This organisation claims to be a charity, claiming charity status while all it is is a lobying group it should be investigated by the charity commission and banned from preaching their views to our children
Awful
Awful company. Complete disregard for opinions that differ to theirs (and the people paying them huge amounts of cash) . They are pushing an agenda in return for huge sums of money. Biased and not fit for purpose. Charity status needs looking into 👀
If I could give zero I would
If I could give zero I would. Doing nothing for the population of Wales except pushing the agenda of its dictator. Wales is not the place for this public transport and cycling not an option for many and simply not fit for purpose
If I could give zero stars I would
If I could give zero stars I would. They have played their part in costing Welsh taxpayers £33m which doesn't include the yearly losses to the economy caused by the 20mph speed limits.
They should hang their heads in shame!
This company is a obvious political…
This company is a obvious political organisation that wants to Push it's agenda onto the people of Wales through the back door, one of the ex leaders is now part of the Welsh assembly working against the people of Wales , using false data to push it's distopian veiws , these are the people behind all the stupid net zero projects that the labour party are forcing on us it mus stop 🛑
THIS IS WRONG ON ALL LEVELS
This company has blinkered view about transport, you are actively taking huge sums of money in grants from the Welsh government to promote more people to us cycling and walking this is ok for younger people. You are actively trying to get people out of their cars while cycling is is an admiral aim, there are people who are unable walk far and unable to ride bikes ie disabled pensioners. Also the weather in Wales is not conducive to this aim, please stop being so bellicose and let's all live in harmony. Then there is the climate change issue Lee Waters has stated that it is only fair that we as a country make reparations for our part in climate change when emissions from Wales are approx 1.5% so why are we giving nearly two thirds of our annual budget towards this when our NHS are in dire straits people waiting years for operations, ambulance waiting times are horrendous please stop, put this into context you are building cycling lanes everywhere and the cyclist's are ignoring them
A 'charity' with close links to…Welsh government
A 'charity' with close links to government particularly in wales where its ex chief exec is now deputy climate minister and calling the shots in making motorists lives a misery. Nice to see he's also shovelling loadsa taxpayers money to his old charity whilst also claiming 12000 miles in motoring expenses in the last year despite constantly parading his eco credentials. This whole eco racket is rotten to the core and needs exposing. Thanks to this ludicrous 20mph in Wales things are getting exposed and people are wising up to sustrans and the impact they're having on quality of life.
Dubious!
Some profound reservations on their operational platform and publisher of some dubious data. Treat significant parts of their propaganda with extreme caution, which has to be considered in the context of their income/revenue streams.
Absolutely ruined Wales with their…
Absolutely ruined Wales with their garbage 20mph limits! Massive Joke! Do Wales a favour and leave!
Premature
My recent discovery of Sustrans’ role as a third-party influencer in Wales’ new 20mph driving regulation has left me with mixed feelings. As a supporter of sustainable and safe transport, I understand the intent behind such policies. However, I believe Sustrans’ approach in this case was premature.
The 20mph regulation, though well-meaning in its effort to make streets safer and promote cycling and walking, seems to have been implemented without adequate consideration of the current state of public transport. Sustrans’ push for this regulation, as part of their sustainable transport advocacy, overlooks a critical aspect of sustainable travel - the logistics and efficiency of public transportation systems.
From my perspective, a comprehensive and effective approach to sustainable transport should not only encourage walking and cycling but should also prioritize enhancing public transport. This means making it more accessible, reliable, and convenient for the wider public. Without these improvements in public transport, the 20mph limit feels like a solution that’s not fully thought through, potentially causing inconvenience without offering viable alternatives for those dependent on vehicular travel.
In conclusion, while I acknowledge Sustrans’ commitment to a greener and safer transport environment, I am concerned that their focus might be too narrow. For a truly impactful change, it was essential to balance the promotion of cycling and walking with significant upgrades in public transport infrastructure and services before implementing the 20mph.
Corrupt organisation taking handouts…
Corrupt organisation taking handouts from the Welsh government and pushing their agenda on the people
Scum!
SUSTRANS is a misnomer - it is NOT sustainable
Whilst I am in favour of the promotion of walking, wheeling and cycling I am most certainly NOT in agreement to achieving this at the expense of other modes of movement. Sustrans is taking money from the government which would be MUCH better spent funding more teachers, classroom assistants, books, computers AND school refurbishment [as several examples]. It is utter madness to not use the money for more beneficial ends.
Complete joke
Complete joke , they claim to be a charity but are in fact a QUANGO organisation, 100% government funded . Close
Down Sustrans and give the money you give them to real worthwhile causes such as RNLI , that does actually save lives . How can the top people’s salary be justified . Look what lunatics run it , Lee Waters did , says it all .
Futile Policies. You state the Welsh Government should…
You state the Welsh Government should be held responsible to you but they class themselves as not responsible to the Welsh people who are the very ones you are both responsible to. Your universal 20 mph limit is ludicrous and a universal pavement parking ban will impact those who park responsibly on pavements leaving plenty of room for pavement users and more room for cyclists. Every child should have a bicycle you say, really, every child? Many would prefer food, clothing and heating and a decent place to live. You lot are living in cloud cuckoo land.
Unelected with too much influence
Sustrans are in league with an out of touch Cymru government. No way can people in rural North Wales cycle or walk to get to essential services. Public transport in most cases is poor or non existent. Sustrans manifesto is a joke and these unelected people are having too much influence on our government. I'd give a 0 review if I could.
Not fit for service.
A not fit for service, service. Completely detached from reality and the needs of our communities. Pushing their unwanted agenda down the throats of ordinary people. Should be disbanded immediately.
20mph Lee Waters involvement
Lee Waters involvement with this company and his complete lack of involving the people of wales to push their 20mph and anti car agenda is despicable.
Would like to know who benefits from the suffering of the people of wales and making their roads more dangerous for everyone.
I feel sorry for the familes of the people that pushed this onto the people of wales as they will always be hated for this.
Causing absolute mayhem for the…
Causing absolute mayhem for the majority travelling in bias favour of a minority group that doesn't see the need to take there own personal safety seriously ,so make sustran policy more dangerous overall
Sustrans
The involvent of Sustrans with the Welsh Government has become a very unhealthy relationship in Wales, the flow of money from the Welsh Government is to the detrement to Wales. The ideologies of sustrans being supported by the poor grade politicians we have in Wales has left the Welsh roads and public transport in desperation.
