My 8 year old daughter has lessons with Allan. She could swim well for her age, but after a short time she has learned all styles. I cannot recommend Allan highly enough - he speaks to her like an adult, in a way she can clearly understand and learn from. He is patient and explains everything so clearly. He is also entirely personable and engages with her. She is 8 and now competes regularly in triathlons and her swimming level is all thanks to Allans coaching. I recommend him to everyone.

As a very nervous non swimmer swimexpert have been fantastic! My teacher Rachel is calm, kind, encouraging and reassuring. I feel safe, and i am seeing improvements each week! I look forward to each lesson which is not something I thought i would ever say about swimming. Thank you so much

Both my daughters have progressed really well with their swimming. My younger daughter is epileptic so swimming can be a concern but HydoKidz have been amazing and the small group numbers mean I can be confident about her safety.

We've had a truly frustrating experience with this swim school. On two separate occasions, we turned up for my son's scheduled lessons only to find no instructor present or that lessons had been cancelled — with zero prior notice. There were no apologies, no explanations, and clearly no coordination between staff.

This isn’t a one-off. Over the past few months, we've faced constant last-minute instructor changes and poorly organised sessions. As a parent of an autistic child, this lack of structure and reliability has been particularly distressing. We chose this service — and paid a premium — expecting a higher standard of care, consistency, and communication. Instead, it’s been the opposite.

The school claims to offer a personalised, high-quality experience, but our reality has been disorganisation, broken promises, and a sense that our concerns simply don’t matter. I’ve requested a refund for the missed sessions and hope they take these issues seriously. Until then, I can’t recommend this service to other families — especially those needing dependable, structured support.

Our son has been swimming with Sean for nearly a year, and has shown amazing progress. Sean has been incredibly patient, and has helped instil a love for the water and built a strong foundation for swimming!

I started 1-2-1 lessons with Vanessa, I cannot swim and get very panicky in water. After just 4 lessons i feel so good about starting with Vanessa that i feel confident in water and want to learn to be able to swim. Vanessa is very patient and allows you the time you need to get through each step. I would have no hesitation in recommending Vanessa for all age groups (i am an adult) who cannot swim due to trauma experienced as a child, Vanessa is helping me overcome my fear!! Thank You Vanessa, you are great!

Our 5 year old son started lessons with Bethany in Gloucester a few months ago, taking advantage of an offer during the Easter holidays.

He had previously had lessons elsewhere but not made a significant amount of progress. After a few lessons with Bethany his confidence increased dramatically and we have already seen progress with his swimming. Bethany is great at making the sessions enjoyable and appropriate for his ability. We have decided to continue the lessons on a longer term basis and very happy overall with how they are going.

We have also experienced good customer service with prompt call backs when requested

We had a good session today

We have been coming to have swimming lessons one to one for about six months now. The setting itself is great - the pool is in a hotel and at the time we go, the pool is very quiet and it is clear which section is used for swimming lessons.
The instructor we have had for the majority of lessons so far (Elizabeth S) is very clear and understanding. Sometimes my son hasn't been the most motivated or the most enthusiastic but always gets in the pool and gives the lesson a good try. He has made a lot more progress than I thought, and I am really pleased with the service that is delivered. Elizabeth is also very personable and works very hard to think of different ways to tailor the swimming lesson and I have the impression that she does this foe other pupils too.
I would say the price is comparatively more than group lessons or with other companies, and in this instance, we are happy to pay it.

Amazing swim instructor. Bence really supported my daughter with her swimming technique & she has really enjoyed his lessons. He always ends on a fun activity & adapts as appropriate throughout the lesson. Thank you Bence!

This was my first time learning to swim. I always had a fear which happened when I was little and it has always put me off of swimming. I looked up on Internet and found swim expert. I booked up a 30 minute lesson to start with. I meet Haden L and he was my instructor/teacher. He was amazing and made me feel at ease. He would always show me what to do first and I never rushed. He really helped me build up my confidence in the water. Anyone wanting to learn to swim in Maidstone kent area I would very very highly recommend swim expert and get Haden L. He really has helped me so much with confidence in the water

Great experience and confidence boosting. Had lessons with Robert and well worth coming for a life long skill. Will continue to book in to keep getting better. Recommend going with Robert highly!

Bethany from Swim Expert has been amazing with our daughter. She loves going each week. We have just booked another block of lessons. The admin staff at Swim Expert have been brilliant too, fantastic customer service and very helpful.

My 14 year old son (who has Autism) can now swim with no issues and was fully comfortable with Omar his instructor. My husband has finally learnt to swim at 57 years old having previously been scared of the water. Overall I would highly recommend using swim expert

My daughter has just started 1:1 swimming lessons with Bethany S and we can't express enough how pleased we are. My daughter's confidence has grown in the water from the first lesson and we can see her becoming better and better each week. Beth is fantastic with her. She is always excited for her next swimming lesson straight after the last. Robinswood Gloucester location is a lovely quiet pool. Would definitely recommend.

I was terrified of going into the pool. Elizabeth on my first day made me feel so comfortable and gave me the confidence and I was able to keep coming back.

Our two children are gaining confidence and really enjoying the lessons.

My experience wasn't good, I first book 6 lessons, had 3 lessons with Lauren, she was good, then should of had 3 lessons with Amelia, only had 1 lesson with her , then 2 with different people, then that location wasn't doing it anywhere, so had to find somewhere else, so I thought I found somewhere in Reading, 5 1 hour lessons with Maria, only had 1 with her, then again 4 different teachers, and that location was falk of kids, so I went to Slough had another 5 lessons, wasn't happy there. If I had stayed at my 1st location with Lauren I think I would have been ok
I just thought swim expert didn't care about my concerns , it's alot of money I spend,
