Wonderful car and service

I booked a seven-seat Mitsubishi Xpander and instead received for the same price a brand-new VW Teramont that was spacious enough for my large family (2 adults + 3 kids) as well as for our 4 big suitcases and numerous bags. The driver brought us from the airport to our car and on the departure day brought us back. Both deliveries were swift and comfortable. No extra commissions, nor charges on the return. I was extremely happy about the car and the service. Highly recommended!

Everything is great

Everything is great, everything was fine. The staff was polite and in touch. Convenient place for picking up and dropping off. The car is in excellent condition, quite economical, did not let us down anywhere. Maybe the price for us is not as comfortable as, for example, in Montenegro, but Belgrade itself is more expensive)

Rhodes car rental

The service was excellent the representative brought the car to the gate, and it was easy to communicate with him.
The car was in good shape the child car seat was okay and overall we had a very pleasant experience. I highly recommend it.

TakeCars.com was a horrible experience…

TakeCars.com was a horrible experience in Tblisi. There was no office. We took over the car in a suburbian area on the street directly from other customers. Nobody spoke English. The car was totally dirty, had no fuel and was not checked. We had paid already part of the amount in advance so we took car. After fueling it did not start anymore, so we had to call the owner, who sent someone to restart the car. We had to go to a place where they chanced the battery.
The exhaust was also loud and we were afraid to loose it completely. Nobody took care. The owner wrote me via WhatsApp that we were good to go. I told him the airbag control.lamp as well as the tire pressure lamp were on. He did not care. After only 50 km on a paved road we had a flat tire and had to use the spare tire (which was not a normal tire plus the tools did not fit) After managing that we had to go back 40 km to buy a tire. Of course we had to pay, but the owner said he would reimburse it. We arrived at our hotel at 20:30 instead 16:00.
When we took the car the other day we had another flat tire after 20 km on a not paved road and had to drive 60 km with the spare tire to get a new tire. Pay again.
The owner was outrageous! Told us that we damage his car and his tires. He was really rude. We are 60 years old and very careful and experienced drivers all over the world. The truth is: the tires were old and worn, damaged and had no tire tread (profile) The whole car was in poor and even dangerous condition.
We had the car 10 days and when we delivered the car again on a suburbian street, the owner insulted us was rude and unpolite and accused us. He did not reimburse anything. Instead said that we used forbidden roads ( which is not true)and that we had to pay him money.
I complained about all that writing to takeCars.com and got the answer, that it is MY problem and that they can't help me. Offered me 10%discount on my next car rental. Ridiculous!!! They even wrote me that I have to try to get my money back from the owner myself, if he promised it. They also accused us, that we were on a forbidden road.
I never read anything about that road to be forbidden. It is simply not true.
So, at the end I must say I feel cheated and also treated very respectless.

Great

There was an incident, they quickly changed it to another car, so we didn't drive this car. Everything is fine, only the large commission (10%) for returning the deposit was disappointing, but it depends on the lessor, not on the site. Takecars is a great service!

Everything was great

Everything was great. The car is in perfect condition, spacious and comfortable.
The only complaint is that the car is full of trash. Bottles, a pack of napkins, a lot of small change. Some kind of casing is lying behind the driver's seat.
It would be nice if it was cleaned between rentals.
Compliments to Mary - always in touch, any questions, problems, etc.
The service is at a fairly high level.

We rent a car for the 5 days. Everything was perfect, fast pick up and return. Car was in a good condition. Mirza was top with great service, they allowed late return without extra charge because our flight has been delayed. We will came back for sure!

Came to Malta from Belarus in June…

Came to Malta from Belarus in June 2024.
Rented a Fiat Punto. Upon arrival, this car was not there, they replaced it with a Citroen C4, but without additional payment!!!
The condition of the car is excellent, the staff are polite.
Found a car through the website takecars.com
A very convenient website, there is a choice of languages. When choosing and booking a car, you can see all the details of the amount, without any hidden payments
When I booked a car, they quickly contacted me and confirmed the order.
By the way, takecars.com is the only website where I could find a car rental with a small deposit and with the ability to pay the deposit not with a credit card but with a debit card.

Be aware and double check everything

Be aware and double check everything. I spent several hours selecting cars and then noticed that the button "send message to the car owner" is a scam. All messages went directly to the site admin, and then he asks for your whatsapp and tries to answer them personally (spoiler: he does not know any single detail about cars)

Also, as you can notice, all Trustpilot 4 and 5 star reviews are scams. Those reviewers have only one review in their profile.

Also the admin usually changes the site domain.

SCAM, fraud, russian mafia - car rent in Albania

Total SCAM.
lowest price is used just like a hook.

Moreover, they are financing russian terrorism.
Russian "payment cards" are accepted as payment method - explicitly suggested on payment step.

After booking a car in Albania, an automated email is sent saying that "car owner rejected your booking" and it suggests more expensive version which is above market price.

And this email is sent in russian language.

7) We are a travel aggregator and accept global VISA/MASTER cards as well as Russian MIR cards.

We rented cars in Albania

We rented cars in Albania, disgustingly dirty cars, everything was broken, even the driver’s seat belt didn’t work. We paid for a car seat for 6 months, we were given a car seat for a 3 year old child and the money was not returned. To return the car, you need to drive to his office, and then with suitcases, bags and children you need to walk along the roadway. Terrible service, I don't recommend it to anyone!

Vehicle hire via takecars in Northern Cyprus

Best company!

I really liked your car rental company in Montenegro! I have been looking for rental sites for a long time and only yours had the opportunity to make an advance payment from a Russian card and book a car. This is very convenient and relevant in our difficult time of sanctions. I was quickly contacted and everything was explained. In Montenegro itself, the car was delivered to me exactly at the appointed time without delay. The Audi A3 car was in perfect condition and I really liked it! Your employee Mirko brought it to me, a very kind and helpful person. He explained and showed me everything, was very friendly and quickly answered my questions on WhatsApp when I was already using the car. The car was also picked up on time. Takecars error and difficult to obtain refund deposit

Following reply below and receipt of full refund I have upgraded from 1 to 3 stars. Note the MD response is an accurate reflection of facts but may have been misinformed. I was in regular email contact with staff until cancelling the rental they then did not respond to emails nor didn’t receive any. They still seem a good source of cars but be aware you may need to pursue refunds.

Booked a car on their website. The information was incorrect and the rental cost would have been hundreds of US dollars more than stated. They admitted it was a mistake. I cancelled the rental as they refused to do so and they have not refunded any money but took more money for rebooking. They also wish to charge 10% for the mistake on their website. This is all with Takecars.

Unfortunately, due to a misunderstanding with our new supplier, this option only covered the crossing fee, without the insurance. I want to confirm that this was indeed our error.

As a result, we've processed your refund in full, without the usual 10% fee which typically covers our transaction costs with the payment system. Our team made several attempts to reach out to you on May 9th and afterwards to resolve this and offer alternatives, but unfortunately, we couldn't connect.
