Amelia was my first point of contact at Africa Odyssey and she stayed with us right up until we got home from our trip. We spent a few weeks going back and forth until we found an itinerary that was not only in budget but also exactly what we wanted. Amelia was not only patient and kind but genuinely shared in our excitement for the trip. She eagerly shared her expertise on the country and if she didn’t have personal experience at a place, she would check with her team. She passionately shared her ideas whilst genuinely listening to ours. Once we were set to go, she made sure we had everything we needed in terms of insurance and visas and wished us an amazing trip. The organisation was faultless and we felt safe and looked after the whole time. Our guide from Hoopoe tours was incredible, he was kind and patient with our son and his knowledge on the wildlife was endless. Amelia continued to check in and wish us happy holidays. My husband and I traveled to Kenya and Tanzania in September 2024. African Odyssey did an excellent job helping us organize our two week adventure. Sam was our consultant and did a wonderful job helping us plan our trip. There were no issues with flights or connections. The itinerary he came up with was excellent, and we stayed in several wonderful camps and had amazing local guides. Our two favorite camps and parks were Tortillis camp in Amboseli, and the Laba Laba migration camp in the northern Serengeti. It was the trip of a lifetime, and we would highly recommend African Odyssey plan your safari.

My wife and I were planning on going to Tanzania for our honeymoon, wanting to do a combination of Zanzibar and Serengeti national Park. We didn’t have any precedent trip to refer to as we were the first of our family and friends to embark on this type of journey. I spoke to a few travel agents and felt that some agencies were trying to put me onto their specific agenda. On the contrary, Dave was very receptive to planning the type of trip that my wife and I desired and asked us many questions so that he could fully understand how he could cater a trip for us in particular, especially by answering questions we had as well. He has been to Tanzania many times, and it was very evident that his recommendations were coming from personal experience as well as what he saw was most fit for us based on our description. He was very easy to contact, very easy to work with, and his recommendations turned out fantastic. All the logistics that were planned domestically over there were very smooth and it really helped my wife and I have a worry-free, seamless honeymoon. Can’t recommend Dave enough - he knows what he’s doing and he doesn’t plan the same trip for everyone - he plans based on YOUR desires and preferences.

We were given excellent advice by Sam and Ted that helped shape our choice of destinations, and with their help were able to put together an itinerary that suited our whole family. We ended up with a wonderful variety of locations and activities that pleased everyone--not easy with a group of eight ranging in age from grandparents to teenage grandchildren! The destinations themselves were exceptionally good, and Siwandu, Ikuka, and Zuri Zanzibar were fabulous choices. It was a first visit to Africa for most of the family, and I know everyone came away with a lifetime's worth of wonderful memories of people, places, food and lodging, landscape, and wildlife! Thanks for helping us make this trip happen.

Dave was super helpful with first-hand experience and camp recommendations. Ted took over seamlessly while Dave was away. Everyone at Tanzania/Africa Odyssey was responsive and responsible. They put together a great trip for us. I would use them again without hesitation.

Sam was SO helpful! I ask A LOT of questions and have never used a travel agent before and Sam always answered promptly and assured me it was all planned! And of course, he was right! He listened to our needs, made amazing recommendations and ultimately planned the perfect, well-rounded honeymoon we dreamt of. :) Highly recommend!

What a different amazing holiday ! It was life changing and Odyssey made it absolutely seamless. From pick up to drop off they were on point, including a welcome with water and maps on arrival, and when our flights got cancelled and we had to add a night they facilitated this so well with the additional night and transportation to the airport, we were impressed. The choice of camps more than met our expectations. My teen children never once complained. The staff at the camps were always accommodating and willing to serve. Thank you Odyssey

We used Tanzania Odyssey to plan and reserve our trip to Tanzania in February 2023. I had used frequent flyer points to get air tickets into Zanzibar and out of Kilimanjaro. I asked Tanzania Odyssey to give us a good experience in Zanzibar, both in Stone Town and on the beach, and for days at Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti.

Tanzania Odyssey made terrific choices for us and had the travel arrangements work flawlessly. We were met at the Zanzibar airport in the middle of the night by a driver who took us to the hotel and got us in. The hotel was in an old mansion in the center of Stone Town and it was just what we wanted. Not part of a chain, not large. Our room was on the top floor and was very comfortable and clean.

After two days in Stone Town we were transferred by another driver to a beach resort on the northeast coast of the island. This hotel was right on the beach and included breakfast and dinner. The food was excellent; they make good use of the spices for which Zanzibar is famous. We went scuba diving at a nearby dive center.

Then we were picked up again and transported to the Zanzibar airport for our flight to northern Tanzania. Tanzania Odyssey had made all the flight arrangements and the drivers and it all worked perfectly. At the Lake Manyara airport we were picked up by our guide and transported to a superb hotel outside of the Ngorongoro Crater. It was on an old coffee plantation and had separate buildings for the units, a really nice bar and patio and wonderful food. The next day we spent with our guide touring the Crater, then another night at the hotel followed by a flight to the movable tent camp in the Serengeti. Our guide met us at the airstrip and was with us for all three days; he was great!

I liked that the arrangements that Tanzania Odyssey made for us were basically all-inclusive for the Serengeti part of the trip and mostly for the rest of it. There was no nickel-dime stuff with them. It was pretty clear throughout what was included and what was not. The drivers were there when they were supposed to be, and clear in their schedules.

It was a great trip and we highly recommend Tanzania Odyssey to arrange it.

A fabulous honeymoon was underpinned by excellent planning by Sam at Tanzania Odyssey. All transportation ran smoothly, hotels were fantastic and the excursions were beyond our expectations. Sam's local knowledge really helped with the arrangements.

Ten years later, for our anniversary, we wanted a special post-pandemic splash-out beach spectacular, and Dave certainly didn't disappoint. He over-delivered as our adventure back to Zanzibar could not have gone better.

My Safari organizer Dave was the most patient and knowledgeable travel agent I've ever worked with. I was dealing with a very tight timeline in terms of my vacation travel and he organized everything flawlessly. The camps he chose for me to visit were perfect for my needs as a first-timer on safari. The pre-departure organization was just perfect from the invoicing to the app with all of my travel details available right on my cell phone and completely personalized! It was also wonderful to be able to share the app details with friends and family back home so they would not be worried. They also provided emergency email and phone number contacts which gave even greater peace of mind since I was traveling to a country that I've never visited and I'm not fluent in the language. This is really an A+ company... their professionalism and expertise made for a perfect experience for me. I'm so glad I found them!

My husband and I had an amazing trip to Tanzania and Uganda thanks to Tanzania Odyssey. Safari in the North Serengeti and Gorilla Trekking in Uganda were unforgettable! Activities, accommodation and logistics were well-organized and top notch.

Tanzania Odyssey prepared a safari package to Tanzania to view the Great Migration. The tour took us around the Serengeti, under canvas as well as in lodges. We had a great experience that was beyond our greatest expectations. This was our first trip to Africa, and once in Tanzania the itinerary that Dave Fuller had prepared was flawless, accommodations were all top-notch, and we were met at all stages with experienced guides and courteous staff, which helped make this a most memorable trip. I am very happy to have booked a first safari holiday with Tanzania Odyssey. First George and then Dave took al the stress of planning the trip off me, including of repeated postponements due to covid. They were both professional and easy to deal with and gave sound advice as to what would and wouldn't work. Tanzania Odyssey organized our safari trip to Tanzania in August 2021. Both camps where we stayed , Sayari and Namiri Plain deserved five stars. The whole trip went very smoothly. We will not hesitate to recommend Tanzania Odyssey to organize your future safari travel needs. Everyone in the company is very responsive, and should your contact person happens to be away, there is always someone to step up and answers your questions.

Tanzania Odyssey planned and organised a phantastic trip. It was already our second trip to Africa with Tanzania Odyssey. Everything worked out just perfectly. The parks and lodges visited (Selous/Sand Rivers; Ruaha/Jabali Ridge; Zanzibar/Zuri) were all wonderful and special. There's nothing Tanzania Odyssey could have done better.

OUTSTANDING.......Sam did a fabulous job in planning our Tanzania safari trip. All the locations we stayed at were top notch and transfers throughout the trip went like clockwork. I am a seasoned traveler and this ranks as one of the best companies and individual I have dealt with. A definite 10 only because I can't do 11.

My husband and I were looking to plan a vacation that allowed us to social distance and stay outdoors as much as possible while wearing masks when appropriate. After reading Marc's Trip Report, a safari in Tanzania landed on our radar and the planning began! The planning process was seamless from beginning to end with Sam taking the time to answer all of our questions via phone and email. Sam's subsequent COVID fact-finding trip to Tanzania alleviated our fears of the unknown during these strange times and gave us the confidence to confirm our trip.

Our trip was simply magical - talk about having the Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti almost to yourself! We had the opportunity to chat with a few travel agents (who were also on COVID fact-finding trips) and they all emphasized the value in the exclusivity of the camps, game vehicles, and parks at this moment. It was truly the breath of fresh air that we needed to rest and recharge.

This is our second safari with Africa Odyssey and each time they exceed our expectations. Thank you for a trip of a lifetime - it still seems like a dream!
