iMac recovered
Staff were excellent to deal with, clear and extremely helpful. My iMac gave up the ghost, and they were able to recover everything and got the Mac up and running again, like new, if not better than before. Very happy and grateful to the staff in Galway.

Worst experience I have had
Worst experience I have had. I am guessing the positive reviews are by their own staff members.
I dialed up to book an appointment and was quoted €35 for diagnosis of the IMac.
And when I got there I am quoted €65.
The only reason I have as told is that the guy who booked me in was a week old and didn't know the rates. So We Are Sorry.

I had previously written an email to find out what the problem could be on my Ipad that was repaired at your Galway office located at 17 Dock road. The gents that served me were very cordial, and convinced me they could repair my cracked screen. On the 3rd or 4th day after the repair, my screen started doing some strange things. Multi colours appearing, black lines and no display. When I arrived home from my trip, I took the Ipad to the Apple store and they confirmed that the installation was not done properly by you. I still have the Ipad but it's still not functioning. Too bad because it is a good Ipad and should have had a couple of years left. Oh well, I know better for the next time and will relay the message to my dearest friends to avoid 3rd party repairs. I simply wanted to reply to your "how we doing after 3 mos email" and let know what transpired. I am not looking for compensation, simply terribly disappointed with the repair job.
I've enclosed a picture of the screen that remains scrambled due to the tempered glass not being glued properly, causing distortion to the display and my proof of payment.

Our computer shut down randomly. Brought it into Techstar Galway to Michael + Jonny. They couldn't be more helpful. They checked out our computer and it was unfortunately non repairable but the guys recovered all our data and set up a new PC for us in just a few days with everything installed and ready to go again. Very efficient, Highly recommend Techstar.

Excellent Customer service
Staff is great, patient and transparent.
Prices are reasonable.
They did take a little bit of time, but it's understandable because they had to source the part. I was even suggested a nice temporary phone that was perfect for my needs in the meanwhile, so they really know their stuff!
I thought I'll be charged a bomb looking at the damage but they only charged me for the parts. M51 Phone is as good as new.
Can't complain, I'm grateful and wish the staff and store the best of luck.

I was half way through building a top spec gaming PC when I lost my nerve and handed it over to TechStar who did a lovely job connecting up the multitude of cables and myriad of vulgar ultra bling. I am now ungriefable!
Unsatisfactory customer service
Hi, unfortunately my experience of the Ballincollig branch of this company has been memorable for the wrong reason. They carried out a repair to my iPad and lost the SIM card and the sim card holder. This can happen anyone . They apologised for losing both parts and agreed to replace. 5 months later and after multiple calls to the shop I still have not received these parts or even a call back.

Solved a Windows PC Problem
I thought I had contracted a virus on my Dell PC. I was relieved when TechStar told me that a graphics card had packed up. Worried that other bits were also on the way out, I've replaced the PC. TechStar very kindly offered to recycle the original.

They should be called Tech Zero star, I took in my son's Samsung tablet in January as it was not charging, the staff on the day advised it would be a 35e diagnostic charge and that usually, they would change the screen and battery but only charge for whatever one was causing the issue, it should take between 5-10 days to fix.
I paid up and left the tablet with them, a week later I ring up and was told they changed the screen but that did not resolve the issue and they would order a battery and which could be another week, so I ring the following week only to be told no battery in yet to give it another week, this went on for 7 weeks so I eventually give up and told them I would be on the weekend to collect the tablet.
I arrive in only to be told the tablet is not ready as it needs to be put back together again and if it would be okay for them to post it out to me, again I agreed.
A week later still no tablet so I go back in to collect again this time to be told that the battery was put back together but as they have replaced the screen I would either need to pay for that (NO CHANCE) or they can put back on my old screen, only problem was they did not have an engineer to put back on old screen so they will post it out next week, it has been over 2 months now and I still do not have a tablet, I have long since given up on them repairing it at this stage I just want the tablet back with all its original parts.
I will never deal with this company again
