Not worth a spa stay. Messy, no elegance, noisy. All about money. Very shabby, needs updating. We did not get the package we paid for. Definitely not worth it. Far better spa stays within the area.

Have got a parking ticket for £170…

Have got a parking ticket for £170 whilst eating lunch at the hotel which I regularly go to for lunch and spa days! None of my 6 friends got a ticket just me and now being hounded by a debt company. It’s very stressful and the hotel has done nothing to help resolve the issue.
I will not return to the psych hotel where people look like their from a Michael Jackson thriller video , walking around in bath robes and slippers

Where Drunken Golfers Dance the Night Away

A one-night stay at this golf-themed hotel was sadly a disappointment, especially as we paid a premium five-star++ rate for barely a three-star experience. The layout is confusing (the hotel is vast, 300+ rooms, with meandering corridors and poor signage. An upgrade to a room-with-balcony was in fact a room-with-walkway-overlooking-the-car-park. The room was cramped; the cupboard had a disturbing odour. The bathroom was windowless, with an old-fashioned step-into-bath shower. There was no air conditioning - a fan was provided on request, to supplement the Dyson cooler. Accessing WiFi required guidance from Reception, as there were no in-room instructions. Sleep was interrupted by a drunken argument from the room above (arguably not the hotel's fault)! The architecture of the hotel means the common areas are very noisy - the bar full of inebriated male golfers was especially uncomfortable. Breakfast was OK, but with a limited choice for vegetarians. The hotel is tired and shabby - it reminded me of hotels thirty years ago. It needs a complete rethink.

Disappointed rooms

As an iconic venue, I had high expectations for my stay at the Belfry Golf Club and hotel, but unfortunately, my experience with the hotel room left me disappointed. Firstly, the TV had no remote, which prevented me from accessing this feature. I contacted housekeeping to request a remote, but one was never provided, ultimately impacting my stay. Additionally, one of the lamp posts had a faulty bulb, causing the room to be dimmer than expected.

The shower head was inadequate and lacked sufficient water pressure, considering its small size. To make matters worse, despite booking a room for one person, I was given two single beds that could not be joined together, forcing me to sleep on a single bed.

Overall, while I had high expectations for the Belfry Golf Club and hotel, the room lacked attention to detail and did not meet my expectations for an upscale venue.

Went for son’s Birthday for 2 days

Went for son’s Birthday for 2 days. Chose great time as amazing weather so boys loved the golf but WOW the prices were extortionate. Me and daughter spent time in spa whilst boys played golf. Definitely needs updating as tired, bar prices were ridiculous spent a fortune on food and drink to point 4 times the usual price so taking advantage a little. Don’t get me wrong still a beautiful place but far far too expensive. Staff absolutely lovely though.

I just came from a weekend break and must say I really enjoyed the stay. The dinner of lamb was cooked well and loved the variety for breakfast. Enjoyed swimming, great time in the jacuzzi though it was smaller than expected. Sauna was small but ok, Slept well as the bed was comfortable.. The staff I found very helpful and good at engaging with us. I look forward to coming back as it was on a very good deal. I have recommend to some of my friends to check this place.

do not visit if you have a allergy or intolerance

On Friday the 17th of March my daughter took me to the belfry(lichfield road,B76 9PR) for a spa day, this included afternoon tea. I called ahead twice and confirmed I was a coeliac and had a milk intolerance and was assured all had been taken note of and not to worry.
I was assured it was all safe though the staff were really not knowledgable upon arrival, after more questioning and reassurance that it was all ok I ate after putting my trust into their hands.
As a coeliac when I have been affected it affects me 3-4 hours later, while I was still there in the pool I began feeling unwell, I quickly got out of the pool and headed towards the changing room toilet, the door was locked and ended up being violently sick several times infront of everyone, including the duty manager Kerry Shepard and her team.I felt so Ill, I was escorted initially to the changing room bench in full view of other customers, I could not move the cramping was so severe. The only concern for the manager was to fill out her form, my daughter was very distressed and voiced that this was not appropriate at all, the manager did not care and argued back that this form had to be filled in.
An ambulance was called after my daughter insisted as she was so concerned.
I was eventually taken by a wheelchair and put in one of their bedrooms I was still in a wet costume, whilst on the way to the bedroom the member of staff who was pushing the wheelchair was trying to juggle the walkie talkie and the wheelchair she ended up pushing me into a wall quite hard, all this time the manageress did not offer to help at all.
When we reached the bedroom she continued pressing with her paperwork even though I was a complete mess and just needed to lie down,I heard her telling another member of staff that at least their bit was done, no apology or care given whilst being sick.
At this stage the paramedic called and advised the wait would be a long one and advised I was having a coeliac reaction, once it was out of my system I would feel a little better but If I was to get worse to call 999 again.
I lay down for a while and I knew from past experience after a few hours and the vomit stopping I would be at least able to get on my feet to leave, my partner had also arrived to get me home safely. I had no phone call later to see how I was or whether I needed anything at all.
Ms Shepard called on Saturday afternoon to tell my daughter that their investigations had been done and there had been no cross contamination on their part, she said they checked all the cctv and ingredients and told me they were not to blame and they would be doing nothing at all about it, to add insult to injury she said the only way I could prove it was to do a stool sample, adding the GP surgery would be closed so perhaps I should go the the walk in centre and ask them to do a stool sample to prove I had ingested gluten.
I am a 52 year old woman and I have never ever felt so belittled and degraded in this way, I have a serious intolerance on top of this my immune is weaker having just recovered from breast cancer, I can’t emphasise enough how important it is to have this investigated, if this had of been an allergy I would have died.
I lost a Saturday at work and had to close my store not to mention years of avoiding gluten and the damage it has done to my villi.
They need to know that this cannot be the protocol they follow, the manager needs to be much more than a tick box form filler and needs to resale she has a duty of care.
There has been no apology no gesture and no claim of fault at all.

Lovely hotel excellent food great staff poor dated spa

Huge place but very cold walking about .. food amazing and staff very friendly. I booked overnight stay with spa access and found the spa dated and not relaxing at all. No where to lounge as all the beds had towels on yet no one on them or in pool or spa! This needs addressing ! I finally manage to get into the one of of 2 jacuzzi but soon out again as it was luke warm in fact my bath at home is hotter! No coffee pods in room and tried to ring reception over an hour no one picked up! Overall my stay there was pleasant for the deal I paid for but shall not be returning as the spa let it down massively and drinks are way over prices £15 for a glass of wine is ridiculous I would recommend taking your own fizz but beware no fridge in room!

Stayed here for my birthday

Stayed here for my birthday. Room was nice but the en-suite although clean had a odd smell & there were no robes either. Re the facilities.. swimming pool is small & the area did not have enough seating. The fire & ice (which has the different rooms ie crystal room etc ) think was too small and fully booked up. Also dated .And even if you get a booking you only get an hour to spend in there.
However the Spa staff ( Sally) , hotel reception staff & restaurant staff were friendly & helpful. Drinks a bit overpriced but food was great.

Don't do it- overpriced by 1000%

Very disappointed with this visit. We've been ill all over Christmas so was looking fpeqard to nice little break.
Firstly. We arrived to the pool being filled with kids. The jacuzzi was filled with kids despite there being an age 12 restriction and clearly no one bothered enough to go and remove them. They were also in the pool after 5pm too which I believed was when kids aren't allowed.
There were no robes in our room. None to hand on reception at the spa and no towels either so we were told to get the towels from our room. Just made the experience pretty rubbish from the get go. Why don't you know how to plan for the amount of customers you have? Staff so unbuffered by It's laughable.

We then went for dinner. Canteen style area with a buffet service option available which is included in the price if you book a package. It looked disgusting so we opted for Al la carte.
My starter was king prawns. It was served half cold and half warm. So unsure if it was a cold dish that was warmed or a hot dish that had gone cold. Either way it was gross. The bread it was served on was soggy.
But nevermind had my steak to look forward to. Wrong. I ordered my steak medium. It came out mooing. It was very very rare and i have photos to show for it just incase the management get argumentative. The mushroom it came with was so salty it was inedible. No one asked us if our food was ok throughout the whole meal. People wandering around all night to do the buffet so those of us wanting a dining experience couldn't get it either. tables are cold and cushions on seats are filthy.
We'd gone to the bar area earlier on. 2 bottles of corona cost us over £12 and 2 bottles of corona with crisps was over £16. We weren't given a reciept or even told that the staff slapped on a service charge. A service charge for us sitting at the bar??? So underhand and disgusting treatment of customers. Give your customers reciepts. There is no way id have paid for a service charge when the staff stood around gossiping. We had to flag you down to get drinks. To then be told by staff that they don't get the tips anyway? Are you that desperate for money Belfry?

All in all. Very very average stay. Food was just not the standard youd expect and overall impression so far not good. Let's see what breakfast brings as I'm not holding out much hope.

I'm now in bed hungry and don't want to particularly go and be conned out of more money.

Will not be returning

Much better spas than this one. Pool is tiny and filled with children. Not what you want when coming to a spa as an adult. They need a different pool that is not shared. Fire and ice was ok nothing special. Facial was very simple. Staff on spa reception did not seem bothered. Will not be returning

Looking for a Party Venue

The hotel is an excellent place to have a party but I do have to agreed with other reviews, the price of the drinks are high. I was with group of people December 2022 and I found across the range the drinks were very expensive. I guess if you go there you are sort of stuck in that location and I think they take advantage of the situation. The night was very enjoyable with a good atmosphere. The staff were very efficient and the food was served on time and to a high standard.

However, in the current climate I think most party goers will want to seek better valve from the drinks menu. It is certainly something I would reconsider before booking the venue again.

Spa breaks at The Belfry - must do better!

Just returned from a pamper stay at The Belfry. This was a birthday gift from my children. Sadly, it wasn't the experience we'd hoped for. The 'spa' area was over crowded with nowhere to sit or even place our towels. Beds were taken, many with towels but staff were not enforcing the rule that beds should not be left unoccupied for more than 15 minutes. One of the whirlpools was out of order with an unsightly barrier, that wouldn't have been out of place on a building site, around it.The other 'working' whirlpool was full and when we eventually managed to sit in it, the water was cold and the jets only worked on one side. Not what we expected.
On the positive, the treatments were lovely and performed by experienced therapists. The spa lounge is comfortable and plush but staff need to ensure the water jug is full with adequate cups.
We enjoyed the fire and ice experience, but again, the area was a little tired. It is almost impossible to relax as you can hear the motors chugging or swirling in different rooms. Some tranquil music might help to cover this.
Another positive is the food and the service in The Ryder room. We had Sunday lunch, a carvery, which was fabulous. Breakfast was also a hit.
If you want a get-a-way break, then this is the place for you. If you want to be pampered in the spa for a relaxing break, I'd go elsewhere, which is a shame as the treatments and therapists are so good.

There are far better Spas

There was nowhere to sit around the pool, the pool was full of children, they missed our afternoon tea booking and I found the restaurant staff a bit rude if I'm honest, paid for a foot massage that wasnt provided, changing rooms were full of families and kids running around, no drinking water anywhere - bit dated and not as clean as it could have been. If you're after relaxation - I would go elsewhere

Checked into a suite as a birthday…

Checked into a suite as a birthday gift, bedroom was infested with wasps. Wife went to resolve the issue and we were offered a standard room. So effectively downgraded, my wife had booked a bottle of champagne for in the room which didn't turn up, when my wife tried to resolve this she was not offered anything as a gesture of goodwill, totally shambolic, not one clue how to treat customers. Really would not recommend staying here
