Depens on what you want from it, i like it, but it has bugs.

Works for some of the features the offer, not for all, so it depends on what are you looking for.
I wanted to see if the explainer videos would work, and when they do it's awesome, i get a 30s (give or take) video that summarises what i want to learn, and that way i know if it's what i'm looking for or not. The video may not look the best visually, but they explain, so that's ok. I have a problem when the upload crashes, bc you'll have a "gallery" of your videos, but the ones that crashed are still there, and there's nothing that you can do about it (that i could tell). Also, sometimes i upload videos (or materials in general) and even if i then delete them from my study sets, when i go to create videos from materials, they're still there, and it feels very cluttery.
The whole video thing is in beta, so i just hope they'll fix my problems.
I've only tried the videos, flashcards, and general tests. I like the quizzes, but they're still in beta, so i cant skip questions.
In the tests you can choose how many of each type of question you want, in quizzes you cant, and sometimes i dont want to sit there and write 100 words on something, i just want quick studies.
And the reason why i use both even when one includes the questions i dont like is bc they're different things (ofc). Quizzes tell you after each question what you had wrong, and ask you again later if you had it wrong. A test waits for all answers and then checks what you had wrong.
What i most like about it is that i can upload videos (file OR youtube) , and then ask for summaries, and most important of all, chat with someone about it. I ask stuff like "i know in general about this topic, does this video talk about x?", "do this two videos talk about the same thing?", "i wrote a summary about the topic, am i missing something?". And the answers always come back with time stamps, so if i dont understand the chatbot, i can go back to the specific time in the video.
So, recommended? Yes. Do you need patience to navigate the ui? Also yes.
Devs, if you're reading, you have something, please fix.

Auto Renewal without your CONSENT!

I signed up for 1 year subscription for school. I now got an email of an "Automatic Renewal" for another year! 1. I only purchased 1 year. 2. I never signed up for my CC to be kept on file. 3. I never agreed to an automatic renewal. I will be reporting this site to the BBB, as they are telling me that I can not be refunded. They payment hadn't even posted! The company should send out an email to remind you that an "Auto Renewal" will be taking place first before processing ANYTHING!

Fraud, misleading, DOES NOT WORK, just use ChatGPT

It doesn't work. Terrible app. It's such a hassle to even download the summary of a video or class. They are also misleading, and they charge you full price after a month or cunningly offer discounts that won't apply when charging you. Their customer service is also terrible.

Use ChatGPT. Their service will never keep up with new developments from OpenAI and Google. Use good prompts.

Also they ask you "contact them" but it's a smoke screen, in reality their customer service don't care to help, they just don't want real comments of real people using their terrible app.

it does not work

I was initially super excited to find Fetch Study because the idea of turning documents into podcasts sounded amazing. I eagerly submitted a document (6–9 pages long), expecting a full summary with audio. Unfortunately, the app only summarized the first part of the document, and I thought maybe I needed a subscription for the full features.

I purchased the subscription, believing it would solve the issue, but it didn’t. Even with the paid version, the app still only summarized the first section of the document. When I asked it to summarize the rest, it did so in text-only format—not as an audio podcast.

Thinking I could work around this, I tried uploading images of the document. However, the app only lets you submit one picture at a time, which is very limiting. Copy-pasting the text didn't help either because when I tried to convert it into audio, the app said it wasn’t possible.

In the end, while the concept is fantastic, the app is incredibly buggy and doesn’t deliver on its promises. It feels like a waste of money, and I regret subscribing. Nice idea, but poor execution. One star.

make flashcards generate better

Why is there an additional fee if I use the calling option? It's really unfair. Although it does help me study in a way, I wish the flashcards were better when generated from my lectures. However, it doesn't give more details and information on the subjects.

This is good for studying Live Lectures…

This is good for studying Live Lectures but please make improvements to the site. The UI on the website needs fixing and we should be able to edit the Live lecture transcriptions. I really love the Live Lectures feature but they should add an option where we can edit the transcription it generates to regenerate to fix becuase it does fully capture all the words. Thanks Please fix I would love to see these improvements made.

Real rip-offs

I purchased an annual subscription to Studyfetch. After 1 morning I had found errors in the tests made and answers suggested by studyfetch. After I found these errors, I stopped using the site. I asked for a refund because I am not satisfied with the site. I even said that they could charge for 1 month because I used the site for 1 morning. But they said this was not possible. Real rip-offs.

I rarely write reviews

I rarely write reviews, but this is honestly the worst app I’ve ever used. The quiz feature only offers extremely basic questions that don’t allow for meaningful learning. You can’t select a difficulty level, and the maximum question limit is 20. The option to set a specific question format is flawed, so it randomly includes various question types—not just mcq.

After paying for the app, I discovered that certain features, like a call option, require an additional fee. I used the call feature for a less than 10 minutes before it stopped, saying I’d run out of minutes and needed to pay an extra $49 for 5 HOURS. When I requested a refund because the app doesn’t meet my needs for exam prep, their response was that their product didn’t fail to function as advertised and engineers had tried to help and but couldn’t, so no refund would be issued.

Don’t waste your money. Apps like Quizlet and ChatGPT are better for much less.

Hi,

We're sorry to hear that you ran into certain issues with our platform. Our QuizFetch feature is made on a certain algorithm that will help you quickly understand and reproduce information, hence the amount of questions is auto generated.

As for our call with Spark E feature, sadly due to the current costs of realtime AI, we have no choice but to bill this back to our customers. As realtime AI gets cheaper, we will be lowering these costs, eventually making it free.

Sorry to hear that your experience on our platform hasn't been what you'd hoped. If you wish to talk about it, feel free to reach out to duncan@studyfetch.com!

College Student Review

I'm a college student using Study Fetch and I love it. It's great for revision and summery. Fun way to educate when having something answering random questions that come to your mind.
