find it hard to keep up with their pace! The book went to print (20 copies) on Tuesday 23.7.24 and I received them on Saturday 27.7!! Quality is exceptional, although at £60 per extra copy, it should be. I am delighted with the end result and would strongly recommend Story Terrace to anyone wanting a simple, practical, and friendly route to telling your own story.

I was guided by experts from start to finish and this was crucial in producing a book that I think is a true reflection of my story and the quality of the printed book is superb.
I would strongly recommend that if anyone is serious and is prepared to invest time and money in writing their story they should look to use and work with story terrace in the first instance.

Although I was nervous about doing this, I felt comfortable with my editor and ghost writer, I did have a few unsettling moments when I had to change quite a bit of the story line, which quite frustrated me, as I did say the story needs to read true, but to be fair the editor and writer did change things for me quite quickly, and got it all correct at the end, so am completely satisfied now with the finished book

It turned out well. Those who have read it seem impressed not just with the content.
The only downside was occasionally the content for a section disappeared. This was sorted rapidly.
The experience was a great one and I would recommend them to anyone who wants to give writing a try.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. Storyterrace went into administration at the end of 2023. The company knew this was going to happen but just days beforehand they still let me purchase two Swift ST packages for which I paid £1198. I bought two vouchers for my parents as a Christmas present but unfortunately they decided they did not want to go through this book writing process. I requested a refund in early January and was told that I would receive a full refund. After then calling and sending more than fifteen emails I was assured that my refund had been approved and was on the way. In May I was still being assured that I would receive a full refund. I was then informed that the company was in fact IN ADMINISTRATION and that I’d have to request a refund from the administrators. After receiving no replies to the multiple emails I sent to the administrator, on 18th June I was sent a full administrators’ report from which I gleaned that I would not receive a single penny back from this company. The company had started up again sometime after it went into administration and is still taking orders from customers and trading as Storyterrace. It is abhorrent that the company would accept my order, then agree to a full refund, ignore my subsequent emails and calls and effectively steal £1198 from me.
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DISPICABLE COMPANY.

My experience has been very good. There was a slight hiccup but they sorted it out and the staff were very professional. They helped me do the book. They pointed me in the right direction suggested things which I either take or leave. They were very helpful. I'm very happy with the book how it has turned out. I am now ready for it to go online and for me to hit the world running

Back in or around late 2023 I had been inquiring about ghostwriting services through Story Terrace. I was working with a sales guy Ben. Who listened to my story idea and what I was wanting. He encouraged the premium writer package. It had 12500 words and a premium writer. I paid in a total of 3 installments. Two payments in Nov and December for $1,190 and then a lump payment of $3,570 in Jan equalling $5950. Soon after I was pushed into this, the company was sold. It has been a nightmare since. Very disorganized, the timeline for my book has been extended multiple times. After I finally got the first draft/outline it was so poorly written I couldn't believe so I had others read it without giving my opinion so not to influence theirs. They all came back saying it was so bad and hard to follow, like a kid wrote it. When I expressed this to ST they then told me that an AI wrote it. I NEVER! Would have agreed to an AI writing this. my story has trauma, rape, strong emotions that AI cannot describe! The writing the AI did of my violent rape was just so bad, It almost made me cry. Just a terrible experience overall! I have been seriously frustrated with the lack of communication and failure to make the requests and changes I have asked for. I am so disappointed in the drafts I have been given. Now to make matters worse not only are they asking for more money for something I ended up almost entirely writing myself, they seem to have lost record of my lump payment in Jan that I gave the sales rep over the phone. I want a full refund and I will write my own story. I no longer have faith in this company or whatever company bought them. This was clearly high pressure sales tactics used to get me to sign up and pay. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and they never responded so BBB closed it for lack of response from the business. I am now persuing the Attorney General and FTC. This is a scam and bait and switch!

Googled "how to get a book written & published" and Story Terrace came up. Have not been disappointed with the service I have received from start to finish. There were a couple of misunderstandings with my first interviews but these got rectified efficiently and Zoe & Alice have been extremely helpful in making my dream book become a reality.

I frequently told my family that I'd like to write about my early life - so different from my own children's and grandchildren's. Realising that I perhaps never would, they signed me up with Book Terrace.
I am so grateful that they did and that I have at last written my story before it's too late! It has been a most rewarding experience and everyone I have dealt with has been very pleasant, helpful and encouraging.
Possibly unusually, I actually wanted to write it myself, with professional guidance. I probably did not make that clear enough from the start. My first (very lovely) writer was willing but not really at ease with what I needed.
I would advise anyone wanting to use their own words to make it clear from the start before choosing a 'writer'. That is advice, in no way a criticism!

From the introductory meeting to the final publication, the whole process was straightforward and professionally supported throughout.
Due to close family bereavements, it was necessary to extend our deadline, and this was arranged with thoughtfulness and care.
All amendments were quickly dealt with and appropriate advice provided throughout.
If anyone is thinking of writing a book but not sure how to go about it, I would recommend speaking with Story Terrace and see if they can help … they certainly did with us!

I am pleased with the finished book. The editor, Martin McLauchlan, has been very helpful and supportive.
