After ordering and paying for a motor for my truck, they said it would take 10-14 days just to ship it. I found a motor that would be installed in that time and cancelled two days after paying. It too... See more

Horrible
Horrible! We ordered an engine and had it installed. After we paid for labor we found out that the engine had water in it. Told SW Engines we wanted our money back and not another engine. The sent another engine anyway. We decided to roll the dice and pay for more labor and istallation. Same thing happened! We were told if we return the engines we will receie our money back for the cost of the engine. The engines were sent back and now we cant get in touch with ANYONE! Does anyoneknow how to contact the corporate office? I am now out oer 4K and still don't hae my son's car fixed.

Another sh#@ review as I to bought a motor for a 2002 BMX X5 4.6 they sold me one they said had 65000 miles on it and has been gone threw. Had it installed and 2 months later no motor. Only paid part of warranty claim and now still have issues. Shop said they lied about miles and the engine was put back together with mix matched parts and sold to me. Still trying to get ahold of warranty people to help with this. LOOKS LIKE A LAW SUIT HERE!

Possibly the rudest experience I've ever had with a company. Was getting ready to order and they actually hung up on me. Thought it was a mistake, called back, got another salesperson almost as rude. Thank goodness they did this because it made me do a little more research on all the bad reviews. Sounds like this is their norm plus they don't deliver the engines they promise. Thanks for alerting me of how you do business SW Engines before I sent you $$$'s!!!!
SWEngines will screw you over
The 223,000 mile blown motor, that my son over heated twice was in better shape than the 80,000 motor from these jokers web site, that took one month to get. Kept getting emails saying they was going over and checking the motor to make sure it checked out (as if they haven't found a motor and trying to buy time). As long as it took to get the motor and the way the motor looked (spark plugs looked like the motor ran hot too a few times (yes they looked the same as the plugs we pulled out of my sons motor), Obviously the junk yard they found the motor in should have pulled in a generous profit at $1430. My 16 year old son worked two jobs to pay for and install engine. Once install was completed, imagine my surprise when we started the truck and the motor was knocking. Called supplier, talked to Scott, and told him about this joyous occasion. He replied, take it to a shop to have them diagnose the knock and email him the results. After said engine shop told us the knock was defiantly a knock, I asked about the warranty, which my understanding was, any issues with motor would be corrected at no cost to me, the same as a warranty on anything else you buy that has a warranty. Scott assured me they would take care of it, which now I know that I am too trusting of an individual and you just simply can't take someone at their word these days. I had the shop install yet another motor and was sent a bill for 1260.00 to replace the 1430.00 knocking motor that was sent to me originally. I emailed Scott the bill and SWEngines only paid 580.00 and stiffed my son with the rest of the money. I called Scott upset and explained to him "You sold a blown motor? W T F? Was the knock extra? Then, due to there being 1400 miles between us, fear, and some common sense he says "You don't cuss me, I will end this call" and so he did, even though I never cussed at him. I didn't bother calling back because lets be honest, obviously they knew what they were doing when I was sold a motor that looked like it came straight out of the junkyard. Do business with these characters at your own risk but I cant be the only one that took the raw dong from these jack asses.
Awesome service awesome engine!
SWengines worked with me on finding a 6.2 ls3 for a 5.3 ltr swap . They worked me a great deal and did everything they promised . The engines is in and running fantastic ! I will refer all my friends a connections their way . Best birthday present in years !
My name is Lyle Bakke
My name is Lyle Bakke, and recently, my engine in my 97 Ford Ranger threw a rod on the way to work and then seized up. In a panic, I searched the Internet for another motor. I came across SWEngines with a five year parts and labor warranty! Great action!
So, I ordered the motor and before you know it I was on the road again. Or, so I thought. Well, a few months later, this new motor did the same thing only I was able to limp it to the shop before the motor froze up like the last one.
The shop sent in the diagnostic report and we did not here from the warranty department for like a week or more, and I started worrying about whether I had done the warranty activation correctly. I am going to tell you that I was not working and no start date in sight. I could not eat, sleep, or do my homework for my master's degree. I was stuck and scared to death.
Well, praise be to God, I looked at my email, and low and behold there was an email saying that my new motor has been shipped and should arrive in 3-5 days! These guys, praise be to God, really came through and saved my behind. I would like to introduce you all to my new home for all my automotive needs! I cannot explain with words my gratitude to God for such a wonderful and helpful warranty department supervisor, Scott. Thank you Scott!
Sincerely grateful in Portland Oregon,
Lyle R. Bakke

These people are the worst ever
These people are the worst ever. Read all the reviews carefully and make note that everything is mentioned in every review. I am calling the BBB because what they are doing is crap. They quote you low mileage items and send u whatever crap they have in stock. Scott is supposed to be the manager and he has no people skills at all. Don't bother calling about a refund or warranty because you will keep getting the run around. I was quoted a transmission that was low mileage they sent me a transmission from a car with over 200K miles. One of there minions at the shop left the VIN number on the part I bought and I ran it through local auction website which came up with the donor vehicle. 2nd part looked worst than first part and didn't even work. Now you want to hold my money hostage. BE AWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!!!
This company is a fraud
This company is a fraud. Their website is full of lies. Got the engine I ordered quick, it has only been in the vehicle a day and all the bearings are bad. Now they will only replace with another piece of junk and not pay for the labor. Just like others I am trying to get to the corporate office but end up with Scott who is very rude. I have a friend who is a special agent that lives in Tulsa Ok that is going by the office to try to get some answers.
They'll sell you an engine but won't …
They'll sell you an engine but won't acknowledge the warranty. I was guided thru on activating the warranty and now that I need to use it now their saying I had to activate it again at the time installed. How can you activate something twice when there the ones guiding me through the process. The next post is going on all FB,Twitter, and all I can find to put SWENGINES on blast I gave a good review when I got my engine, but once they got their good review for business they turn around and treat customers like suckers.
Get your money and Run
Easy to get the engine. Hard to get help about problems with the engine. Have been getting the run around for almost a month. The customer service for problems is rude. They cut you off in mid sentence and send you to "Scott", who never answers the phone. When I finally got another person who was not rude, Roger, he gave me an extension to talk to him. They still send me to the "Scott" answering machine, even when I give the extension or ask for Roger. Tried to asked for corporate office today. They send me to Scott, who does not answer. Just wanted to know about a claim, submitted because my freeze plugs were leaking, they painted over rust and the bolt holes were stripped and who knows what else.
These people are thieves
These people are thieves. I paid for an engine and when it got to the shop it would not start. The shop tested the engine and said that each cylinder only had 25 psi. I contact the warranty department (Scott Green) and h\after repeated calls and emails he said that a replacement engine had been sent. After 14 days SWEngine has not sent me a tracking number and the engine has not arrived at the shop where I had it sent. Today when I call All I got was voice mails again, so I do not believe that I will ever hear from them again until I engage a lawyer.
Scammmmm
Bought a engine never came SCAMM DONT DO IT ..wont even give back money ...better off going around inperson looking for engines yourself
Dont do it
Dont do it! U won't b able to get ahold of anyone if there is an issue. Warranty dept. Is the worst. If they send u bad engine. They will send another but u have to pay ALL installation and removal fees. They do not guaranty anything that they claim. Very difficult to activate warrenty. Also u can't activate warranty until vechile is done and drivable. Which if u have received a bad engine is not possible. Horrible bussiness. I will never deal with them again.
porsce boxster s
porsce boxster s. after they sent me an engine with 80k. turned out it was cracked. we could not see the crack until it was installed and the fluids filled. cost me over 3000 to install . after a run around on it having a crack, and sending pictures and a statement from my certified mechanic, they sent another engine, with no idea of its miles . spent another 3300 installing and removing and shipping of the old engine, to find out they are only paying 490 bucks for the removal and install of the second engine.
still have fedex sending my mechanic bills for the delivery of the 1st engine.. 2 months and i still dont have my car back.and i am out 3000 between the second install and the fedex bill.. funny how all there swe reviews are good ones. on there site and fb page.
Ordered a volvo engine for my older …
Ordered a volvo engine for my older brother's car. Gave them all the required informaton. The engine arrived a little later but did not have the turbo required to install and operate. The invoice seems to clearly indicate that the turbo was included. (why buy an engine that cannot work!) After contacting Scott in customer service I was treated with the most rude and disrespectul treatment I have received in my 70 years. (This after spending almost $1,900 with this company. If you are not a certified mechanic, DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!! And if you do, I pray you never have to deal with customer service, because there is no service!
I ordered an engine for a 2004 Nissan …
I ordered an engine for a 2004 Nissan XTerra on August 4 2017. Did not receive it until August 24 after I called to complain and cancel my order. Lo and behold shipped the next day. My mechanic emailed pics to me. NOT steamcleaned or anything promised. Installed according to their guidelines so warranty was not void and guess what. Failed emissions, check engine light on and Carfax shows no mileage. Supposed to be 74k. Nevertheless, and thankfully, I had already filed a stop payment with my credit card company. Good luck getting anybody to answer your calls. Wish I had read reviews prior to ordering. WYF is wrong with people ripping hard working people off?
Knew nothing about SWEngines
Knew nothing about SWEngines. Was looking for engine for granddaughter's Eclipse. Found one at SWEngines site. I ordered an engine & paid for it ($1190.00). After a week I called to inquire when the engine would be shipped, had to leave msg., no response. I called several more times, no response. After 3 + weeks, I cancelled the order. They charged a 25% fee to cancel the order. The credit card company, CITIBANK, let them get by with this.
In my opinion, SWEngines appears to be a "Continuing Criminal Enterprise". Any ideas how to get the "Feds" involved?
Don't do it. Put your money away.
These horrible excuses for human beings need to be sued and their company needs to go under. Other than the other million of these reviews you will see that our story is no different. It's bad enough having an engine blow in a truck, and you try and find the best possible deal out there. Well too good to be true. They sold us another blown engine, and this appears to be their way of doing business as a bunch of scam artists. Save yourself time, money and peace of mind and do your research prior to purchasing with anyone. Their 5 year warranty is a joke, and their customer service is even worse as you cannot get ahold of anyone.
