Refused to take back unused medicine
I am executor for my late uncle, a long‑standing customer at the Pharmacy below, all the years they’ve been open.
They refused to accept his controlled medicines and other prescriptions, saying they would only take ones they supplied, and I would have to take medicines back to each chemist that supplied them. I can confirm the person behind the counter went to discuss this with the Pharmacist, which is worrying in itself, should this person be dispensing medicine.
This breaches their Essential NHS Service duty to accept unwanted medicines from the public, including controlled drugs, regardless of who dispensed them.
I was treated dismissively and with no compassion at a very difficult time, a few days back I was holding his hand whilst he died. I was upset at the Pharmacy at the time, and took the bag and said a few words I regretted afterwards but did not use any fowl language, I now have them back at the house.
