It has become the norm that so many sellers on Facebook and the like are flooded by scam dumping China sellers who lure the public in with impressive promotion material.

I have been caught numerous times by sellers professing to be UK based when it transpires they are nothing of the kind.

Furthermore when you realise you are a victim of misrepresentation at point of sale these China sellers refuse to cancel your order and insist you pay the return postage for what will transpire to be the purchase of some Mickey Mouse cheap and nasty inferior item not fit for purpose.

The China seller I last had cause for complaint is hounding me with the threat of legal action.

Fortunately I have recovered all dodgy purchase compliments of visa dispute action which has been very successful.

Be aware ~ it’s commonly known as ‘dumping’

I ordered an item from Sylvane based on a UK review page of it. I followed the link from that page, so not FB or other SM pages (I have been stung there before).
After ordering the item I got a £100 gift voucher, which meant that I got a Dyson style hair dryer for £19.
Something told me to look at reviews (rookie mistake to do it afterwards) and the reviews are not good.
I contacted them and asked to cancel, especially as I found out that it was coming from Hong Kong, but my order was already on its way.... Or so I was told.

It was a last minute-ish Christmas present, which obviously didn't get here for Christmas, I was cross, I emailed, they said it was in the way.
Lo and behold, it DID arrive.... But no hairdryer. The '£30' free gift I still stand by what I say when I said I have seen the same item for around £5 on Temu, however, I digress.
I emailed them again (you have to make allowances for time differences) and to be fair to Customer Service, they DO email back. They apologised and said they would get on it. I was thinking £19 isn't the worst of scams, but I was annoyed.

Anyway, the hairdryer turned up, and works beautifully.

This is why I stand corrected.
I thought I had been got again by another scam, but I wasn't.
Customer service is an actual customer service, not a load of BS like you get with a scam.
Both items did arrive, the free gift is rubbish, but hey, minor details, I wasn't bothered about that.

Allow time, and hopefully you will get what you need.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT IT DOES NOT WORK. Useless, used for 4 months, no difference in hair growth at all. Packaging and product looks and feels cheap. Tried to get a refund but they won’t budge, 30 day warranty which was not enough time to see if it would work. They sell it just under the £100 so even if you paid by credit card, you’re stuck as you can’t claim back through them either, ABSOLUTE SCAM, I can’t stress this enough, please tell anyone you know who is thinking of getting an IPL to stick to well known companies like Braun and avoid this product. I want everyone to be aware of this and hopefully stop this product being sold.

After further communication, the company has now refused to honour the previously agreed 60% refund.
The refund was offered in writing and accepted, but later they introduced new conditions that were never clearly stated at the time.
Despite providing confirmation from my bank that the chargeback had been resolved and no double refund would occur, the company declined to proceed and stated the matter is now closed.
This confirms my original concern about misleading communication and poor after-sales support.AVOID this company

I wish I had come on here before I bought. I bought an LED mask on 2nd December as part of a black Friday sale. I wanted it for Christmas. I assumed a few weeks was sufficient for delivery as things usually arrive within a few days. I eagerly awaited but it didn't come so I ended up looking into this company to check it wasn't a scam. I came across this website with such negative reviews. I was annoyed that a company that seems to be UK based ships from China. A tiny percentage said they did receive the product but it took a long time so I held up hope. Long after Christmas, I checked tracking information throughlhy which was a bit of a mission to do. It still had yet to leave China. Therefore I requested a refund via PayPal. Thankfully PayPal issued this on 28th January in full. Avoid this company.

I cant stres this enough. Do not purchase anything from this scamming company. The contact number is fake, the tracking number they give u is fake.

Scam keep offering a refund saying it is being processed but it obviously isn't. Got my money back from my credit card company. Cowards won't even provide a contact name and only reply as Team Sylvane. Simply do not do business with these crooks and hopefully they will be investigated and locked up.

Absolute scam ordered a face mask on the 8th Dec never arrived. Reached out to the company and they told me I had to chase the courier which was evri y the way. I did this and the apparently they looked it to it and they had sent the parcel back to Sylvane but guess what they were still saying it was the couriers fault and I had to take it up with them. I did a charge back through the bank and got my money back thankfully DONT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY.

This review is to help others not lose there money to some pretend seller in China. Although they make out there uk based!!

Bought two LED face masks for Christmas. They never arrived. I reached out to them and they take a long time to say they would refund the money. This never happened. Went through PayPal dispute and the company said they’d sent the items and proof of postage? I never received anything and PayPal found in their favour!! Go figure, this is a scam website don’t use

USE A CREDIT CARD, AND CLAIM OFF THAT. Ordered face mask in November 2025, took weeks to arrive and worked three times. Sent email, nothing. Had paid on Amex so claimed on the card. Sylvane soon replied when they had the money taken back by Amex. Agree with other customer. Total rip off. BEWARE

1* as there is no option for minus 10000* Ordered a Lumaglow face mask from SYLVANE.CO.UK??? Not to be confused with SYLVANE.COM,!!Like other reviewers I was directed via an article. It did take around 4 weeks to arrive which I thought odd but it was the run up to Christmas. It was gift that was duplicated so it was unopened and as received. I contacted Sylvane several times via email and phone (unanswered) after being unable to complete the returns form. I eventually received a reply requesting photographs and received a polite reply suggesting a goodwill gesture of 30% refund and I keep the product (not an option for me) or return to the address given in Hong Kong??? Customers are being totally compromised. I emailed my thoughts saying the cost of return is totally disproportionate and have been offered. 50% discount immediately and keep the product??? I finally asked what their definition of immediately was and this is their reply:

They are truly shocking , duping me with no intention of any refund, even though I tried to be reasonable. Why haven’t Trading Standards or a relevant Government body not closed this website down?? No disrespect who looks at a returns policy before purchase? I originally assumed they would forward a Return Label. I sent all emails and purchase details to my credit card Company in the hope of a chargeback and they’re suggesting I should return the goods and keep the receipt etc. Why would I throw good money after bad???? As stated this is nothing short of a scam built on the strength of a uk web address.!!!

Had the same experience as everyone else. Tried to cancel order before it left the warehouse but they ignored my
emails. Funny that. Then the bank Monzo refused to refund my money because of their t and c s.
Please don’t ever use these people. Don’t do it!!

Bought their so called LED face mask on the 6th of December for a Christmas present. It is now 9th of feb and I still haven’t received the item. I’ve contacted them numerous amount of times and it almost feels their responses are robotic. Always telling me to be patient and wait. Then eventually they claimed it was delivered and showed a proof of delivery in a building I have never seen before. Couldn’t track the item because apprently the first time they sent out it got damaged through the transport, so they sent out a so called replacement without telling me and without a new tracking number. Now they keep telling me me to contact yodel to get a written confirmation that it’s been lost/misplaced and yodel keeps telling me to contact the manufacturers. I am stuck in a loop and have taken it up with PayPal to open up a case and claim my refund. Please don’t buy from this company.

This company is a complete scam. They also use an elaborate scheme to make claims through paypal not got through, as they ask you to cancel open cases to be able to process the refund and once a case is closed in paypal it is almost impossible to reopen again for the same reason. Do not waste your time or money.

Ordered from this company, fobbed off for 6 weeks saying it's in transit, then asked for bank details to refund, challenged it via PayPal and they even told PayPal that it's on its way, total pack of lies, finally got my money back from PayPal today for an order placed on the 7th December.

Don't even want to give them one star. Still waiting on order 8 weeks ago. No response to emails so going through bank to try yo get money back

Please stay away from this site don’t buy from them I didn’t know they are from Hong Kong. 1st waiting for the gift to come emails sent keep being fobbed off then had to buy a second item from UK retail for my gift then it turned up asked if I could return it was told it would cost me too much to return it to Hong Kong so they would give me 20% off and keep it as I said I did not need it anymore then never heard back from them asked the bank for a refund bank contacted them and they refuse to give me a refund so like I said, please do not buy from this site

1 star is too much. I am still waiting for a product I ordered over 8 weeks ago. I have asked for a refund but have been refused.

This company is either a scam or complete shambles. I purchased an item at the beginning of December never received it and still waiting on a refund. Don’t use this company or site !!
