About Bunch

Written by the company

Bunch is a platform that organises, manages and simplifies household finances.

Using innovative technology we are able to simplify people’s everyday lives by bunching ordinary, household bills into one platform and one monthly predictable bill.

We have created a selection of personalised packages to suit our differing customer needs. Meaning we’re able to help all our customers from students, to renters to homeowners.

Through our easy-to-use platform, customers are able to pick and choose what products they want to bunch into their package with options such as energy, super-fast broadband, water, contents insurance and lots more.

If our customers want to split their bills with other bill-payers they are able to do so (whether that be housemates or a partner). This allows our customers to have individual, personal liability and stops them being affected if others in the household have issues making payments. This helps to protect our customers and ultimately remove another layer of bill stress.

It’s important to us that our customers spend less time dealing with the hassle of bills and more time doing what they love. So at Bunch, we do all we can to make managing household finances easy.

The worst bill management company

Genuinely hate this company SO much. The first year was fine, then the second year has been genuinely nothing but hassle. Firstly, we ended the year with credit in our account and find out 6 months later that we now owe around £150 from the year before, which we were not notified about. Then, we agree to a payment plan of £25 a month, get charged the first £25 and then they proceed to take the full amount out anyway! I had to spend 40 minutes waiting to get through to them to resolve this and the person on the phone was blunt and frankly quite rude. We also have had an increase of nearly double the monthly cost this year even though we are only using half of the ‘planned usage’. We also are continuing to get messages about a leak in the property which we confirmed there is not, and this needs to go through Thames water which I cannot do as the account is through them, and still months later there is no update on this. It is absolutely ridiculous every encounter I have had has been awful, either email or on the phone. I will genuinely never use this company again, I thought it would be easier but it has been 10000x more hassle.

I was pressured into signing up for the Bunch package, even though I repeatedly said I wanted time to think about it and wasn’t interested. I have since requested to cancel the package within the cooling-off period. I hope Bunch processes my cancellation promptly and confirms that no services or charges will continue.

Excellent Customer Service from Kieanna

I was quite frustrated at first because the email correspondence with the Bunch team was taking weeks to get a response. However, when I called, Kieanna was incredibly helpful and sorted everything out for me straight away. They handled the situation really professionally and provided excellent customer service. I really appreciated their help!

Awful

Awful. Called me up and tried o arrange bills with me, I was unsure so we would discuss them calling me back. When hey did (within the cancellation period) I discussed cancelling with them, and the staff member on the other end of the phone said he would cancel it for me. He did not end up doing that, so I was suddenly forced into this agreement, and I am now in disputes of them cancelling for me. It has left me unable to switch suppliers and billed for hundreds of pounds that should have been cancelled for me. Taking them days to simply review a call, cancel the bills and close my account. Not surprised by the awful reviews, I will be stern my account is closed so I am not charged months after. Awful service, and I am extremely upset. DO NOT USE THEM.

AVOID

AVOID — Extremely disappointing experience

I would strongly recommend that people carefully consider their options before entering into a contract with this company.

I am a single person living in a two-bedroom property, yet my combined utility package was costing me approximately £460 per month, which I felt was extremely excessive for my circumstances.

The biggest issue came when I decided to leave the contract. Despite having consistently paid my bills, I was presented with additional charges of around £900 and, at one point, more than £1,000, which I disputed. I contacted the company several times trying to understand exactly how these amounts had been calculated, but getting a clear explanation was extremely difficult.

I subsequently spoke with another utility provider and was advised that my actual utility costs appeared to be considerably lower than what I had been paying through Bunch.

My experience has left me extremely disappointed with the pricing, billing and customer-service process. I would strongly recommend getting a detailed breakdown of all costs and comparing the package with dealing directly with the underlying utility providers before signing a contract.

Based on my personal experience, I would not use this company again. Please do your research carefully before committing to a contract.

DO NOT USE!!!!

DO NOT USE!!!!! I was in a fixed term contract with them, they did not tell me if I was using more than my direct debit amount. or change amounts so that I wasn’t in debt! and then have tried to bill me over £700 for my final bill! Which is 100% incorrect as they said it was £200 at the start and magically raised to £700 out of thin air. And when I was out of contract to find a new company have tried to charge me £500 for 6 days!!! Had so many conflicting emails with prices!!!Absolute awful company will never use again! No one knows anything. Stay away. Am in dispute with them as they can not provide me with a clear breakdown of the charges! They constantly contradiction themselves and have no clear evidence to back up how I owe them these amounts it is on a pending investigation. Have now tried to scare me and send me a 14 CCJ but I am in dispute with dispute resolutions ombudsman. Absolute scammers and take advantage of people. Would rate lower than 1 star if I could and this company should be taken down!

Avoid this immoral service

I moved out of my old property over 1 year ago, and received emails detailing an outstanding balance, but was never sent an updated bill, the amount seemed to have been plucked out of thin air. Customer service over the phone were utterly useless, couldn't provide me with a new bill or any logical explanation and just to put in a formal complaint.

After several weeks, I had a reply and was told this was an administrative error and that my account has been closed and data deleted. And yet, unsurprisingly, I am STILL receiving emails about my outstanding balance. It's laughable. I have never dealt with service as poor as this. All of the positive reviews are from people who have made initial inquiries about the service, there is not a single positive review from an active user.

I urge anyone reading this to avoid Bunch - they are an immoral service, who charge exorbitant standing charges, illegible and infrequent bills, and it's near impossible to speak to someone. My mental health suffered enormously due to the stress Bunch caused, even after moving out. Avoid avoid avoid!

No response for weeks

No response for weeks, they are keeping the money the owe me and they charged me past my contracts expiry.

Yet when it was time to sign a contract or pay my bills they never where a day late. Scammers. Stay Away, wholly unprofessional.

The bunch never communicates with each other. They say they are going to charge fairly, but they keep charging, even though we are not at the house. Between me and my housemate, I need to pay more, and she pays less, even though we are in the same house. I moved out first, and they are not letting me cancel the agreement, even though I have already moved out. They are also trying to charge money to my housemate's card.

Avoid this company at all costs

Avoid this company at all costs. If I could give less than 1 star, I would. They have been chasing me for a final valuation fee that seems to have been pulled out of thin air. I accessed their online portal, checked all of my transactions as well as what they had been paying on my behalf and worked out that I at most owed them 80 pence. I have just received a threatening email from them telling me that I have 14 days to pay the final valuation, which was nearly £300, and if I don't they will take me to court. This is after I had contacted their complaints department and clearly communicated to them with screenshot evidence of me not owing them anything at all. I paid the final valuation to avoid getting a CCJ, but I will be following this up because they overcharged me considerably for an entire year and I have evidence of this.

Quick Resolution of Concerns

Safaa was great in hearing my concerns and she made sure that a reasonable solution is agreed at within few minutes. She gave me all the alternative options that I could go for and after resolving all my queries, ensured renewal of my contract.

Terrible company!!!

Unfortunately I ended up having a terrible time with this company. I tried multiple times to transfer my account to my new property. They ended up cancelling my account one month before my contract was over, charging me a whopping £300 to do so. The people on the phones don’t seem to know what they are doing and essentially just said yh whatever sure about not charging me then proceeded to do so anyway. Do not use this company, they don’t care about their customers.

One of the worst companies I have dealt…

One of the worst companies I have dealt with in my life!!

I finished my contract with Bunch in June 2024, over two years ago. I completed a tenancy swap through them so that a new tenant could take my place on the contract.

Despite this, for the past two years they have repeatedly tried to charge me for bills outside of my tenancy period. I have sent them my tenancy agreement multiple times, clearly proving that I am not liable for these charges, and have repeatedly asked them to correct the bill.

Every time, I go through the same process: I provide the evidence, explain the situation, and eventually the complaint handler simply stops responding to my emails. This has now happened four times.

What makes the situation even more frustrating is that they continue to threaten that the amount I supposedly owe will double if I don’t pay within 24 hours, yet when I try to contact customer services to resolve the issue, I’m told the relevant staff are unavailable or, on one occasion, the entire customer service team was apparently on a “training day.”

I have spent two years trying to resolve what should be a very simple issue. I have provided clear evidence showing that I am not responsible for these charges, yet Bunch continues to pursue me for money I do not owe.

Absolutely shocking customer service and an incredibly frustrating experience. I would strongly recommend avoiding this company.

I started privately renting for the first time and I wasn’t fully sure how to pay my bills. I got a call the day before I moved in and they told me they were calling to sort my bills out. They did not tell me that this was an optional service and they wanted to charge me way more than I should be paying for bills. I managed to cancel and a few weeks later I got an email saying that they had accidentally given away my personal information. I am beyond angry and I couldn’t recommend to stay away from this company enough.
