Terrible, please avoid it!

Absolutely terrible customer service and back-end support. It's either "We can't do anything about it." or "Yeah, too bad, deal with it." They have a 'Troubleshooting manual' that doesn't help anyone and their operability is very limited.
Definitely letting my contact end and switching to a different supplier.

I'm sorry to hear that you are not happy with our customer service. We always try to help our customers as much as we can, but there are indeed limits to what we can do when it comes to the configuration of the website/server, because we do not have access to said configuration.

No service

The most bad service ever. I regret that I ever started with Strato. I had a VPS package and because it was "unmanaged" they refused to help me further. It was a waste of time.

Het is natuurlijk vervelend als je niet de support krijgt die je wenst te hebben. Echter zegt het woordje 'unmanaged' natuurlijk al wel wat dit bedoeld, dat wij inderdaad niet helpen met de configuratie van je server. Hiervoor kun je externe (betaalde) diensten nemen bijvoorbeeld.

Daarbij heeft mijn collega vrij veel tips nog gegeven en zo zijn best gedaan je wat op weg te helpen. Jammer dat dit niet voldoende was.

Wij bieden natuurlijk de 30-dagen-geld-terug-garantie. Ik hoop dat je elders een managed server kunt aanschaffen!

Actually horrendous service

Actually horrendous service

I've just joined strato 2 weeks ago. Everything was fine and I got everything setup very quickly by myself. Until I had to get an SSL validation. The procedure is absolutely depressing. It's some automates system and the "humans" at strato OR Digicert (the external company doing the validation proces) for that matter, don't have a clue about what's going on. A simple request to CANCEL the SSL Validation request has now taken 2 weeks. With me sending both parties email's and chat messages and phone calls over 15 times.

Everytime the same thing happens.

>Digicert automated message that SSL validation proces has started
>Me mailing them it has to be cancelled because I don't need it
>Digicert sending me a 2 word e-mail saying the have cancelled it
>Digicert sends another automated message that the SSL validation proces has started AGAIN
>Repeat

When talking to strato about this and actually begging them to just stop this procedure so I can continue working on my website, they either ignore me, send some short default reply, or tell me they cancelled it, which after 2 weeks they still have not ...

Strato doesn't treat its customers like people. I don't know where these random 5 start reviews are from. But DON'T CONSIDER STRATO. Choose anything else

I have reviewed the way this case has been handled by us, and I have to agree that this is not the way we want to help our customers. I can see multiple communication failures, for which I want to offer our apologies.

By now, the SSL certificate has been cancelled and the costs are being refunded within three weeks.

So bad it's honestly impressive

Everybody complaining about customer service but have you tried the builder yet..?
Worst website builder i've ever seen. Cancelled after messing around for a few hours and realised how useless it is. I tried to google how to change things and all I could find were outdated guides on how to solve non-problems.
Cancelled the same day I joined. Went over to Wix but now I can't transfer my domain for 60 days. So I'm stuck with this crap builder or I'm forced to change my domain.

The transferblock on a .com-domain is not a blockage set by Strato, but by ICANN. Unfortunately, you therefore can't move your domain in the first 60 days after registration.

Strato DON't do it! No Answer on email! and 400% price increase in 1 year

Worst customer experience ever!

I accepted this nice German advert, with a low price and good expectations. I did NOT signup for the 600% price increase!
From 1 Euro (inc vat) per month to 36 Euro per half year.

I asked multiple times to Stop and terminate..
Guess what; Intrum finance services came knocking on my door for another payment.

Strato: like German Police! Eins Zwei.. Polizei.

The € 1,- deal is a special deal for the first couple of months (number of months depending on the chosen package). The normal price of the packages is clearly shown on our website, together with the discounted price.

Affordable and convenient

Affordable and convenient. Easy interface. Relatively quick setup. Downside: would be great to have usernames/emails for login rather than contract numbers. Sometimes upselling approach is a bit aggressive. Too many extras in many places. It would make it less annoying if it's done a bit more subtly.

Slow performance -- php settings to fix

Slow performance .. What is going on? (8oct2020)
Slow wordpress.. permalinks give web.config notifications?
Updates in wordpress getting 500 errors, cannot install plugins.
Wordpress installed with Plesk.

After The answer from Strato : Checked the Wordpress PHP settings in Plesk, changed the upload_max_filesize (16MB) & activityTimeout (120) and the plugin install worked!

Since all our servers are unmanaged, and we don't have access to your configuration, I'm afraid I can't help you solve this problem. DONT BECOME A CUSTOMER Really terrible customer service

Really terrible customer service, I have been trying to resolve a problem for more than a month. Employees lie and promise fake solutions and then never hearing back from them.

Very slow performance of one of my VPS

I have been happy with Strato since years, but since end of May one of my Linux VPS is terrible slow (unusable most time of the day/night).
Strato admits the problems and tells me they are working on it. But it is going on for almost 4 months now!
Problems are caused because the IO speed drops from 600 MB/sec to less then 1 MB/sec

The worst customer service I have met…

The worst customer service I have met in my whole life. rude staff and unfriendly. Also bad system, I have stoped my hosting more than 3 times on the dashboard and by calling BUT They're still charging me for nothing. Not only that, but I also have Credit nota. They did not buy it back after thousands of calls with the rude girl from service desk...

I am working with different Webhosting companies such as sitground, HostGator, blue host, and more but so bad treatment I DID Not face.

They have their own dashboard, it's so bad to compare with the other providers
