I am a returning HGV driver and passed my HGV test in 1984, I stopped driving HGVs in 2007. I needed to be brought up to speed quickly and to a standard that would enable me to pass an assessment.
I was given 1-to-1 support to the level which saw me pass a Royal Mail assessment, which I found to be so much harder and longer than an HGV test

Brilliant. Kind and very knowledgeable team who got me through my HGV C+E first time. Miranda and Sue were both excellent and can’t recommend highly enough.
This woman told me that I would be receiving a 6 hour hgv lesson for £450, she then preceded to make me drive my own car around town for hours, this is not what I paid for and I highly recommend that anyone considering using this company will think twice before making the same mistake I did, she was also extremely rude and critical of my driving in my car, I have since trained with other hgv companies and have been told that she is renowned for this behaviour.

Currently training with Sue and Simon, could not recommend enough! Fantastic quality of training and as a young female I have never felt intimidated by shouting or swearing. Could not be enjoying my training experience more!
Not sure where Harry Cheesly got his comments from !
He is obviously a key board warrior !
I would advise everyone to ignore these false accusations

Sue’s driving school was absolutely amazing! Firstly, sue taught me to drive in a car and become a competent driver. Not only that but sue and her team gave me so much confidence as a young 19 year old girl taking my category C + E test. I enjoyed every minute of it and passed first time! I can not recommend sue and her team enough to anyone looking to take any sort of driving test.

This unscrupulous lady and her husband took £450 of my money as a naive 21 year old a few years ago, she took this large sum of cash from me and gave me what I believed was supposed to be a HGV lesson in a HGV vehicle in my own CAR, she took me out for 4 hours in my Audi and constantly criticised my driving ability, severely knocking my confidence at the time claiming it was a ‘miracle that I had never had a crash’, 8 years of driving and I still haven’t. I was allowed a quick 5 minute drive in a HGV vehicle at the end and she made it abundantly clear that she did not believe HGV driving was for me, this was the last I ever saw of her, she had already taken my £450 and made no offer or attempt to reimburse any of it even though she had basically given me a 4 hour driving lesson in my own car using my own fuel. I am belatedly putting this review now as I have recently heard some stories of her doing this to other young people, this CANNOT be allowed to continue and I do believe she and her husband have had dealings with trading standards in the past regarding incidents similar to mine, I only regret that I didn’t take it further at the time but hopefully I can stop another young person being conned out of their hard earned money like I was.
RESPONSE - Well, better late than never as they say, it was just over 6 years ago actually but it makes no difference wether this happened in 2017 or last week, the fact is it happened, and from what I’ve been hearing around Swindon and from what I’ve read on here I am far from the only one to fall victim and be deceived and swindled by you. Your words were ‘We’re just going to go for a quick drive in your car to make sure you’re safe to drive the lorry’ a quick drive is not 4 hours and it’s funny how you only threw this at me at the last second as soon as you put the cash in your pocket, you knew exactly what you were doing, If you really felt that my driving was of that bad of a standard (probably due to the fact that you made me a nervous wreck by constantly belittling and swearing at me) that you deemed me incapable or unsafe to have a lesson in a HGV vehicle then you should not of kept the £450 that I gave you under the premise that I was paying for a 6 hour lesson in a HGV vehicle, (I also singed a contract when I first met you stating that this is what I was paying for so you’ve also gone against that), I did NOT pay you £450 for you to ‘asses’ my driving in my car for 4 hours, this is completely unprofessional and I’d be amazed if there’s another HGV training company in the country that adopts the practise of making people drive around in their car to make sure they’re safe to drive, obviously a driving licence is sufficient evidence of that. The fact is you had the money and you couldn’t bring yourself to do the honourable and right thing and reimburse even a penny of it back when you realised that I would not be ‘safe’ to drive the lorry and you would not be able to provide me with the service that I paid you for, this clearly isn’t an isolated incident as you have a reputation and have done it others, it is testament to your true character and shows the type of person that you really are, this also coincides perfectly with what I’ve heard around town that underneath the fake facade you are not a very nice person and are simply a money grabber out for every last penny you can get from people, I completely understand that you’re a business not a charity and I fully expected to pay you for your time, even £100 at the time for the 4 hours would of been too much, taking into consideration that I was using my own car/fuel/insurance, however it should never of even came to 4 hours because if my driving was so ‘bad’ as you put it, then you should of just made me drive back after half an hour and left it at that, but £450 to watch me drive around in my car for 4 hours is absolutely ludicrous, you knew at the time that I was young and naive and you took full advantage of that and preyed on it, I would say that you should feel ashamed but that’s clearly never going to happen so I will leave it there, I just hope this makes you think twice before you try and do the same thing to somebody else.

Thank you, Simon and Sue, for your diligent teaching; for enlightening me in every detail and providing notes. Although my English is not strong as I come from Asia, and I failed the road test twice, feeling quite discouraged, it was very astonishing and gratifying that I managed to pass it on my first attempt with your help . If any of my friends encounter similar situation, I will not hesitate to recommend to you. Thank you! Ken

I hadn't driven anything over 7.5t before starting my training with Sue. A couple of days in a rigid and on to the Articulated lorry. Sue, Simon and Miranda were always very patient with me and got me to test standard far quicker than I expected. I let myself down on a couple of occasions and almost gave up. I was encouraged to try again and finally passed my C+E on the 3rd attempt.
The 1 to 1 training was invaluable in my case as I think sharing the learning would have worked against me.
I would recommend Sue's Driving School to anyone who wants to learn the skills required to drive an HGV rather than pass a test.
Thanks to you all for your help and support. Chris

C+E licence achieved thanks to Miranda and Sue. One to one training is so important and the calm way it is delivered is fantastic. Although I’ve been driving class 2 for over 20 years, the step up to class 1 was quite daunting. Having the trainers undivided attention is great and it builds confidence. Actually mastered the magic roundabout and passed with only 1 driving fault.
I thoroughly recommend Sue’s driving school. They got me to where I want to be. Thanks again
Having passed my test 8 years ago I needed to perform a refresher course and a few hours reversing practice in an artic. Sue was extremely helpful and fitted me in at short notice. On both occasions I felt the tuition and time spent with Sue’s Driving School invaluable. It has boosted my confidence and skills and I have landed a dream job. I would highly recommend Sue’s Driving School, thankyou very much.
I highly recommend Sue , I passed many years ago, & directed at least 10 of my friends since, 11/10 all passed.

The instructors are highly experienced and caring, and their teaching method is both interesting and effective. I received professional training, a friendly and stress-free atmosphere, and ultimately passed my C+E LGV driving exam.
Additionally, the school has modern and safe vehicles, which adds an extra element of safety and confidence while learning to drive. Overall, I am very satisfied with my experience at Sue's Driving School and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to learn how to drive.
