Thank you for your feedback. Can I ask, how you thought our service was bad? I can see you had an MOT (Class 7) with us for £49.99. The DVSA cost for this is (as cut and pasted from DVSA website):

Goods vehicles (over 3,000kg up to 3,500kg design gross weight) = £58.60

I also see your vehicle failed the MOT which we sent you an estimate for the repairs which included a price promise guarantee (this is why I cannot see how we have inflated costs).

MOT poor experience - avoid

Avoid. I am not going to put a 1 star just because they answered the phone when I called them to figure out when I was going to get the car back.

Answer: I am giving two stars for lack of communication and explanation when I picked up the car. I accept that my car failed snd there were issues you fixed, nevertheless nobody ever explained to me why I ended up paying 240 £, or telling me how long it would take to fix these issues and get the car back.

Thank you for your feedback however not sure what your issue is.. You dropped your vehicle off for an MOT on the 29th. It failed on nearside lower ball joint dust cover and a problem with the ESP light on. We fixed the issues for you, then retested the vehicle and washed it. You picked the vehicle up the next day at 17:30. Didn't say you were unhappy or anything? Are you giving us 2* rating because your vehicle failed the MOT?

*Additional edit* I'm afraid you must be mistaken. You knew exactly how much your bill would be. This is because we have a video system in place. Here is the additional video we sent you to let you know that your arm would need to be replaced.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GCerrL54v3A

Your vehicle failed the MOT on the first day with us and was ready for collection the next day (as advised on our recorded calls system- I have listened to all calls between you and my staff and they told you countless times the car would be ready the next day).

Regards

Never use again refusing to give a full…

Never use again refusing to give a full refund on a job that I had to get done at another garage . Which I had paid for this place to do only option is to contact the small claims and citizens advice

Hi Debra, lets get the story completely correct. Your vehicle came to us with an airbag light on. We spent a few hours looking over the vehicle and checked the wiring under the seat. We could not find the broken wire so just charged 1 hours investigation. When you went to the main dealer they found a broken wire. You came back to us and complained so as a gesture of goodwill we refunded you 50% of your bill. This was £36.00 but you are obviously not happy with this refund sorry this does not meet with your high level of expectation but unfortunately we are still a business who charge for our time.

Any other garage probably would not have offered the 50% discount on their labour but we hope you find a more amenable garage in future.

For the record, we would welcome any Citizens advice contact or Small Claims as we have provided fantastic customer service and been helpful as possible the whole way through.

Good work, took longer than it should have

Work done was very good, however took much longer than was initially suggested. Very little communication was given to suggest delays in work, I had to ring up several times to find out what stage or the repairs my car was in. Otherwise customer service was very good, staff were friendly and never got annoyed no matter how many times I called to check my progress

Superb Professional Service

Fantastic service! My call was dealt with in an efficient and friendly manner, Chloe was very knowledgeable and made me feel at ease. The work itself was completed very quickly and to a high standard. They even went the extra mile; videoing extra problems they found, to make sure I understood what was wrong and how they would fix it. Plus they gave me a lift to my place of work (granted it was only a 10min drive), after I dropped my car off in the morning, and delivered my keys to me at work when I had to work late!

In fact, my only complaint is that I was sent an email afterwards offering to add me into a prize draw if I gave them a 5* rating. This was not necessary, and kinda makes my 5* review feel a bit tacky, hence why I'm mentioning it.

Kia Picanto Clutch and Mot.

Not too good service. Car is running lovely.
A little hiccup with timings now an issue.
After a few months have found out that there are a few hicups 2 cross threaded wheel nuts. Throttle housing rattling due to bolts cross threaded into cylinder head. Before anyone says I could have done it No. I haven't touched my car mechanically since you have had it.

Paid £72 and a day for nothing

Asked Swansea Tyres Limited to do a number of jobs on my vehicle. I waited all day to get my vehicle back. They didn't do any of the jobs, because they could see oil coming out of the top of the engine, but did not contact me to tell me, left me waiting all day with the van just parked up in the car park, and charged me £72 for having seen the oil. They charged me the claimed hourly rate for having observed the oil, which would have taken 10 minutes at the most. So I paid for an hour, as well as an entire day waiting, for 10 minutes work, when in fact I had requested a number of jobs to be done. Knowing that I had asked for other things to be done, they had a clear conscience returning the vehicle to the car park after 10 minutes and then charging me £72 and leaving me waiting for the entire day. They had two options in order to be fair: discard the hour's rate because no work was to be done, or do the other jobs so that the customer received some value for his £72. But they chose to give the customer nothing, and charge him anyway. This is evidence of dishonesty, unfairness, and a disrespectful attitude towards customers. One of them said "we didnt go ahead with the other jobs because it would not be economically viable", but if he knew that I was about to be charged £72, his conscience should have moved him to give me at least some value for my money. Otherwise, do not charge me the £72. Very unfair and bad.

Mr Jones,

Thank you for your review. Im afraid that this is completely inaccurate and I would like to point out how and why. Firstly, your vehicle was booked in for smoking and to investigate if it was something that the previous mechanic had done when he bled your fuel system when you ran out of fuel.

Additionally you wanted us to MOT test your vehicle (a 23 year old LDV minibus which is in considerably bad condition) as well as adjust the front bumper as it had broken clips on it.

THE WORK THAT WE PROVIDED

1. Investigate Smoking - (Suspected Piston Rings)

Film Vehicle For Customers Information (Link to video below)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w7LTR-mimTA

2. Perform Compression Check Using Specialist Equipment (Removing glow plugs and registering compression figures). All cylinders were showing loss of compression.
3. Refit Glow Plugs
4. Remove air box, and check all breather pipes for blockages and report
5. Refit air box and associated breather hoses

The total cost for this work was £60 plus VAT (one hours labour). Your vehicle was actually worked on at our workshop for 1.6 hours. We did not start the MOT as we were trying to save you money on an MOT Test that we knew the vehicle would not pass (and probably not worth the repair bill). We advised you that we were happy to MOT the vehicle but with the amount of visual smoke that the vehicle was producing, it would probably be better to fix the issue first.

Your video was sent to you at 10:30 am (before we started to check compression etc.) You collected your vehicle in the afternoon (after 3 calls by us but no answer). You then explained when you did arrive that you were just round the corner. We showed you the video that had been sent to you. We explained the issues. You decided not to have the MOT test done (on our advice) and when you were asked to pay the 1 hours labour, you asked us what exactly for. We explained (as above) that we had spent over an hour diagnosing and checking our diagnosis and that our company policy is that we charge minimum one hour (as per your signed job sheet) for diagnosis.

I'm afraid we are a business. If you want free jobs carried out on your vehicle, I am afraid we are unable to help. It seems that you are dissapointed that we did not perform extra work for the 1 hours labour you have been charged. Well, we did! As mentioned earlier, we spent over 1 and a half hours but your bill was reduced as a gesture of goodwill and we also saved you the cost of an MOT test on a vehicle that just would not have passed. I consider this to be very fair and very good customer service.

Card machine apparently wasn’t working…

Card machine apparently wasn’t working and received a phone call when I was In work to say that I needed to pay by cash or bank transfer to be able to take my car. Was in work so couldn’t get to a bank before closing time (my bill was over £500) and I didn’t have my bank login details with me. Not acceptable had to insist that receptionist spoke to the manager to get it sorted. Bill was then £100 more than the quote?! Which when I questioned it they knocked it back down. Oh and the card machine worked perfectly....
Not good customer service but the work on the car seems to be ok.

I’m sorry you feel our customer care wasn’t up to scratch. We had been experiencing issues with our card reader today (totally beyond our control) and advised all 22 vehicle owners who were due to collect their cars just in case. Speaking to a manager wouldn’t have made any difference regarding our card machine not working as it was an issue with the merchant.

The other 21 clients were very appreciative of the forewarning about a possible issue with payment by card. If we had just not warned you about a possible issue with card payment and let you come but not be able to take your car that might of been better?

The reason we contacted everyone (with plenty of notice) is because we didn’t want anyone to not be able to collect their car this evening.

There was an issue with your bill which was immediately rectified before you paid any money. This was attributed to your vehicle requiring additional sensors which were fitted free of charge in the end and also a £5 increase in labour which was also deducted.

The one thing we are happy about is the quality of workmanship on the repair to your car.

Was looking for a garage that does Air con regas and found them online. Cannot say how happy I was with the service offered. They went above and beyond especially when they did a health vehicle check as part of the Thier service of which I was not expecting and the found that my engine oil levels were too high and obviously not safe. They sorted that out for me in no time. Will definitely be coming back! I recommend anyone to try them out, you won't be disappointed. They were professional.

Not Nice People

I took my car here for wheel alignment after fitting completely new suspension. I drove it away and into an MOT where they failed it for damaged suspension components. Damaged by one of the engineers at Swansea Tyres. I went back and they just argued with me until I gave up. Not nice people at all.

Dear Mr Kotowicz,

I have looked into your complaint. I note that you brought your 2006 137,000 mile Land Rover Discovery us in September 2017 and we adjusted your alignment using our Hunter 3D Laser alignment. When doing this we adjust your TRACK ROD ENDS as the tracking was out on your vehicle. I also note that you fitted your own suspension parts.

Furthermore, your vehicle failed on the following: Nearside Rear Tie bar/rod ball joint dust cover excessively deteriorated so that it no longer prevents the ingress of dirt (2.4.G.2). This is your TIE BAR and nothing to do with your TRACK ROD so therefore wasn't disturbed during our adjustment.

With respect we did not argue with you, this is not really accurate. I was the person who dealt with your complaint and you were rude and shouting at my staff. I CALMLY explained the process and also explained that this must have been done when you fitted the parts which is an easy thing to do if you are not experienced. Additionally, we offered to fit a new ball joint boot for you at cost which you refused.

I trust you will find an alternative garage to carry out any further repairs to your vehicle.

Timing was an issue

Timing was an issue. Customer was told to expect a call in 45mins - 1hr but even though the MOT test was done after 1.5hrs, customer never received the call. Apart from that Great service and value for money.!
