Disappointing communication and service over several years
We have been patients with SF for several years, and unfortunately our experience has been marked by repeated issues with incorrect and inconsistent communication from start to finish.
Throughout our time with the clinic, we frequently encountered conflicting information, administrative errors, and a tone of communication that often felt transactional rather than supportive. In a process as emotionally and financially demanding as IVF, clarity, consistency and sensitivity are incredibly important and this has repeatedly been lacking.
While individual staff members can be polite, the overall experience has felt poor and at times unnecessarily stressful.
We hope this feedback encourages meaningful reflection and improvement for future patients and guides anyone reading this to research alternative options before committing.
Do not recommend!!
Absolutely devastating experience from start to finish. We did not even have a single round of IUI due to their poor communication, obscene requests and lack of patient care.
The whole process is very money orientated and when complaints arise, staff do not hold accountability at all.
Their duty of care to individuals emotional wellbeing is non-existent, alongside what is already a stressful time
Avoid this clinic!!!
Hugely disappointing experience with TFP from start to finish, I would avoid this clinic at all costs and go elsewhere. We had no option but to change clinic after a failed NHS round and two private rounds with them. The proof is in the pudding and I am now pregnant from one round at our new clinic with remaining ‘excellent’ graded embryos in freezer storage for the future.
After a failed NHS round at the clinic we got sucked into the clinic after they offered us a multi cycle private round financed with access fertility. I wish we had done our research and looked at their appalling statistics, it is my biggest regret during our fertility journey. We were in a vulnerable position and the way they explained the changes in our treatment made it seem a dead certainty it would work.
Following a transfer of two ungraded embryos I miscarried at around 8 weeks. There was absolutely no aftercare from the clinic, you are just left to deal with it alone, both physically and mentally. Following this they just lure you back in for another round. Between the two rounds they changed one injection and (no surprises) it failed again. The Doctors are unprofessional and lack any empathy. They don’t explain things and withheld information from us. They are very happy to sell you expensive add ons when it isn’t needed e.g. EmbryoGlu and lubion.
With our round in our new clinic they immediately suggested a mild stimulation and ICSI. Neither of these were ever discussed or offered to us at TFP.
Following our failed rounds at TFP and all the learning we have done at our new clinic we filed a complaint. They fobbed off our complaint and said everything they did was right. Ultimately, their job is to create babies and look after incredibly vulnerable patients. Neither of which they achieved, all through their wrong doing. Our new doctor reviewed my medical notes and was absolutely shocked with the protocol they had me on.
The only thing good about the clinic is the caring nurses. One of them even told me to leave the clinic and go elsewhere and to file a complaint. Which says an awful lot about the establishment.
Please do not make the same mistakes as us and go elsewhere straight away. Research thoroughly and get second opinions before committing. Going to this clinic was the worst decision I have ever made!
Fertility preservation relegated to a commercial negotiation
I have been a long-standing patient of TFP, with sperm stored since 2002 following BEAM chemotherapy. For many years, I have paid my annual storage fees reliably via Direct Debit.
This year, with no prior notice, I was informed that TFP had introduced a “new company directive” under which payment plans and Direct Debits were no longer accepted. I was told the only option was to pay the full annual fee upfront, later “conceded” to two or three instalments (subject to management approval).
This is not a discretionary consumer purchase. This is about the ability to conceive.
TFP were made fully aware that I am currently buying a house and that this sudden policy change created genuine financial difficulty. Despite this, no clear or coherent explanation was provided as to why a long-standing Direct Debit arrangement (which protects both patient and provider, or perhaps more appropriately, consumer and vendor) was suddenly no longer acceptable. Instead, the process became a negotiation, which I found profoundly distressing and inappropriate given the sensitivity of fertility preservation.
After weeks of stressful email exchanges, I was then telephoned by TFP and told that Direct Debit could, in fact, be reinstated.
This made the situation significantly worse. It demonstrated that the arrangement was possible all along, and that the earlier insistence on upfront or accelerated payment was not driven by any immovable constraint, but by policy discretion. The emotional toll of being placed under pressure, with the implied risk of losing genetic material stored for over two decades, was entirely avoidable.
Patients using fertility storage services are, by definition, vulnerable. To change long-standing payment arrangements without notice, transparency or compassion, and to reverse course only after prolonged resistance, felt deeply insensitive and misaligned with the nature of the service being provided.
This experience stripped what should be a dignified, humane service of its humanity, and I cannot recommend TFP to any prospective customer.
Bad experience
Very bad communication on such a sensitive issue since the first appointment. Despite reminders, not receiving updates. Avoid this place.
Not recommended for unexplained infertility
Without a known cause for our infertility we entrusted TFP as an established clinic with the first cycles of our IVF journey. What they did, they did well - procedures, scans, facilities and most staff members were good. But there was a very disappointing lack of due dilligence to identify contributing factors before beginning treatment. TFP did not investigate mine or my partners personal and family medical histories, and we since uncovered conditions on both sides that we did not know were affecting our fertility - they could have been checked with simple tests but were not. After entrusting thousands of pounds, months of time and energy to find easily identifiable and treatable issues were missed is not acceptable. We raised our concerns to the team but have had to accept how let down we feel. It says it all that in our final discussion with the medical director I was asked what my job is, based solely on my answer there was then an immediate assumption that we delayed TTC for the sake of my career - this is not only inappropriate but also incorrect.
So if you know the cause of your fertility challenges TFP may be suitable, but our experience has unfortunately been that for unexplained infertility they will not attempt to investigate beyond stats and numbers on a page to understand and treat your individual circumstances.
Awful Experience
Only had to give one star but honestly would not even give them that. It was the worse experience of my life. Felt like a scam. Took the money then said would recommend going abroad for better results. Communication is poor. Too much reliance on the app. I was stressed with the whole experience. Total waste of money. They do not care.
They just want to exploit you
They just want to exploit you. They just want to get as much money as possible without helping you a but. we paid for allthe test, we paid for all the medication, we made all rye payments in advance. unfortunately the cycle didnt went through. they not only refused to refund but also iver charged us for something they never told ys that they arw gojng to do, while claiming they did. They should not be allowed to practice in the medical field.
By the way, whatever cost they tell you in advance, it would be utter lie. They mentioned an already very high cost of£7610 but we ended up paying well iver £12000. If someone wants a breakup, i can show the trail as well. They basically charged us 9010 just for egg collection, 3 scans and etsy, which they initially priced at £400 but made us pay additional 1410.
Poor communication
Communication is really poor. Despite repeat requests to correspond via email since I am not allowed my phone at work, they still insist on making phone calls. Very difficult to get through to the people you actually need to speak to. Huge delays in starting treatment because of poor admin.
TFP Maidenhead made us feel looked after
TFP Maidenhead looked after us with care and compassion during our full journey. The appointments were well communicated. All information was clear and and the nurses and staff were so kind during our appointments and time at the clinic and at home.
We had a few complications which has cause us to end our fertility journey. TFP's counsellor has given us great advise to move on with our lives. Thank you TFP for looking after us.
Compassionate Care and Expertise That Made Our Dream Come True
As soon as we walked through the doors at TFP Fertility, we were welcomed with kindness and genuine empathy. From day one, every single member of staff we came into contact with has been absolutely lovely – always professional, but also so compassionate and reassuring.
The entire journey has been smoother than we could have ever hoped for. We were kept informed at every stage, with everything explained clearly, which made us feel confident and supported throughout the whole process. Nothing ever felt rushed or impersonal – the team truly took the time to get to know us and made us feel cared for as individuals, not just patients.
Thanks to their incredible care and expertise, our dream has now come true and we are overjoyed to say we are expecting. We can’t begin to thank the clinic enough for what they have done for us.
For anyone considering treatment, we would wholeheartedly recommend TFP Fertility. The level of care, empathy, and professionalism is second to none, and we will always be grateful for the role they played in our journey.
This company is not professional
Glasgow clinic - This company is not professional! I have sent 3 emails with no response and phoned 3 times and been put on hold every time for it to be cut off. Maybe it's a sign not to trust this company with my fertility journey! Dont want to be mid treatment and there is no communication! Red flags already!! AVOID!!
Recommend 100%
The entire team have been absolutely fantastic. We really couldn’t have asked for anything more. We would 100% recommend to everyone. Thank you so much to all at TFP Maidenhead!
Deeply upsetting and dehumanising
I had a deeply upsetting and dehumanising experience with this company. From the beginning, the team showed a shocking lack of empathy and professionalism. The staff behaved with what I can only describe as a god complex - they were dismissive, unapproachable and made it clear they had no interest in answering questions or offering any explanation for the treatment process. Every attempt to seek clarity or reassurance was met with rudeness, defensiveness or silence.
The nurses in particular were aggressive and cold. During procedures that were already physically and emotionally difficult, I was made to feel profoundly uncomfortable and uncared for. There was no compassion, just a clinical coldness that bordered on cruelty.
This is a space where patients are at their most vulnerable, seeking not only medical care but human kindness and respect. I received neither. I left feeling humiliated, unheard and worse off than when I arrived. I would strongly advice to anyone considering this clinic to look elsewhere.
positive experience- would reccomended GCRM.
The entire experience with GCRM from initial assessment to transfer was a positive experience for me & I would definitely recommend this clinic. Every step of the way I felt informed & found communication via the portal to be excellent. I am so happy that I took the decision to go private and to go with GCRM
Find a better option
My wife and I (same sex couple) became involved with this clinic in June 24 when she was 37, and we were finally in a position to start trying for a family. It was a horrible experience and very costly, both mentally and financially. Worst of all we lost 6 months of time which is critical at this age. We were advised to do 3 iui treatments. We were told to shop for our own donor with no help or advice, we had zero scans throughout my wifes cycle to check for folicles or lining thickness: next to no medication , simply just given an ovulation pee stick and told to call at happy face. Something our new doctor found almost impossible to believe. There is no sense of personal one to one care … in fact your made to feel that the doctors and practitioners are just doing a bit of moonlighting from they’re real jobs. Communication is done through a difficult portal system or a zoom call. We have now moved our treatment to an incredible clinic in Porto and this clinic is a whole other level from Glasgow and unfortunately has let us see how disappointing and substandard our experience at gcrm was. I really feel that in this area a higher level of care , communication and service should be mandatory as people can loose their chance to have a family…

Patient treatment and conduct is completely unacceptable. Wouldn’t recommend.
Avoid!
Hello, the clinic in Glasgow is to be avoided. I lost time and money. I was 36 years old when I started my treatments there. They should have advice me to choose IVF, instead they recommended me to do 2 IUI, without even hormone stimulation. In that case my chances would be 10%, instead they told me it was 20%.
I did two IUI with donor sperm because I am gay. I paid thousands of pounds for the sperm. They zero communications skills, even between each others and they didn't care at all about me wanting to be pregnant or about my mental health. They made me waste time and money. Go to Spain directly if you are in my same situation.

Worst experience ever!!!
Didn't have a good experience with this clinic at all.!! Starting from the poor communication from the clinic to the treating consultant.
The worst part was the treating consultant, came late the operating room where I was having my sample transfered. She looked clearly rushed, unprepared and made me even more anxious and nervous. The Process was extremely uncomfortable and horrible in every aspect to tje extent i was screaming in agony. The Consultant was very unprofessional telling me to relax and she even arguing with the nursing staff about during the process about the lighting of the room as if I wasn't there in my most vulnerable position infornt of her!!
I ended up moving my samples to another clinic straight after! Didn't want to even go through this experience with them again!!!
They didn't even care to ask why I'm going through the hassle and expense of moving out of their clinic after 11 years of storage.
The clinic was run by completely different team back then( 2014) with professor Anna Carby being one of the leads who has left the clinic and wasn't there this time when we tried to do our frozen embroy transfer. She and her team were something else and my experience with them was phenomenal with my first baby!!!
Obviously my frozen embryo transfer failed. Package does not include £10 pregnancy test or any scans or tests..literally you pay for the transfer and one online consultation and that's it! I don't not recommend this clinic to anyone!!!

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS
I've had the most stressful experience with GCRM.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS IF YOU CAN. Please, take my advice, don't do what I did, and read through all the one-star reviews on here. They're basically all saying the same thing.
I'm desperately looking for other clinics now. Their communication is terrible, I needed to be chasing them up every single day, and still they're incredibly passive. They always give you another little surprise step you need to make, and they take ages to send you what you need to sign.
Basically, no matter how hard you try to move swiftly through this process, they make it longer and more arduous.
Dealing with this is already emotionally and economically taxing, and their lack of cooperation and complete disregard for your experience as a patient makes it 1000 times more so.
I'VE LOST SO MUCH TIME, UNNECESSARILY. As if we hadn't been waiting and waiting and waiting and saving up already to be here. Total lack of empathy from their part.
I live in Edinburgh so unfortunately we don't have another private clinic nearby, they were our nearest option. But now we're even considering traveling somewhere else to go to another clinic, anything but them.
If you can consider ANY other option, I'd really recommend you have GCRM as your last resource.
They're completely unempathetic, very willing to take your money, knowing you're vulnerable and stressed, but not willing at all to cooperate or help you in any way that isn't the most basic.
It feels like a super low cost clinic, but it isn't.
