Surface Business Media 

I was contacted by this company by cold call after advertising on yell.com and thought would give them a chance. I signed up to them. They said they would advertise on google for me on the first page. I paid them and when I searched I could not find my ad. After lots of searching and chasing I found my ad at the bottom of a page once. I tried to call them and emailed them but never got any response for two weeks.

After continuous trying I gave up. Now 2 years later they email me with a bill of £437 threatening to take legal action. They have my email but never contacted me.

I am curious how many people are out there that are unaware like me and being charged per month for a service they are not receiving. Shocked as under financial stress during these lockdown times.

Total scam avoid at all costs! Take money without consent and provide no service! Staff are no help took over £2000 now! Please boycot don’t be caught out definitely taking this further!

Took out one month with these guys, promised a website etc, the whole time it was live I couldn't see it, cancelled the agreement, they then tried to take 180 a year after without any contact from me, luckily my bank queried it and I was able to stop it

Avoid at all costs - continued to take 6 further payments without our consent (stealing) after closing our account with them. Took months to receive a refund, never sent over a physical contract despite asking on several occasions and didn't receive a single invoice or credit receipt. Slow and unresponsive to emails and staff are completely unprofessional and rude. Despite all of this they never gave anything even remotely resembling an apology. Definitely a scam company and they need to be closed down.

Please all small businesses be careful, the company I work for recently got scammed of this company. They will take your money and not provide the service and then when you realise you have been scammed; they will block your email address from sending them any emails and also block your number!!

During this difficult time where all hard working genuine businesses have been affected by COVID and seen losses, you still have SCAM companies operating!!!

The staff there also all have fake names, and all communicate with you through one Facebook profile ‘Samantha Ellen’, the other fake names they go by are Zara and Rochelle Parry.

Really bad company, very poor service, zero results. Don't sign up - don't waste your time and money.

Completely useless company, utterly unresponsive to every request for information and email, phone call I ever made. The sales guy is really good at offering you the world and after that it is all downhill from there. Took them 3 weeks to set up the advert and they still charged me for the 3 weeks it wasn't running. Avoid this company like the plague.

Just had a call saying you had my details from Facebook.com that i'm doing my advertising wrong...
when i ask have you been given my details from Facebook the lady then said no. really.... scam do not trust. say they can run a advert for my page when they only have around 250 likes on theirs. i wouldn't give you a penny.

I too believe this is not a legit company. I was cold called and trusted this company and without even thinking entered my card details on a website they gave me over the phone. I would never normally do this but they sounded very convincing. I've asked for a refund 2 days later and have now been advised it will not be paid back in full. I paid £144. I have advised them if I do not get a full refund i will be taking this further with legal action.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Simple, they take money from your account without providing any service. We have never had a live ad and they have taken over £600 from our account. After contacting the company and asking for any agreement to be cancelled and all monies refunded, we still continue to have money taken.

DO NOT READ POSITIVE REVIEWS.... After a little bit of digging, it is clear that all the positive reviews are from employees/family of employees.

If you use this company, you will have money taken with no services returned.

They make a renegotiated contract for a lower value but continue to charge the initial amount.
I stopped paying when I saw that there was no return, zero! The account manager simply disappeared and did not respond to emails! They only send emails with an exorbitant amount to pay FOR NOTHING! I lost my money and regretted it so much for believing in them!

Do not engage! They are a fraud !!!

These people did long lasting damage to my business. Seriously do not engage with these people - even if THEY paid YOU!

My bank recovered my funds from their bank. Thankfully I had my money back.

It is a fraudulent company that charges you for nothing. We paid for an add for one month in the internet. We paid in advance for an add that did never existed. About the time it was supposed to be online on google and it wasn't. We started to e-mail them asking what happened. They started to say that they had an IT problem, but it would be online soon. It never happened. After lots of e-mails sent to them, they said that because of the delay of the add, it would be online for longer. It never happened. This week they called asking if we wanted to pay for another month. To pay again??? for nothing??? That company should be closed!!

I own a carpet cleaning company in Aberdeen and it is going from strength to strength. My account manager was Rochelle and then it changed to Amy. I'll be honest their work as a company is very very good. I now have more customers and I don't have to worry about advertising because it is all done for me. I would recommend to anyone to give it a go. It does take time but it is worth the investment. It certainly did work for me. It is still working for me. I will be with them for many more years to come.

I would like to say thank you for the work that you have carried out for me and my husband. Our business is a small family business and we do not have big amounts of money to invest in advertising. When you first contacted me I thought it will not work. But now after almost one year I am still on the first page. I had a few bad reviews but you advised me on how to.deal with them because reviews like this can have a bad effect on business and we are nothing like what is said. We want to give customers the best food from our takeaway. Thank you for helping. There have been times when we have not been able to pay but you have waited for when it is okay. This is so good. Thank you for being patient and doing what you said you will and more.

I don't really leave reviews as I don't know much about these kinds of things when I signed up I was very sceptical but being with this company for almost a year they have kept me on the first position for my carpet cleaning business the whole while. They explained to me how everything worked and the benefits and I can safely say that I have had a lot of business as a result. My small family run business has gone from strength to strength and I feel you have had a great part to play in this. Thank you once again.

Thank you for helping me get to first page on Maps for Google. It didn't take very long and I know I came off the first page because of problems with my website. When I told you about this in one week you put me on first page again. You are very helpful thank you

As a new business when they called with their services I decided to give it a go. Worst decision ever. Not only did they take my money and deliver nothing that they promised, they still continued to take money after it was cancelled as per their requirements in the t&c's (still trying to get my money back). They don't answer calls or emails. I certainly would NOT recommend this company.

No contact has been made. No responses to any emails. I have checked all email accounts including junk folders and checked with my phone company in case there was a problem with my phone but that is not the case. Still there is no responses to any emails and the numbers I have been given have never been answered. You cannot automatically role over a service that has been cancelled as per your t&cs within the correct timescales several times. Even if you were trying to contact me, do you not think it is odd that I was and still am constantly emailing you?

I received a call from SBM about putting me on page one of google through adwords. I was very sceptical at first but because i was advertising on gumtree and spending £35 for 7 days - so i thought why not give it a go for a month. My account manager was Amy Sheperd who was very welcoming and assuring. There were times my call wasnt answered so i emailed them. I did find that when emailing i did get a call back within 24 hours. Whatever the issue was it was resolved straight away. It has helped me generate business and get my business out there. The best part about the campaign is they spend £100 advertising on google for the first 30 days and then all they charge is a management fee of £29 and i get to decide what i want to spend. So now im only spending £59 on the actual advertising and then just the management fee to surface business media. I am writing this review after 6 months as i have built a strong relationship with my account manager and the company and i will always be happy to recommend.

I have never had the inclination too write a review about any one or company before but I feel I should warn others about Surface Buisness Media they appear too be a big organised Company but are a complete Nightmare.Not sure if it's intentional or incompetence but I know for sure a ,complete and utter Waste off precious time and money . Avoid if you value your time and money .
