i purchased some $500 of BTC just to compare vs Gemini which I also use ... Gemini quoted me ~$1000 higher and the fees were 50% higher than Swan's as well. thus i was able to purchase ~1% more BTC using Swan

I am glad we finally got it resolved…
I am glad we finally got it resolved however I was locked out of my account, my auto-investing was turned off and it took over a week to get my bank account and Swan talking to each other again. I set up auto investing in 2024 and last November it was somehow turned off. I tried setting it up again 12 days ago and it was just now available and working again. Thanks Derek and the support team, but wow. I am looking at other options in the future.

Buyer beware!
Buyer beware!! I attempted to create an account, ran into difficulty on the verification process, never funded the account or completed the account set-up. I then see a monthly charge from Swan for $20, then saw that they had also charged me the previous month, I send them an email saying the account was never completely set up or even funded, why was I being charged a monthly fee when it was never activated or any
a transfer made into the account. I requested they close the account and have asked them to refund these charges. I also opened a dispute with my bank. What a joke trying to charge a $0 incomplete account monthly fees!

Swan IRA accounts do include a monthly administrative fee starting the first full month after opening, regardless of funding status, as disclosed during setup. That said, we’ve requested more information so we can locate your account, ensure it’s fully closed, and review the charges.

Lack of service
Locked out over one small transaction, not helpful. If you reply I’m sure you would allow others on and how do you know they won’t actually bounce and become a worse customer and have more money? When I’m making an effort to relink?? You wanna reply that I’m not a responsible person? Cuz ur UI is not as good as the competitors and you blow off your customers that’s bad service and I have active accounts still everywhere else. You don’t know who or what a good customer even is subjectively, a subjective action, over one such small amount after onboarding.
Fix such low hanging fruit with more effort to exceed the 4.3 stars please. Wouldn’t allow a relink, use another exchange, most are all better and seamless with better and more modern interfaces, it’s feeling outdated like it’s not keeping up with common features like clunky withdrawals too.

To clarify, the unexpected fee you were referring to was not something Swan agreed with or initiated. It was imposed by Fortress Trust, the former custodian. We fully understood how upsetting that was, which is why we took immediate action on our end.
To help make it right, Swan provided impacted clients with six months of fee-free purchase credits, worth twice the amount of the fee.
Those credits remained active through June 30, 2025, after which all accounts returned to our standard fee structure.

Swan is the most customer centric I…
Swan is the most customer centric I have found in the marketplace. They legitimately care about the customer service they give. My rep Jason Bassett is 5 star all the way. Most bitcoin platforms you may never get to speak to someone for help, Jason calls or emails me back with 24 hours if not sooner and always takes the time to guide me in the right direction. I tell all my friends about Swan and will use them forever as long as they don't change their approach. Highly recommend calling Jason today if your curious about generating wealth through Bitcoin.

Top Notch Service!
I chose Swan because they are a Bitcoin only company, I have used them several times over the past year to convert USD into BTC. Jason B. was my account executive and he has gone over and above every time I had a question or concern. The process of obtaining BTC should very simple, and it is through Swan. My overall experience with Swan Bitcoin
My overall experience with Swan Bitcoin has been mixed but in the end quite positive. Opening a Swan account and activating my bank account was difficult for a variety of reasons but it also gave me the opportunity to see how seriously and carefully you manage operations. After getting past these first steps, things have gone smoothly with the transactions I've initiated. The app is easy to navigate and truly user-friendly.

Easy buys. Wide spreads.
Swan makes buying and holding Bitcoin easy, and selling it difficult... just as it should be for most of us. Somewhat surprised by the wide spreads compared to purchases made on exchanges. (What the... ?) Shout out to, Ian, who was spot on during the onboarding process. Faster than expected. Next I set up gift accounts for my kids.

Regarding your note about spreads, you’re absolutely right to observe some variance compared to exchanges, and we appreciate the opportunity to provide a bit of clarity.
The price chart you see reflects the mid-market price of Bitcoin, essentially the midpoint between current buy and sell prices across the broader market. However, the price quoted when you place a buy or sell order may deviate slightly from that mid-market rate.
The spread isn’t static, but it typically hovers around 0.5% of the mid-market price. Importantly, Swan doesn’t add any spread markup what you see is what we get from our liquidity provider, and we simply pass that price along to you.
We’re committed to transparency:
No inactivity fees
We cover the BTC network fee so client's can withdraw to self custody
No hidden spread charges
No fees for fiat withdrawals
If you compare our trade confirmations with those of other services, you’ll find this practice is quite standard across the industry though we work hard to keep it as minimal and fair as possible.

It shouldn’t take 2-3 days for a “buy” to go through. It should be instantaneous like other platforms. Why does it take so long?

For personal Swan accounts, ACH purchases are typically processed near-instantly on our end. While ACH transfers do take 2–3 business days to settle behind the scenes, the Bitcoin buy should show right away on the Swan app so you don’t have to wait.
That said, if you're using a Swan IRA, those deposits are processed a bit differently. Our IRA custodian only accepts funds during regular banking hours on business days, so there can be a slight delay — especially around weekends or holidays.
We know waiting isn’t fun, and we’re always working to make the experience smoother wherever possible.
