Good building control service by Stroma. Came recommended and delivered well on my loft-conversion project. 4 stars not 5 as I had to chase up a couple of times to get a response via phone/email but overall very professional, thorough and friendly. Would recommend.

We had a fantastic experience working with Rajvir and Harvir (Leicester based). They were extremely thorough, professional, and knowledgeable, ensuring that every aspect of our project met the required standards. Their attention to detail and clear communication made the inspection process smooth and stress-free. We appreciated their willingness to answer questions and provide helpful insights through all hours of the day. Highly recommend Stroma for anyone in need of a reliable and experienced building inspector around the midlands. Will definitely use again in the future.

We are a reputable building company and have used Stroma for a couple years now. We are happy with the services they provide, but In particular we have dealt with Matt Roskilly. A professional and knowledgeable person that has an interest in how projects are constructed. Would recommend and currently using them on our projects.

As a busy Building Company we have been using Stroma for over 5 years now and they are our first choice by a long way. The site inspectors we have been allocated have been exemplary & always willing to help. Our main business of domestic refurbishment often has grey areas & Stroma have always been extremely helpful in finding acceptable solutions. Very pleased with their service all around & we would recommend.

their telphone line person had zero knowledge how to handle the query and said had no way to communicate to the so called professionals responsible

after about a week just for a qoute -not the work- please judge their response yourself [you MUST have not wasted customers time]

My latest project in the West Midlands was overseen to completion by Karandeep Singh, who was readily available regarding stage bookings and emailed/telephone consultation and was also of great assistance. Very poor attitude towards my project. Constantly had to chase Matt Roskilly who was assigned to my project with times even having to ring the main office to try and get hold of him due to not answering he’s phone or replying to my messages. Believe it or not he didn’t even step one foot on my extension site to inspect once. He sent someone else to check the footings then everything after was oh just send me photos, yes that’s fine carry on. I finished my project and chased for around a month to get a final inspection then a man just turned up one day out of the blue and it was lucky I was there. He made a report saying the extension was build to high standards but when I asked for my certificate Matt decided he wanted to chase things up what was done at the start of the project
So I’ve asked him to actually come to site so we can discuss and he tried to palm me off with someone else again so I said no it needs to be you and I’m still waiting on hes response.
I feel I never got the service I paid for. Would not recommend.

I have to say the level of incompetence used by this company is amazing. One visit, then another then they want photos then they want a site visit. It never ends.

The worst run building control company I have ever used. I asked for sign off for a unit on a 5 house development months ago now. The lead surveyor in charge has blanked us the entire time, his assistant has responded twice with very little information. We then received a letter from their head office saying that they were going to have to ask the council to extend the initial notice alongside a huge list of documents apparently outstanding, 95% of which we had provided and 5% which we had never been told that we needed to provide or that we had specifically been told by the lead surveyor that we did not need to provide. Their head office have promised action but delivered nothing. Our broker calls them several times a week or emails and gets no response. He has told me to never use Stroma moving forward as they have taken on huge amounts of work from some other building control companies that have gone bust recently and they are not capable of dealing with what they have taken on and that many of the customers they have are now suffering as a result. We are likely to lose the buyer we have now and are about to issue a letter before action to Stroma. BE WARNED - NEVER EVER USE STROMA FOR YOUR BUILDING CONTROL. Appalling service.

Stroma Building Control was appointed to undertake building regulation plan checking and inspection on our domestic project in 2019. Our architects and builders submitted all necessary information and photographs. The inspection work was not completed and a final certificate for the building works was never issued.

I paid Stroma's invoice for an initial part of the estimated fee in August 2019. They stated: “The remaining fee will be billed upon commencement of works.” I never received a second invoice and never heard from the company again.

Our builders wrote to various people at Stroma on several occasions about this uncompleted work, most recently on 24 August this year, making it clear that we needed the final certificate as part of the paperwork for selling this property. No replies were ever received to those messages. I wrote formally to Stroma on 4th December but it was neither acknowledged nor responded to.

We are currently readying this property for sale and we must have the final inspection paperwork as part of the required documentation for sale. A complaint to the compliance manager at Stroma this month has similarly been ignored. I would like to take legal action but it would be too costly and time consuming for what it is worth and the work would still not be done. A completely frustrating position to be in. I would never recommend anyone to become involved with this company.
